On a stock Nano is there a difference in the bios if I flip the switch? Or are they both the same? I want to flash left position with stock bios from right, then flash right with modded bios and try that way. If they are different though, can someone upload the two stock roms? Still having problems that the guy above was having, if I go over 950Mhz core it gets laggy and dies. Then if I want to start again I have to DDU and reinstall 16.1 drivers. Im powering down and unplugging electricity too  Huh

The main and backup bios is the same.

You just need a add some voltage to the Core. I have similar issues.

Ive added +100mv and 100% power on afterburner, still no luck. How did you add more power to core?

I started testing the mod on a single Nano, a few days ago and the results is fantastic.
Thanks Heliox for guiding me to Nano nirvana...

Details as follows:

1. H81-BTC, 1840 Celeron, 8GB RAM, 102Gb SSD, USB3 powered risers, 1 x 1600w EVGA, 5 x Sapphire Nanos
2. Using Claymore Dual Miner, currently without Rom mods, 133MHs, -100mV, 1070, 525 @1133watts (ETH & DCR mode)
3. ETH mode only, power draw is just under 1000w with settings above.

My goal:
1. 185 Mh/s @ 4.8A, 1050 watts (6 Cards) 1020 Core, 300 Mem
2. Replace the 1600w to 1300w PSU (20% buffer).
3. Add one more Nano to total 6 cards from 5.

Test machine:
1. Same as production machine, but with a single Nano
2. Tested all roms including -150mV version, all OK
3. After flashing, DDU in safe mode, reinstall Cat 16.3.2, then upgraded to 16.4 automatically - will stick to this.
4. Ran CDM4.4 ETH only at stock 22MHs on -150mV/800/300 overnight, all OK and seems we have a winner
5. Braved the -175mV, and inched my way to 30MHs.... maxed out at from 800/300 to 1040/300... 29.xxMHs
6. GPUZ and AF reporting temps: 68c, Fan speed 53% 15k RPM, 100% GPU Load, VDDC 1.1375v
7. Will run this for few hours.
8. Need to find kill-a-watt meter to test power draw later

I hope I can push it some more to hit pass 30MHs... should I go for the -200mV.rom Huh

Aha! I'm glad it's working out alright for you! It should, as it's working perfectly (almost 2 months) over here.

I would stick with the 175 version. The 200 one is a little overkill to be honest. You may try, but it could fail..

Good luck further!

For those with issues with the low version one.

Here's a -75mV version for those with problems Smiley

-75mV VDDC, -100mV MVDDC

Greetings!

H81btc last bios. 6x r9 nano with modded rom at -125mv memory (conservative). at 800 core systems are stable for weeks (thanks elliovp!) when i try, with afterburner, to push to 900 core system freeze with video TDR failure (windows 10) and i need to delete driver (with DDD) and restart.
Ideas? I'm the only one?

You can use the afterburner to increase the Core voltage by 10 or 20 mV, it works with my several nanos.

hello I have R9 Nitro or sapphire R9 390 , can i use this modded Rom ?

Yes. There is no difference between different brands. They are all reference cards and use the same BIOS.

Heliox....

Btw, just to get my strategy correct the first time...
I am currently running H81 mobo, 1840 Celeron, 8GB RAM, USB3 powered risers, 1300w EVGAs, 5 x Sapphire Nanos.
Using Claymore Dual Miner, ETH and DCR, currently without Rom mods, 133MHs, -100mV, 1070, 525 @1128watts

My goal:
185 Mh/s @ 4.8A, 1050 watt (6 Cards) 1020 Core, 300 Mem
Replace the 1600w to 1300w PSU
Add one more Nano to total 6 cards from 5.

Question:
1. which rom mod shoudo I use to get the 185MHs/1050w/1020/300/4.8A ?
2. the Dual Miner's DCR mining... what impact does it have on achieving the 185MHs?
3. Mining DCR, is DCR memory intensive?
4. Claymore dual miner, creates the DAG on the GPU memory... any impact since we are underclocking it to 300?

Thanks

Got almost the exact same setup mate.

H81 pro btc board, 8GB ram, USB3 powered risers, the only thing that's different is that i have LEPA G1700 and G1600 PSU's and 6 Nano's hooked.
Also running Claymore's dual miner but not mining both, only ETH.

1. -150mV MVDDC (DPM150.rom) would do just fine.
2. I haven't tested Dual mining as i wasn't interested at the time and i'm still not :p So you would need to do that yourself Smiley
3. I don't believe so, it's more memory intensive than Eth but still not "that" intensive.
4. Nope, no impact at all.

Greetings Smiley

I am using the 175 rom now and seems stable - I am now reinstalling the Crimson drivers and its stable through-out.

But...... since I am going for the 185MHs goal.... would a -150mV better than a -175mV, because I would need more juice to hit 185MHs with 6 x cards?

If you keep that memclock @ 300, -175 will run fine. 200 however won't (i think) the more things you guys test, the more knowledge i have, i've tested so many things but obviously not "everything" Smiley

Greetings

I had an early scare of "the GREEN screen of death"...

Figured it out and disabled AF from auto startup...

now new rom mod at -100mV is ok and seems stable for 30mins mining at 25MHs untouched..

now I am going for 175 and 200 rom mods.

keeping finger crossed!

Heliox.... how do flash 100 x Nanos? one at a time?
Cant i put all the GPUs x 6 on the board and flash it one by one by changing the -f n ?
If i was to flash multiple rigs, cant i just put it into a batch file and do the -f 0, 1, 2 etc?
I am surprised how easy this mod is for such a high end GPU like the Nano.

Green screen of death, gotta love those Wink

Start off by flashing the -150mV MVDDC, if that's ok, try the 175 rom, leave the 200 as it is, especially when you're going to run higher clocks..

Nah, i have one main pc with a big ass monitor, i connect to 6 rigs at a time "vnc" seperate those windows so i can watch them all, and i run atiflash one at a time, basically 6 at a time :p

Yes you can put all the GPU's on your board and flash them one by one. --> atiflash -f -p 0 "rom" --> atiflash -f -p 1 "rom --> atiflash -f -p 2 "rom" .......

Theoretically you can put it in a batch file yes, but i wouldn't do that, just for the fact if something would go wrong... (which i doubt..)

What do you mean with how easy it is?

How easy to apply it?
Yeah.. you can't imagine how many hours/days/weeks i spent to get this far..

Modifying that rom wasn't just changing a value, it was more than that. The offsets for the VDDC and MVDDC had to be added, the extra space that was used to add it in the rom had to be removed somewhere else, and so on Smiley

But their could be even better news in the upcoming weeks..

Rop shedding.. basically what The Stilt did with those 290 roms a few years ago. Implementing this for my nano's Smiley

Greetings!

LOL... YES,  how easy to apply your roms I mean... really appreciate your hardwork.... power savings alone is one big help to reduce operations costs. Once I get all my rig up.... expect some donation ETH coming your way!

Don't forget to completely turn off your system (turn off electricity).

Also when opening GPU-Z your clocks should be 800/300, if not, DDU and reinstall driver after removing Afterburner profiles.

Have fun!
