The reason our posts are being deleted is this thread has, however more interesting than shitcoins, become nothing to do with shitcoins. At least that's my guess.

I'd have to agree my astute friend  Cheesy
It's about the borders.. skirting on the edges of off-topic.. you guys should know better.
And it happens to all of us.. i had my fair share too guys.

Only time i ever really got pissed about mod's here is i have felt at times like they focused on me.
Like they would keep a close watch on me for months hitting delete like crazy..
While others were blatantly far worse at what ever infraction in question.

Consistency is the name of the game and it's hard to do.
Mod's have to interpret the rules and that is going to cause a variation of course.

Anyway some of you here are notorious for super massive long winded tangents.
I know.. i am one to talk.  Cheesy

But Shelby is fuckin' nuts.. he thinks Bitcoin was made as some conspiracy and when he gets banned here he claims conspiracy and all he ever posts about is conspiracies (see his last comment here)

It's just not enough about Altcoins i think then poof the commentary is gone.

r0ach, we are headed into a new normal. Surviving and profiting in this new paradigm as the global economy shifts to Asia is going to be challenging. Crypto-currency is perhaps going to play a role. But you don't think Rothschild created Bitcoin so he could enable you to be free?

It has been an important learning process for me.

There is absolutely no way you could get the Trump supporters to believe their savior Wikileaks is actually the source of their enslavement. You wouldn't even be allowed to get the message out to them.

There is no way you could create a popular Internet service and prevent it from being be co-opted by the elite.

You simply won't be allowed to.

We all here pretend we could be free. We won't succeed. None of us. Look yourself in the mirror and ask if you've come to grips with your enslavement or if you are still in denial.

If you've swallowed the blue pill, then there is nothing to say to you. If you've swallowed the red pill as I have, then its time to realize you are only free when you need nothing, not even to eat. When you walk away with nothing into the wilderness, then you are free. Free to die, free to be attacked by parasites and predators, and free to go hungry.

FYI either r0ach or mprep is deleting my posts. If he does this again, I will duplicate the censored posts to another thread (perhaps outside of Altcoin Discussion, i.e. shouldn't we move this discussion to Economics or Politics & Society?):

Someone just deleted SIX of my posts, so not me.  The posts deleted were talking about Bitcoin, metals, and economic collapse.  I mean, I'm mentioning cryptocurrency in all of them and they're still deleted..wtf?  Is the PPT moderating Bitcointalk now and doesn't want posts saying people should dump stocks for silver?

It isn't r0ach. First of all the thread isn't self moderated and second of all the message you quoted said that a forum moderator did it.

Thanks for the clarification.

Moving very fast here, have 100 tabs of research open, no time to check if the thread is self-moderated, and besides I don't know if r0ach didn't message mprep asking for deletions, i.e. "deletion" in a general sense can also include provocation to delete. In all likelihood mprep deleted those without any provocation from r0ach.[1] Lastly it didn't register to me until moments later that "forum moderator" would maybe be distinct from "thread self-moderator" (and I did indeed have that thought when I was already in the middle of jogging trying to beat the rain when was threatening to pour down) and by the time I returned and ate. It just didn't seem worth digging back in to find this post, etc..

Look when I write a sentence and not a paragraph, it likely means I was not trying to make a perfectly accurate statement, but rather just quickly deal with something that I wanted off my plate immediatley, becuse I was in middle of doing somehting else.

basically wanted to ask or suggest if we needed to move the discussion that veered away from altcoins to a thread in Economics or Politics & Security.

[1] And that is surely the case, now that I noticed that mprep deleted the entire conversation about economic collapse, including r0ach's posts. Note I agree economic collapse is off-topic from altcoins (or is it? Monero is betting anonymity on economic collapse to some extent), but mprep should have an alternative means of encouraging diversionary discussion to move to another sub-forum of Bitcointalk, instead of just nuking the entire discussion. Does he think we post here to waste our fucking time? Mprep have a little bit more respect of us please. We take time from our work to post here and when you destroy our effort, you are stealing from us. Can you institute some means of forking the thread to "Off topic" or other forum of your choice? 51 year old men don't like being spanked by other men. It's really silly way to handle moderation, especially when no one was trying to abuse your moderation powers in this case.

And there was many more by other users deleted too.
Not surprising many of you have a weak grasp of the concept of staying on topic.

By the way.. mods still delete comments on self-moderated topics.. i caught them doing it.
Further more there is others that can and do moderate this section randomly..
So you should not assume it was mprep 100%

But Shelby you are a bit bat-shit-crazy
You said the mod's here banned you before for "Ethereum FUD"
What ?
They are gonna ban you for that and not me ?  Grin

Your gold outlook looks like it has a 5-15 year time horizon. One will need a very strong conviction to ride that one out.

Lol, the people in this thread.  We're looking at a timespan of something like between anytime now and 2 years before the debt markets + banks inevitably implode and you have martial law with the national guard standing in the streets.  I highly doubt we will even make it past 2017...

Yup:

The Red pill, Blue pill Election — NYC slumlord vs. Globalists

Yeah but, who wants to live in a world you see? fck it, give me one bullet.

Just swallow the blue pill then.

Roach, if what you say is true, it's much better to buy food, ammo and fuel. Things like gold and bitcoin won't matter in a world you are foreseeing.

That would presume the entire globe falls into a Dark Age. Rather it is quite likely that Asia bottoms 2020 and starts rising, while the West falls into the abyss of entitlements and bankster stranglehold. You'll perhaps be able to transition your assets to functioning areas of the global economy.

I agree here on the timeframe. So much more debt in the system globally. NIRP has killed banking profit models; unlikely the Euro banks can ever recover as they are trapped. Eg, DB - need to trim down & capital raise (due to fines) but if that comes by selling profitable parts of business, then where does future profit come from. It's not coming from lending thats for sure. Italian, Spanish, French banks all in same boat.

If they actually do manage to drag this thing out longer, it will involve LOTS of devaluation by printing to prevent deflationary collapse, or a new Bretton Woods where they revalue gold instantly to $10,000 or so overnight.

Yep and this is why you buy gold, bitcoin. Deflationary collapse people are missing that governments will prefer printing into oblivion than debt death by deflation. And it's actually what they have been trying to manufacture for the past 8 years (inflation by printing). Also, an overnight revaluation = instant inflation as everything is repriced. Gold maintains purchasing power, fiat not so much.

Quote
You buy things like silver and/or Bitcoin to front run the largest bankruptcy in the history of mankind.  Might as well make money instead of losing it.

Make money by retaining purchasing power in the event of inflation. Make money by being in an asset that hopefully acts as a store of value (and sees inflows) when other assets shit the bed.

We also had Bill Gross recommend Bitcoin

I currently use silver as a savings account and Bitcoin as a checking account.  When I need to spend fiat, I have a reloadable Bitpay Visa card.  You can have $0 on it and send some Bitcoin to an address linked to the Bitpay account, and within 60 seconds your Visa card is credited with fiat.  No need to even use a bank now.

This way of spending fiat is interesting for me. How much fee you need to pay for each transaction (other than BTC tx fee)?

How do I get a BitPay Prepaid Visa® Card?
You can order your BitPay Prepaid Visa® Card for $9.95.
What fees will I pay to use this card?

There are no transaction fees for using the card to pay in the US. When traveling outside of the United States of America you will pay a fee of 3% to cover the cost of currency conversion.

There is a $2.00 fee for ATM or cash-back withdrawals inside the US and a $3.00 fee for any ATM or cash-back withdrawals outside of the country.

For more information and a full Schedule of Fees, view your Cardholder Agreement.

To reply to earlier posts here..

i don't think the US President has enough to power abolish FIAT paper Money then force a move to "Metals"
I think the US's Financial system would reject it all with backing Internationally.
Combined the power of Earth's Financial system would over-ride what Trump says.

It's funny how he recommended gold + bitcoin but didn't mention silver.  The guy is worth 2.5 billion dollars.  He could probably single handedly pump silver a ton and make lots of money.  I assume he doesn't mess with that market because the bankers would punish him in some way or kill him.

When the debt based system blows up, I could see Bitcoin making a run to something crazy like $10,000-$40,000, especially if it's used as a medium to do things like facilitate gold commerce.  That's a +15-60x.  It sounds stupidly high, but if every millionaire (not even counting billionaires) hedged only 1% of their wealth in Bitcoin, that would be $7800 a coin fully liquid market cap, which would in reality be much higher price because no markets are fully liquid.

Of course, how many millionaires are going to lose everything because they were all-in on equities and facebook stocks?  It's a hard picture to put together when plenty of millionaires are going to become instantly broke.  Silver is looking to be around a +10-45x, so it will be interesting to see which one performs better given all the manipulations involved either way and how much wealth remains liquid vs how much is frozen or destroyed somehow.

It definitely wouldn't be surprising, in my opinion, if the FATC Act starts to push more people to buy from companies online using cryptos then they're more than likely going to start paying more attention to that, and that isn't necessarily something that I or a lot of other people want to see happening. The longer the feds can stay out of Bitcoin the better imo.

The Feds are coming after Bitcoin any way. I argue that Bitcoin was created by the elite because it enables digital tracking of everything.

You don't really believe this notion of "Satoshi Nakamoto" being some lone guy in his garage? Come on, get real. In any case, it doesn't matter. Bitcoin is the 666 digital kill switch.

But Bitcoin isn't the only possible crypto-currency. There are others with anonymity.

Actually I don't think anonymity should be the goal. We are going to move to a digitally tracked world. There is nothing anybody can do to stop that. Revelations can't be avoided. It is a natural progression of the species of man to destroy himself.

Embrace it. Profit. Live and die. Pray.

I would argue that it will play out over a longer period of time.
Here is the Jewish view on the future and how it will play out.

http://www.beingjewish.com/soul/future.html

If I believe it, does that alone make it real.

It makes it real for you

That was my point. ;-)

Btw, the following points by Freeman Dyson are going to tantalize your mind:

https://www.edge.org/discourse/dawkins_dyson.html

Now I understand why Eric S. Raymond (160 IQ) said he felt like the slow kid in the family when he ate breakfast with the Dysons.

Dyson is speaking about what CoinCube had pointed out about a balance between evolving too fast and losing too much information versus not evolving fast enough.

As it turns out, Dyson is correct that evolving too fast remains always the outcome (see his reply to Richard Dawkins), as nature routes around the mature species by chaotically rendering it extinct.

Thus I was correct to favor a higher rate of disobedience within the species and also because Dyson seems to be correct that horizontal transfer is exponentially faster than Darwinian evolution! I need to spend some more time thinking about all the implications of this and make a followup to my article "INformation is Alive!".

Dyson declared in 2000 that he is a non-denomination Christian. They say his IQ is in the 180 range.

I don't have as high an IQ as him (I lack the memory and fast computational engine), but I share his love for being a contrarian and I do seem to have a very IQ in terms of mapping concepts in my mind (but I first have to get rid of all the symbols and other translational noise that clutters my parallel visualization engine, because I don't have an exceptional IQ in the realm of I/O and sequential processing).

We also had Bill Gross recommend Bitcoin, Japan reduce tax on it, and Russia's Finance minister indicate he thinks Bitcoin may become acceptable in Russia later.

Perhaps readers need a summary to perk their interest.

The point is that if you want to sell internationally, then the payment providers are not going to be able to handle your business. You will need to accept something else. But what else?

We need a crypto-currency that is in the hands of millions and easily accessible for international commerce.

I'm personally just amazed at Larimer's ability to create intricate Rube Goldberg machines.  You have to sit there and stare at the wall for hours and hours to go through all the endless variables in your brain that can affect his systems...

...Then you have to get into all the economics of the system and how that's going to work out, or if it's "fair" with original entrants turning it into a pyramid scheme.  You end up trying to analyze something that's (borrowing the Anonymint phrase for criticising of Ethereum) unbounded complexity.  You just cannot look at a Larimer system without your brain exploding.

*Will read over the Steem stuff in a sec.  Anything Larimer related always has some type of crazy controversy to it.

Ok, for Steem, economics is basically the study of pump and dumps and rent seeking behavior, culminating in the end game of - if you aren't a slum lord, you aren't doing it right, and Dan likes to read economic-type books that spell out lessons such as this.  It's not surprising he tries to integrate tricks to fool the users since that's all economics is is fooling people into becoming your servants in rent seeking behavior.  It seems Larimer might be an evil genius.
