How do people get these awesome addresses?

Isn't there a way to just quickly create them and then make a new one a couple seconds after? I really don't know :/

The most remarkable addresses (*) found in the blockchain will be listed below.

Hall of Fame
------------

1234mNnAPb8YnCsbacaNhB4BqwxB4U4321      (2016-04-27: 8-character palindrome address - owner: xhomerx10)

I like pony this address and other all are simply non sense. It makes sense to have such a unique and awesome address which starts with 1234 and ends with same in opposition order. Other all address mentioned are not so rare address which would have hall of fame.

OP doesn't seem to be very active but since last edited the thread a few months ago, perhaps it's worth pointing out that he should replace the blockexplorer.com links as the site doesn't seem to have been maintained.

For 36 of the last 48 hours have been tinkering with the settings and come up with these candidates:

Code:
123p5TocewLtcn8RGSw9bEX8mwz3XKJQKA

1888g6j43hfAJNasMZwQdk84SCiRRkv888
1AAAdKnQFZRP3ARBy2p8yjzSA6xYxTHAAA
1JJJrcXjxECVey39Eg72zHQWEDGP4eqJJJ
1MMMMGhox5YvX9AkfS5MtTxMLve2MGEMMM <--- 4 "M"'s at lead and three "M"'s at end...
1PPP5fA4ZQTDVHv4vxYhduJckQ7kYH3PPP

The first one is a deck of cards 1,2,3 ... Jack, Queen, King, Ace...

I thought with the eight eights I posted a few days ago, with these I'd add a number / letter at the leading end then at the trailing end alternately when a Wallet Address is found.

Your address (1MMMMGhox5YvX9AkfS5MtTxMLve2MGEMMM) not only has the four "M"'s at the beginning and three at the end, but a total of NINE "M"'s in all.  In my casual browsing around on my own and at this thread, I have not seen that many of the same character in any address.

The most I have ever dealt with was five "M"'s, my address at my profile has four "P"'s, and earlier today I received some BTC at my address with for "E"'s.

I do not use the vanity address generators, just personal observations.

I think if Vanitygen were adjusted in such a way there might be some initial confusion about what the program is searching for.

Searching for the start/end slowed my box down searching with the GPU's at the same time, I saw the -t 3 in the other thread and have given that a go which looks promising.

Searching for palindromes will take a while. I did find Address: 1LLLLLgCCCCDSbimB83vZf3AbACYcFzo6o, although it's not what I was looking for.

I searched overnight for long prefixes with 5 characters after the 1, just enough to justify using oclvanitygen.

Address: 1LLLLL6CD9xadxzM577JUU9T6VvmKUJ8pw
Privkey: 5KAWeKw9pcoyS6vjtU92nckvvMMMMTfLzbGeVXorGRMcu27tmet
After checking some private keys, I realized it's stupid Tongue It would be possible to adjust vanitygen in such a way that it uses a certain private key prefix (say 5AAAAAAA) and search from there. And I'm not going to do that, it's less secure, and I can't adjust vanitygen by myself.

So I'll limit my palindrome-search to the address.

This one's a little silly:

1MdxK1BVKBMTv8VdBTKy8Kx3BBvVvK8vyd

Contains only twelve unique characters.

Generating addresses with no repeated characters is trivially easy.

Interesting post.

Here's my latest candidate:

Longest place-name, real or otherwise.

Timelord, for a challenge, how about finding a vanity addy with the prefix somewhere in the private key? This is the best I've got:

You're welcome to search for those, I won't be participating as once a private key is made public, it is always worthless.

It might be faster to use oclvanitygen and a file dump but I think the file would become extremely large.
oclvanitygen needs about 1 second to start up, which makes it slower than vanitygen for short strings.
140,000 addresses was just 17 MB, so it's not a limitation.

Maybe we need a rare private key thread?  I've noticed some cool things in private keys as well Wink
Make one and link it here Cheesy The only problem is, once you do, the key is worthless.
My computer is still searching for matches from my 25000 words in the 140000 addresses. No match yet. I am only searching for long words.

A manual search for short words:
Address: 1234FU3xLWm16vCT2DTqxNsfa7mVsBMV4k

In order to better the first one, you would need the format ABCDE*EDCBA as the one I bested was 123*321 so you might tie mine but I believe you have to beat it to get it listed.
After finding 1234imbqWvqq1nNUgDxQ2wrg1R7GBZF321 in minutes, I didn't find another one ending on 321 all night. I have 141247 addresses starting with 1234 now. Two of these have a private key ending on 321:

Address: 12342YbDeQgi3dz4hcYiN5WRrth5MisEan
Privkey: 5HwRHBe1xQc4PgPGUUG8foi7ZAqLc2Qa6V1WbTkzjcYbrijj321

Address: 1234SGdyL9rDCjVdkTYySaTvJZNoyHEBBi
Privkey: 5J82rcTpLRfdh67SutpSj5AMXuMG8y3bc2bE2kR1bzS6YmMq321

I know it's totally useless having a vanity private key, as you can only use it to show off by posting it. I'll search my long list through these 142247 keys for matches, it might take a while.

Finding 1234xxxxxxxxx4321 can't be that hard, right?

Not sure of any other way to search for that form of other than to set the keep searching switch to er, keep searching to a dump file and then sift through what you've found.
I was indeed just writing output to a file.

There is a way to search for matches at the end.   Use a regex search with the -r option and $ matches end of string.  ^ is supposed to match the beginning of the string but it doesn't work properly in vanitygen for some reason.  I believe it was shorena who figured out that ^^ does work in vanitygen for matching beginning of string though.  I can't find the reference so I'm going with my memory on that; apologies if it was someone else.

Code:
vanitygen -k -r ^^123.*321$

This will search for the 123 pattern at the beginning and 321 at the end.  Obviously it doesn't have to be a numerical progression but certainly it will have to begin and end with a 1 Wink

How do you determine the criteria for "pronounceable" addy though?

"1ANoNYMURccWEEGMoMTozTtjBj7CmtRZdb      (2014-01-24: longest pronounceable prefix - owner: Nikinger)"

I would say, vowels. Notice there are no vowels in "CCW" or "TtjBj7cmtrzdb"

Agreed ANoN is just an abbreviation... "We" or "Mom" (which is the North American way to spell "Mum") don't really count.

1PoLymathxkzDAULEum2sSVmPnzcoYfaUP beats that one hands down.

Can't recall the command to search the tail (or middle) end for a pattern, but AFAIK you can't search for at both ends simultaneously?
