I believe New gpus wont be optimal for mining, they adding new layer of block focused in gaming related performance, and raw performance isnt far jumping from predecessor, ray tracing taking lot of performance and they figure out with running low internal resolution and stretch it with ai, as we know, now days many games run under native internal resolution, and nobody complains about it.
Nvidia is in a similar situation. Their video cards also have ray tracing processors that do not work in mining, but green video cards work fine in mining. Optimization of miners for AMD video cards requires more time, from 3 to 6 months.

I found the hashrate of Radeon RX 7900 XT. So far this is a very weak result.
Ethash 83.00 Mh/s @ 280W
Ethash4G 83.00 Mh/s @ 280W
kHeavyHash 900.00 Mh/s @ 280W
https://whattomine.com/gpus/82-amd-radeon-rx-7900-xt?cost=0.05&cost_currency=USD

This is a very large power consumption and additional cooling will be required.

lolMiner 1.65 added experimental support for AMD RX7900 series yesterday.
Supported algorithms: Et(c)hash, kHeavyHash and the corresponding dual mining

When we can expect miner updates to support 7900 GPUs?
AMD RX 7900 series won't Mine Crypto...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OROYDtAncnU
Maybe in a week, or maybe in a month, miners will be updated, and for a few more months, developers will increase performance on popular palgorithms. Now mining is still unprofitable on expensive video cards due to the large payback.

AFAIK SRBMiner-MULTI already has support added for RX 7000 series cards.
Have you seen mining tests?
I did not find this information on the Internet and mining groups.
The update was only on December 17, and my post was earlier.
I am sure that not all algorithms will be implemented in the first versions of the miners and the hashrate with energy consumption will not be the best.

V1.1.4
+ Added support for gfx1100 (RDNA3 : RX 7900) GPU's
+ Fixed hashrate regression on 'autolykos2' algorithm for Vega/Ellesmere GPU's that was introduced unintentionally in an earlier version
+ Renamed '--adl-disable' parameter to '--gpu-sensors-disable'
+ Minor bug fixes

When we can expect miner updates to support 7900 GPUs?

Currently WildRig Multi and SRBMiner Multi are supporting RDNA3.
Team Red Miner which is a very popular miner for AMD card doesn't support RDNA3 yet.
I have asked them when they will release a new version.

It is said that AMD will release three parts, namely Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 5 7600 SKU. The main difference between those parts and existing models is limited default power, likely from 170W to 65W.

https://videocardz.com/newz/alleged-amd-ryzen-7900-7700-7600-non-x-specs-and-prices-emerge-launching-in-q1-2023
does that mean it's the same hardware but gimped on purpose to justify the price tag?
News does not give complete information. We need to wait for the tests of these processors.
Not all chips are produced without defects, so defective chips are often used in processors and video cards of cheaper models. Sometimes a new model is even developed for this purpose.

Hardware leaker chi11eddog claims to know the specs of three Ryzen 7000 CPUs that have not yet been released. This is actually an update to our 7000 non-X series coverage, which we have been reporting on for at least a month now.

Today, AMD announced its first Radeon RX 7000 desktop cards, starting with the high-end 7900 series.
The third generation RDNA architecture is finally here. The company introduces Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics cards. The first features a full Navi 31 GPU with 12288 FP32 cores (or 6144 Stream Processors), while the latter is based on a cut-down GPU with 10752 FP32 cores.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX to compete with GeForce RTX 4080

[Radeon RX 7900 XTX] is designed to go against 4080 and we don’t have benchmarks numbers on 4080. That’s the primary reason why you didnt see any NVIDIA compares. […] $999 card is not a 4090 competitor, which costs 60% more, this is a 4080 competitor.

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-rx-7900-xtx-is-rtx-4080-competitor-fsr3-may-be-supported-by-pre-rdna3-architectures

Looks like AMD has only to gain from the 7000 series,I expect them to have even lower versions than 7900 which is the high end one and that they said will have a cost of 999 dollars.Nvidia should fix their connector problem in the 4090 as they have not done a perfect hardware there and many owners are suffering from that "fire hazard" video card.

Nowadays though it does not make a lot of sense how good a card is for us miners as everything is in red for us but the more cards we have available to buy the better will be for us as we prepare for the next bull run.

NVIDIA RTX 4090 prices will start at 1,999 EUR, which is just 50 EUR more than MSRP (or the price for Founders Edition). It is worth noting that we have already seen these cards at an even lower price (1,899 EUR) in Spain, but at that time the store had none in stock and the price has since then increased by 60 EUR to 1,959 EUR.
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-already-in-stock-in-europe-priced-at-1999-to-2549-eur
The main question is how much will the Radeon RX 7000 cost?

The Radeon has always been somewhat cheaper compared to Nvidia and I think this will be the case again with 7000 series, the real question is how much cheaper will it be?If it can be less than 1000 EUR and offer a great performance both in gaming, rendering and mining then I am convinced this card price will attract every mentioned category here, gamers, architects and miners. The smart miners are the ones who continue mining ETHW right now which Binance created a pool for mining it.

The price of RTX 4090 is not at all appealing so most likely it will be a war won by the 7000 series of AMD.
So I am a stupid miner Smiley, because with my tariff of 5 cents per kilowatt, mining the ETHW coin is unprofitable. It’s more profitable for me to buy ETHW for a few hundred dollars that I pay for electricity and spend on maintenance, and wait for the price to rise.

I hope this time 7700 will be good card for miners in these hard times.

It surely can be if the miner factors in that right now no coin is profitable but the miner wants to have a card to mine alternative coins or the ETHW and collect as many of them right now that the difficulty is low.We all know that nothing is profitable right now but what we really should know is that for the bold ones now is the perfect time to prepare for the next bull run.Of course having cheap electricity would greatly help in such scenario.

Personally I am buying old 3060 ti cards for really cheap, just building the rig but not turning it on until January 1 2023 where hopefully we will have 5x energy price removed.Depending on the hash rate of the 7000 series and the price I may even buy one or two of these.
