Does that mean that, if you buy GLX on Cryptsy, they'll dissapear once they update their wallet?
/noob question

Hmmm, that's actually a good question. I'd hold off on purchases of GLX until I get word from them that they are indeed on the new fork.

I do know they are working on it because the ticket I sent to them was updated a few times but not with a resolution yet.

Still waiting on Cryptsy to update their wallet.

In the meantime I will look into seeing how hard/easy it is to get a Mac Wallet going.

If anyone has any non-forking suggestions for this coin that would be welcome as well.

Made edits to the Linux install script; it should run a little better now as it checks for and give you options to install dependencies.

Still needs to be tested on more platforms though so feedback and testing welcome.

works on ubuntu 12.04

Excellent. Thank you for testing.

No one is mining on my Galaxycoinpool - despite being one of the first (well second) to use the new fork.

http://glx.verters.com

Let me know if I should just take it down and save myself the effort of supporting this coin.

Please, leave it up.

I'll see if I can get some hash your way

Sending some as well now.

It's due to the fact that the fork did break a little bit of the infrastructure that we had.

Once the exchange issues are fixed and most folks are on the new fork then we can look into promoting this coin and get people interested again.

We should also look into adding new features, etc. that won't require a fork such as a Mac-wallet, etc.

But, we do ask for your patience for the time being.

Hello,

As you know, the GalaxyCoin (GLX) alt-currency recently just forked. You may review the thread on BitCoinTalk.org here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/re-ann-galaxycoin-revival-kgw-pospow-hybrid-trading-on-cryptsy-495693

While we are very grateful that you did indeed update your client to the new available daemon; we do believe that you are on the old fork. As of this writing the correct GalaxyCoin 2.0 fork is now at block 256403 with a difficulty of 0.95~ while your website current shows a difficulty of 6.09~. (Pulling information from here: https://www.cryptsy.com/currencies/view/62)

So, we have made it easy for folks to get on the new fork:

We believe once that is done we should have everything good to go.

Feel free to contact me or folks on the BitCoinTalk.org thread if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you for your time.

On another pool, I'm seeing the last block found as 256000.

This seems right. As far as I know there is only the "old" and "new" forks. Thank goodness there aren't more than two Smiley

Nah my pools hashrate is nothing like that, is there a block explorer? This very moment I'm at block 249841, I'd like to make sure I'm on the right chain as I'm not too sure I am!

You're on the wrong fork. Review the thread to load my blockchain, etc.

Difficulty seems to have settled down from the extreme 16 earlier, although I can see it is still changing rapidly... here's a 1024 times increase (!) in less than 6 minutes:

17-Mar-2014 02:40:29 height: 256160  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.0007302  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:40:30 height: 256161  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.00146041  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:40:32 height: 256162  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.00292083  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:40:39 height: 256163  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.00584173  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:40:46 height: 256164  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.01168345  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:40:47 height: 256165  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.0233669  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:40:50 height: 256166  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.0467338  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:41:04 height: 256167  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.09346761  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:41:11 height: 256168  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.18693522  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:41:28 height: 256169  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.37387043  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 1
17-Mar-2014 02:46:13 height: 256170  mint: 64  difficulty: 0.74774086  flags: proof-of-work  tx: 2

Then a few minutes later it's back down to 0.00410079. It seems to be a fairly steady pattern of rapid increase, slow decay.

Any word on getting cryptsy onto the new fork?

They sure did; Network hashrate is now at 1.09~ GH/s according to my pool software.
I'm guessing Tom's pool
