I personally wouldn't like to see new ranks introduced as I am perfectly content with my current rank and don't need this feeling of having to farm something endlessly in order to have fun on the forum. Imho, people take this forum way too seriously and new higher ranks would only make things worse in that regard.
Of course, I would never have expected it either. I think 8 rank so far is enough after the merit system was introduced, but if the merit system is not required for rank up then adding a new rank is not a problem. I'm assuming hundreds of thousands of users are still very difficult to rank up to Legendary due to lack of knowledge, so let's just say that the few users who managed to get 10K merit more are dedicated users on this forum. So if some of these users are given special badge for their contributions, then I think it's better than adding new rank for users.

For every user who made it to 10K merit, congratulations on your success. I hope more users follow you in the near future.

Two of biggest requests on forum recent years

About a new rank (above Legendary), will it cause side effects?
It depends
  • Especially if it is simply a rank, without additional income from that rank, it won't bring anything bad.

But wouldn't it be nice if there were actually ranks like that to aspire to?

IF the new ranks have to do with activity, there is little you can do to grind this measure but to continue contributing to the forum.
I am a low-activity user, and I probably wouldn't get access to those ranks too soon.
But you are right: there is a lot of fun in the forum without ruining everything for merit/activity!

I don't think future ranking adjustments are a bad idea. I imagine that every 10 year old Legendary on this forum could be given a new rank in the future "Legendary II or something" especially if they have achieved a certain number of activity and merit.
Merit and activity is the key, because there are people who registered years ago who've barely made any contribution to the forum, and there are members with tons of merits who haven't shown a dedication to being here that members with a lot of activity points have.

I think adding a rank that recognizes both, something along the lines of what LoyceV suggested, would be great:

Since this was years ago, by now maybe we need a few more ranks: 2000 Merit/Activity, 4000 and 8000. That's going to take a while.
And yeah, if ranks were added for those levels of activity/merit, it'd take most people a long time to reach them.  But wouldn't it be nice if there were actually ranks like that to aspire to?

And congrats to everyone who's at or anywhere near the 10k club.  I'm limping along, but I'm sure if I don't die first I'll get there eventually.

With @Ratimov climbing up the ladder to the next club of 8k merits now the number is three and soon @DdmrDdmr is joining the club with only few merits left.

We will do our best to help @ddmrddmr too!
He deserves a little push given the amount of merits he is used to distributing!

Please fix your quote, I didn't say that.
Thanks for pointing it out and mistakenly quoted you instead of @ShowOff but now corrected it.

There are 3 members in 6k Merit Club now. I won't keep a list, BPIP does that alread.
We don't need a manual list for the same as we can clearly see it on BPIP as you have already said with the updated data.

Another member exited the 7k club, and entered the 8K club.

In addition to the certificate that you created specifically for him, then I think he already has a complete certificate for his contribution to the forum since February 2018 until now. BIP has dedicated it to him, @fillippone is a user who ranks third as Most Earned Merit & Most Merit. Congratulations for him again.  Wink

These are more of badges set on BPIP for each member and you can check them for yourself also as they are not official one's just to demonstrate your forum stats but the above one is some sort of unofficial appreciation certificate from my side to him for completing the 10k mark.

The pizza 🍕 badge he has on his profile is another one of his achievement on forum with winning this year pizza contest so you see he has lot on his name and all earned within these years.

I’ve taken my foot off the pedal since the bull run ended due to obviously having other priorities. Some of you guys are merit animals.

Regarding the bolded, I am at a much slower merit receiving pace now but I will be at that milestone in a couple of weeks.

Kudos to the 10k+ guys, incredible.
You are just left with 63 merits at current for entering the 7k club even after you have taken your foot off the pedal and have earned 143 merits in past 130 days so I think you still have another foot on the accelerator mate  Grin and at this pace also you will see good growth on forum.

11k Merit Club: 2 members
10k Merit Club: 1 member
9k Merit Club: 1 member
8k Merit Club: 2 members
7k Merit Club: 2 members
6k Merit club: 4 members

There is update in these clubs as members are getting merits at much faster pace and now we have :

7k Merit Club:3 members
6k Merit Club:2 members

The group changes will happen soon as @Ratimov is left with 20 merits only to enter 8k club and @El duderino_ with 50 merits to enter 9k club.

But I firmly believe that if a new rating is introduced then there must be pros and cons later. Not many users could reach 2000 merit, it would definitely take a lot of time for most of them.
When merit system was introduced we have Meta section spammed up with lot of threads and there was mixed reaction among members but there was impact for it as quality members managed to earn merits while others left the forum or still the same.But now if we have new limits it would be hard for many to reach the new limits and maybe @theymos has this in mind or we may see some rank adjustment as we have new merit clubs being unlocked on forum with time passing.

That's been discussed before, amongst others in Evolution of rank names and What if Theymos added new Rank after Legendary?

I'll repeat my suggestion:
I'd say just "Legend" sounds good. Or maybe just add a bold font to the current Legendary rank.
-I vote for the name Legend. It's simple, and makes Legendary look a bit like "Legend-ish", while Legend sounds like "the real thing".

Maybe some adjustments in the ranking could be made in the future when more and more users will get the legendary rank.
I think the rank should be tied more to the activity in the forum, with, of course, some ties to merits, but what defines a user as legendary is the resilience in posting in the forum valuable content, so I guess being activity more difficult to grind rather than merits, should be taken in more focus.

That rangking should be achievable for every loyal Legendary user to be active on the forum, but it might be hard to expect it for the current forum but more likely to be integrated in the new forum later.

I think theymos should Introduce a new Rank called Legend Pro Max. For the 10k merited Users then you can go on.

Other then Ranks i think in the Profile there should be the Ranking of the profile with respect to activity and the Posts. JJG is going to Hold No 1. Meanwhile Chart Buddy can replace him in Future.

So was bit busy and didn't get the time to make updates in the thread and now we have one more member finishing the race and just came to know about this in the morning and was really very happy about it.

So congratulations to @fillippone on achieving this milestone after @LoyceV and @o_e_l_e_o and hitting the 10k merit mark on the forum after them and this happened very fast as @Ratimov helped you with 39 merits to complete this achievement and when I am writing up this post your record is already shattered with additional 14 merits but still congratulations to you as you was waiting for this moment from long time and finally now you are here and going to the next 11k club with them.

So now report for other members on the forum is here and the this is graph showing the merits left for remaining contenders of this race :

So now you are left with 8 members in this race and will now update the charts once in a month as only @theymos is close to the mark and rest there is big difference so once in a month is fine for me and hope you all do good on the forum.

Merit system launched on January 24, 2018, 11:00:11 PM (forum time), or Wednesday 24 January 2018 22:12:21 (GMT time).
To take away all doubt: the first Merit was this one:

What will happen next 10 years? 50k or 100k merit?

In future, when new members join forum, they will look at merit-earning beasts like merit rich gang. Even you guys stop posting, you will continue to receive merit from your past good posts.

Thank you LoyceV.
I have been tempted to make some distinction about how the merit clubs would change considering earned merits only, but I stopped, as this was an irrelevant distinctions: airdropped merits are a consequence of your contribution to the forum before the introduction of the merit system, and this contribution is as valuable as the earned merits.

Thanks for the update and for the kind words, but I always feeling like I am struggling too much, when I compare with some merits brrrr like @o_e_l_e_o I once dreamt of surpassing.
No way I can do right now.
There's always a big fish seems true in this case Grin as for many you are going with quite a pace and for you merits brrr like @o_e_l_e_o quads are getting stronger being in cycling club  Grin

There's only 1235 merits difference there and you can surpass him if he stops cycling at some point to relax  Grin but don't worry you are right behind him.

I used to lag him only 600 merits or less, when I had some merit boost. I could see getting him.
Now he upped his pace and I am struggling.
I tip my hat to @o_e_l_e_o, he fully deserve every single one of his merits, it's only my fault!

Now as far as this 10k club goes, I have a feeling if I don't drop dead of something I might get there eventually, but it's kind of a long shot seeing as I'm just past halfway there and of the 5000+ merits I have, 1k were airdropped to me when the system kicked off in 2018.  I'll probably be speaking into a dictophone to make posts when I hit the 10k mark, as my hands will be all gnarled with arthritis and too lame to use on a keyboard.  Lol.
So what about us? Grin We might be reaching your current merit score at the same conditions seeing the future progress of the forum.

But I do so enjoy some flapping lips! Plus I can just give everyone Versed and then they don't remember anything I said. Tongue

Let's assume a little about the speed of your merit. If you have 62 merit (current average) as the average merit you get in a month, then it will take you 76 months to reach 10K merit from now. That means you'd have to spend 6.3 years from now to be on the 10K merit list. So maybe it's true, you should talk to the dictophone later if you really can't afford to post it anymore, and until then, would you be willing to have someone call you grandpa? LOL

Bumping up this thread after so many do many days to make the updations to the thread as there are lot of different merit stats for the members then yesterday also so now is the time to give you all an idea about how it's going.

Although I wanted to update this thread earlier only when our Italian bitcoin geek @fillippone surpassed @theymos in this race but didn't get time to make changes and observe the merit proportions due to some work IRL but today I got some spare one so decided to make this thread alive again.

So first of all congratulations to @fillippone for surpassing @theymos is this 10k merit race and now is 168 merits ahead of him in this race and going forward with the same pace very fast.See told you man that you would definitely be second one in this race and third one to sit on 10k merit throne keeping in mind @LoyceV also.

Now let's have some merit stats so the last update was 45 days back on 19th May which is one and half month so there are lot of merit changes till then.

Merits gained by Members over past 45 days:

So you see how many merits all the contenders of this race have gained over past 45 days and leading them again is undoubtedly @fillippone with highest 518 merits in just time span of 45 days with an average of 11.5 merits daily which is amazing.

So here is list in ascending order for the members with their merits gained in these days :

Code:
@fillippone - 518 merits
@DdmrDdmr - 354 merits
@El duderino_ - 273 merits
@pooya87 - 260 merits
@JayJuanGee - 256 merits
@Ratimov - 250 merits
@LFC_Bitcoin - 194 merits
@suchmoon - 175 merits
@theymos - 76 merits

So now you see how well the members are doing in this race but you see they are making effective contributions on the forum which is helping them to gain merits at such pace and you can all check their post history to find out the true picture.

Merits left to reach 10k mark:

So now how much they are lagging to dethrone that 10,000 merit mark and join that legacy on the forum and this can be shown with the image below :

It's just a matter of time we are going to get another member from this list which will soon be out of list achieving the desired mark and he is top contender ATM @fillippone who is just 124 merits behind and taking into account his average it will be this month only so best wishes to him and all other members along with him.

Will be having an eye on all of your merit stats so keep up your work all of you Wink

That’s a huge race, and I am humbled how much @o_e_l_e_o and @LoyceV have been racing toward 10K, and now I am feeling a bit of fatigue.
But I see the goal, so I won’t stop. Motivation is still high, and I have a lot of ideas for my threads, even if IRL stuff is taking me away from the forum!
Depending upon your speed you make this race looks like easy one as you are continuously progressing towards the target and I am pretty much sure you are going to be second one on this race surpassing @theymos if he didn't come up with any new announcement and he is generally not posting so much so it makes you the leading one in the race which results clearly depicts.Will update the chart soon and each time it's updated you are close to 10k merit mark so keep going with the same pace.

You have lot of ideas as you said to create some detailed and useful threads on the forum being bitcoin geek so not too hard for you man to get 592 merits only so just give one booster shot and you will be there Wink

If I'm lucky and I'm on the forum for at least another 5-6 years, I'll probably reach 10 000 merits - although then there will already be a competition for a 50k club Smiley

We all are here as one community at top level and then comes up this merit standards in which we all are having different status and for sure when you will reach there another club with 20-30k merits have been initiated on the forum but still you will be enjoying to have that 10k mark achivement on your account.

Depending on your merit stats you tab earned 601 merits in the past 150 days which takes us to the average of 4 merits per day which is good and sign of being quality poster on the forum.So if we take this into account it will take you around 4 years approximately to reach that level of 10k merits or little longer so you might not have to wait for 2028 summers  Cheesy

Rest congratulations to all the members and others also who are not into list but that doesn't imply you are not into this race but just focus on giving out your best and effective contributions on the forum making it a better place.

I guess fillippone is next to reach the race. He has earned 312 merit's in the last 30 days while theymos earned 66 merits in the previous 30 days. Others are far away from him at this moment. I wish you the best of luck fillippone. I hope you will reach the target in the next two months or earlier.

I wish you continued good health to be in the forum for a noble cause it makes the target 10k merit in 5-6 years, actually time will pass quickly and we never feel that long.
The important thing is that our thoughts are positive.  Smiley

Now 3.5k for you, I guess maybe my guess this will be less than your target range right.  Cheesy

So as we all are aware that @o_e_l_e_o has finished this race with being the first winner of this 10k race after @LoyceV managed to reach that mark earlier but other members are still in the race so thought of giving this thread a little bump with the fresh merit stats for the rest of members in this race at present who are giving out best contributions on the forum while going to the target in the meantime.

So as we have left with top 9 members now for this 10k merit race and have not added the more and will make updates for them only in this thread for the meantime.So last update was 16 days ago on 3rd May and till then members have made quite a progress in this race so here is a graph representing the merit stats for these days :

So you can clearly see how well this race is going with as expected @fillippone on the top with 268 merits in just 16 days with 17 merits average ratio daily which is really high and appreciate him for this.He is dedicated and it can be seen from his post and contribution on the forum while all others are doing well and you will see how much quality posts they are making on the forum helping members.Not only receiving merits but also sending out them at the same pace being merit sources is nice gesture.

Now the ranking for these 16 days merit stats is as follows :

Code:
@fillippone-268
@El duderino_ - 209
@LFC_Bitcoin - 202
@pooya87 - 195
@Ratimov - 174
@JayJuanGee - 163
@DdmrDdmr - 150
@suchmoon - 79
@theymos - 62

So all the best to all the members in the race and hope you all reach the desired targets and will see how fast you can finish the race so keep up the work and merits won't stop raining  Wink

I am trying hard, you don’t know how much I am trying to win this race.
But I am overwhelmed by how much I am lagging in this race.
I have been following o_e_l_e_o for a long time, and I have been constantly lagging 600 merits, with some fluctuations.

But I won’t surrender!

I believe you. Achieving a specific aim and goal is a determination, hardworking and Faith and you have all the characteristics of winning the race. I really love your methods of threads, they are very much educative. Win the trophy let celebrate.  All the best to you.

I congratulate every member on the leader board, LoyceV first got 10000 merit and followed by o_e_l_e_o, that is great. Fillippone is also doing great, I have been seen all these members including Ratimov to deserve this and they all worth an honour. I also have been tracking merit earned on BPIP for quite a long time now

https://bpip.org/Report?r=earnedmerit

o_e_l_e_o is having 9963 presently
LoyceV is having 9839 presently
fillippone is having 9237 presently

It is very near that one among them will soon reach 10000 earned merits very soon.

So we have the first winner to this race and undoubtedly he is none other than @o_e_l_e_o who has shattered the record of reaching this mark after @LoyceV and also with most earned merit tag.So congratulations to him for hitting this milestone and he has already sailed the boat with additional 23 merits now above 10k mark also

So now his name is out of this race and the competition lies with rest of the Top -9 contenders of this race and the charts will be updated shortly having the merit journey for those members. Best wishes to all of you man and keep the competitive spirit high with your effective posting skills.

Congratulations for @ o_e_l_e_o for the first winner of this race and the second person reach 10k merits here in bitcointalk. Even though the merits earning is not a competition but still it's nice to see those user who are getting more merits in the short period of time. In this juncture maybe @fillippone is the second one to win this race because  it's 700+ left to reach the 10k this is more awaited part who will be the next winner so ill stay tuned.

I wonder who wi reach 10k next. That's a lot of merits needed to reach 10k but I don't think that it won't take too long to reach it since those contender did contribute a lot. I think someone might start a poll on who will reach 10k next and who will be the last. It would be fun to guess too. Time flies very fast so will be expecting the results soon. Gotta wait for this one. Ciao Nakamura12 here.

Sometimes I wonder where @o_e_l_e_o, @LoyceV, @suchmoon , @Ratimov, @DdmrDdmr, @JayJuanGee and @fillippone derives all the energy and zest to make contributions in this forum.
The answer is simple really...

o_e_l_e_o should be one of the go-to guys when you want to learn something Bitcoin-related. If there is a thread where the OP needs help and guidance and there is a post by o_e_l_e_o there somewhere, be sure that he has covered every possible angle and provided a detailed explanation. He leaves very little room for anyone else to add something Grin (the bastard). Sometimes you feel a little ashamed how much he knows because you can't keep up with him.

Amazing, I did not know there is race for the merit earning. Wow, its 10K man, 10k!! Thats whole lot of merits and players are already crossing the 10k's in no time. That might be the best one's out there who are contributing widely to the forum. This thread should be often monitored for these players and see what they are really upto, just to get the feel for it.

I believe most of them are developing the forum, writing and solving issues which are technical and non technical I guess?

Y'all are dedicating time and effort to racing for merits?   Cheesy

I assume its worth it. In the process one understand the forum and work with opportunities and self development.
I already seeing the names here which keeps coming again and again in every thread. So its no surprise how they getting the merits.

Congrats everyone!

What I am and always think about users that have reached 10000 merits is for theymos to let them have a rank higher than legendary, they should have different title, badge which should be changed from the purple to another colour. If anyone having 1000 merits can achieve legendary while some people have even achieved this since merit was created because they had the activities required already at that time, it would be good if another rank exists that shows how some people have not only contributed but also devote their time for long period of time to help and to make sure this forum have quality posts.
What an excellent idea Tommy opinion this is. At least this will create room for more motivation for those that are already legends not to feel relaxed as they have arrived at that peak level based on 1000 merits they have already attained .

But if a unique kind of lengendary rank be created it's gonna create a distinction of legends among legends. The uniqueness acrued to such level will make a mark.

Only by that mark it will show to others the height of contributions, and duration to which such a user have given into the forum. With this everyone will not just be aiming to achieve the legend rank but striving with quality contributions and more to the forum to attain the uniqueness attached such (supposed lengendary) rank .

I become motivated with you. but where did your interesting post ideas come from? you seem to keep coming up with posts that deserve an award. I myself you can see in a few months very difficult to get appreciation. and rightfully I don't get many awards. because I really don't have any ideas about making quality posts. You shouldn't be so cruel to your infamous ego post. This post certainly has a positive effect for others and allows new users to get additional motivation to be more active on bitcointalk forum. I think this topic has had more of a beneficial effect than you can imagine.

In fact their their posts is like sitting in the classroom. Most often I feel that they have special inborn gifts of creating insightful topics and making outstanding contributions. I don't really believe that they got to this level because of the race to hit the 10k merit mark. If that was their drive many of them would have given up. But  dedication, selflessness and excellence have been their driving force. If they continue with their good works, very soon we would have a topic on 20k merits.

I would say that the merits are a consequence of the time and effort they dedicate to the forum, a side effect, not the main thing they are looking for. There are quite a few cases of members receiving merits for posts written before the merit system was introduced, so what you say would not make sense.

Merits are a way of highlighting the best.

The 10k merit table has been once again updated with the past 14 days progress report of the members and @o_e_l_e_o seems unstoppable and has also become the member with most earned merit on the forum as well so congratulations to him for the same.And he has left with only 117 merits to reach 10k merit mark after @LoyceV and become second one but first one with most number of merits.Seems i need to delete his name from this list soon  Wink

I am flattered by the amount of merits my fellow opponent can rack in a so short amount of time. The race to 10K has already a winner, but I will try to give my best for the runner up (I.e., third) position.

I am really happy looking at your level of dedication for this race and your work speaks itself like you are chasing hand to hand in this race and constantly on second number with most merits and beleive me you can easily finish on the second position if @theymos keep this shadow posts and earn little merits as most of his recent one came from the April fool's day IQ plan.So you could overtake him as there is difference of 490 merits which seems big but not for you if we have look at your merit speed.So hope for the best and you are doing great man.

Another way to look at the 10K race, for those that are interested in it at all, is from the earned merit’s perspective (excluding airdrop), where there is still game to be played.

This is a slow-paced barchart race, with frames set to a monthly granularity, but accounting for all earned merits to date (i.e. this morning’s merit.txt file update):
https://public.tableau.com/shared/W77ZZ9QG9?:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link

Press the play button on the right hand side of the screen to initiate the motion (you may need to press stop and play to get it working).

Note:
The above char has been on the Dashboard for some time. It’s meant to be more general purpose, thus I haven’t given a distinct colour per profile. Bars do not shift in accordance to position, which I sometimes prefer not happening.

The thread has been updated once again with 7 days overall merit experience and you can check it in the @OP if you wish to do so.

Once again @o_e_l_e_o is leading the race far from all of them and within few days he's gonna touch this mark with his merits spree and reluctant speed of earning merits with his knowledge sharing and helping the members.

It seems @fillippone has also paced up a little with merit ignition and is on second place again as expected and see how @theymos has shifted to the last rank with only 2 merits in last 3 days and other have crossed him easily.This race is quite interesting to have an eye upon and congratulations and best wishes to all of them again.Will update the details soon.

@El duderino_ -1618
How weird it might sound, I haven't come across this user anywhere in the forum. I wonder where he gets the big number merits from. #respect
He is the one of the pre-dominant member of the WO thread and quite active there so if you have not visited this thread you might not be familiar with him.He is hat gang member and one of the most generous merit source in that thread also.

If you want to check out his profile and wants to be more familiar about him you can visit his profile    El duderino_

Congratulations all, in 5 years from now, I could be here.
Why not if you have the potential to reach there you can surely have 10k on your profile but see how much the members on the list has contributed over these years to fulfill this and still lot to go.So we can say it's not easy nor tough if you understand it.

Well, I don't really know what to say about this, but 10k is really much that many people may never achieve it till they quit the forum. Let me give my personal evaluation on this list.

@ o_e_l_e_o   -293
He is very active in the forum and especially in technical board where he has answers many questions and try to bring solution to every problem. Since LoyceV has gotten to 10k, the next person I expect to reach that milestone is o_e_l_e_o.

@theymos      -444
This is the "Oga kpata kpata of them all". He does not post very often but when he does, alot of merits will follow him. If he wants to get to 10k merits before weekend, he could drop an April 15 fool post Grin. He is the Absolute Hero of  Good.

@fillippone   -1027
This user makes alot of quality posts that solve many problems. He needs to be appointed the P.R.O(Public Related Officer) of the forum. He has information from the public that concerns this forum and he  have good knowledge of what is happening in different countries. Fillippone can you please tell me what is happening in my country Nigeria?. He is a good distributor of merits and he likes the number 3 when giving merits. I am expecting 3 merits from him on this post. Grin If he recieve merits as much as he gives out, he could reach the 10k club sooner.

@El duderino_ -1618
How weird it might sound, I haven't come across this user anywhere in the forum. I wonder where he gets the big number merits from. #respect

@suchmoon     -2294
I have seen him, but most times he comes in where there is an argument and chip in some words to settle them. I believe there was when he was hotter in the forum, maybe I wasn't born then.

@Ratimov      -2598
Beginners and help king. He is always there doing great works and great spam burster. His journey to 10k club will happen soon than expected.

@DdmrDdmr     -2822
Always find a way to notice good posts that was not merited and drop merit there. Answers questions regularly in the forum. He will reach 10k merit club soon.

@LFC_Bitcoin  -3563
I confuse him with ETFBitcoin and it is ETFBitcoin I see often in the forum.

@pooya87      -3669
I know him from the technical boards and Bitcoin Discussion. He is always active and will reach 10k merit club but not so fast.

@JayJuanGee   -3903
What more can I say about him, I already created a thread for him https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.59403066

Congratulations all, in 5 years from now, I could be here.

Anybody following @n0nce? That one is rocket on fire, could catch 10k before dawn, considering his merit rate.
No, that is unlikely. N0nce has less than 2k merit, and o_e_l_e_o and theymos both need less than 500 merit to reach 10k. I think it is most likely that one of them will reach 10k within a month.
Maybe next month there's another 10k merit club member within theymos and o_e_l_e_o and then this year more to be followed and for sure LoyceV will feel happy if there's another 10k merits cause she is not alone. And about n0nce I think he can reach 10k merits next year but if his merits will be fast and fast maybe in the end of the year he can reach.

Very motivating to see these guys racing up with the time. No doubt about LoyceV, he is always ahead of @theymos. The contribution to the forum is just astounding and he never stops so yup, he deserves as standard line for all of us and mainly for the racers in the OP's list. Thanks for sharing these graphics. Looks like it is time to follow all these buddies and see what I can do more for the forum. I always want to dive into technical discussions and contribute there but because being from the life science field Im lagging a bit there. Though I keep trying to learn new technical aspect related to crypto space and do share them all the time. Just stay tune, I am inspired by you guys. Thanks.  Grin

I am trying hard, you don’t know how much I am trying to win this race.
But I am overwhelmed by how much I am lagging in this race.
I have been following o_e_l_e_o for a long time, and I have been constantly lagging 600 merits, with some fluctuations.

But I won’t surrender!
I am fully awared of the fact how much passionate you are about bitcoin and this forum which has helped you to attain high rank in the forum.You are definitely going to finish this 10k race but maybe after @o_e_l_e_o because covering that many merits is hard as he is also going with good pace and having really strong quads.

But you can finish in the second place after him which I can assume from the fact that @theymos is not much active writing up posts and that's why get less merits.He has got most number of merits on those two days for April fool days and rest number are less and even not for some days while you have merit spree over these days.So be confident and move this race and you will surely finish it sooner than you have expected.

Are you going to update the date and numbers of merit? I assume "NO." If not, these Stats will hint at how they were going on those days, and they will be useless in the future.
Are you going to follow them and update the thread till someone hits the 10K mark? I guess you can recheck once a week.
This was just a representation of the past 10 days comparison of the top 10 members on the merit board to check the status of how this can end at some point.The data can be updated for the merits left to 10k mark for each member and how much they have earned till the time but making charts and each days merit stats is not much of use in long run.So what I can do is update the thread with these stats and once anyone hit that mark could be out of list.But will think about it.

I’ve been chilling a bit in recent weeks. The bull market seems over, maybe I’m less motivated after taking life changing money out of this game for the first time since 2014 (only 25% of my stash, don’t worry).

I predict people will start passing me in the merit table now as I DGAF much these days.
Yeah you have your priorities sorted and enjoying after selling your 25% of old stash which is cool and have bought a house also if i am right? See you DGAF but still you are getting appreciation for your posts in form of merits and competing in this race. Wink

That's cool as I didn't check the registration date for anyone in the list but they both are giving out their best to the forum and being reputed member of the forum.But as @LFC_Bitcoin is enjoying his personal life while still active over the forum and merits comparison for both of them I assume @pooya87 have higher chance of hitting that mark first with his technical knowledge but will still see that is there any turn after some time.

By the way thanks for updating the data with your charts and at first I want to use it but then was making for only 10 days and as you said it was messy so i decided to make individually for all of them to give clear picture for each day.

Dang, I wasn't aware of that fact (though it doesn't come as a surprise to me whatsoever).  That's some rarified air, as there are only a handful of current members who'd ever stand a chance of hitting the 10k mark.  Maybe some new, brilliant poster like nullius will come along eventually and blow up and through all the ranks and get to that many merits, but just given the history of how things go on the forum, it's not likely.
Yeah that was surprising for many but as I was keeping an eye on his record and he even shared it here so was not big surprise for us.Those members in the top 10 will make to that 10k mark but you see still there is huge gap for even members in bottom group and will take time to reach there.But yes some new members who are growing fast on the forum like @n0nce have paved their way on the forum with their effective contributions over the forum as he is having 1922 merits at this time and will be memeber of 2k club and that's appreciated.But still many are going the same old way of spamming and that's of no use.

Edit: The list has been updated with merit stats like how far they are from 10k mark and how many they have earned till now so you can check it how the race is going with @o_e_l_e_o gaining highest merits and @fillippone also pacing up fast.See i told you earlier also you can make it faster then as expected.So best of luck to all the members on this race.

Lol, in my particular case, I see it as far away the 10K merits mark. How long have you been on the forum on average?
Experience in the forum, in crypto are important factors but not all of old members or crypto grand-father becomes knowledgeable and valuable with time. Each person is the one who decide who (s)he is and what contribution to make.

In other words, total earned merit or total merit can give a stranger on the forum a first impression but it is just a number and does not indicate who you are. How you earn merit and efforts behind each post, each merit you earn make more sense.

I meant you are still valuable asset of the forum even you just earned 1000 merit and two members with 2000 earned merit might have different contributions on the forum.

Lol, in my particular case, I see it as far away the 10K merits mark. How long have you been on the forum on average? theymos since 2010, LoyceV since 2015, maybe the "youngest" in that list is fillipone? He registered in 2018.

Although the merit system went into effect in January 2018 but many on this list receive merits for posts written earlier.

Well, now I see that mark far but maybe with a few more years on the forum I can reach it. Although I guess by then LoyceV and others will be going for 20K at least.

Even though theymos is in second place, the race is theymos' to lose. Theymos does not post very much, but when he does, he often gets a lot of merit. If theymos were to add a new feature, or make an announcement of some sort, he would likely quickly hit 10k while making just one post.

o_e_l_e_o posts much more, and even though nearly all of his posts are insightful, a lower percentage of them receive merit, and when he does receive merit, he often receives less merit for each post that receives merit.

I don't follow fillippone's nor El duderino_'s posts very closely, however I think they will likely hit 10k, but will probably not be first. If o_e_l_e_o were to suddenly become inactive (and theymos does not hit 10k first), one of them may be the first. I cant see any of the others hitting 10k first.

Last update is in January 2022 but you can make your request, then LoyceV will proceed it for you, I believe.
I wasted the last hour trying to make a new graph, but I can't get LibreOffice to do it. These 20 users give 41,533 lines of data, and my current graph ends at 40,000 rows. Extending it messes it up, and starting from scratch doesn't work either.
Feel free to try, here is the data.
Code:
1188543 35 1852120 1067333 234771 2627711 1582324 379487 379147 252510

LoyceV is available with that old topic - LoyceV vs theymos (and get your own Merit graph: up to 20 users per graph). It is available up to 20 members per graph so it does satisfy your need.

If you go into your research and make an "All you wanted to know..." topic, hundreds of merits will arrive Grin

You make it like it is an easy task!
Those threads require extensive work and research to make of adequate quality. For sure they grant a lot of merits, but also require interesting topic. If you have suggestions, please contact me...

You've got some drive in you, m'man.  And then there's me, content with what I've got in terms of merits and my little position as a merit source.  I'm a couch potato compared to you guys.  Well, I'm pretty much one of those anyway, so.

Good luck to all those frantically trying to earn 10k merits.  I'd love to help out, but if you've even got one toe in the race you probably don't need any help from me or any other merit source.

I used the search feature to check for threads requesting for a new rank after legendary, there are many of them you should read:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/what-if-theymos-added-new-rank-after-legendary-5212330
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3039477.20
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/above-legendary-rank-2945590
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/extended-ranks-proposal-5387902
The consensus seems to be, not bad but unnecessary or irrelevant and wouldn't yield anything.

Even without someone making statistics for this race then I'm sure you too will be interested in winning this race sooner or later. 10K merit is a great display for all users but we have to realize that it will only be achieved by a certain few users who have great contributions on the forum quickly and I'm sure you are one of them. o_e_l_e_o and theymos may be right in front of you, but you'll get there soon too.

So we all are aware that 10k merit club is now already active with @LoyceV achieving it few months back and now other members are also heading towards to the same throne and become the member
of 10K club.So here is the presentation for the top 10 merit earners over the forum excluding @LoyceV as he has already achieved this target.

So in this thread I collected the merit summary of top-10 members of the forum to analyze how fast they will achieve the 10k merit target.I have gathered past 10 days merit summary for them and
the comparison is done on this basis just to have an raw idea about thier merits spree,speed and forum contributions.

I have divided the members into two groups with top-5 and bottom-5 who are growing fast over the forum gaining merits to reach 10K club

NOTE: There could be some chnages after i am writing up this post as members receive merits after that also and will update the charts later on accordingly

So here are the members and their remaining merits to reach 10K Merits :

@o_e_l_e_o   -117
@theymos      -280
@fillippone   -124
@El duderino_ -1074
