I think buying from individu is not recommended, there are a lot scammer, even though sometimes buying from individual the price is higher, but i prefer buying from exchanger its more secure and more trustable
I thnk the only reason for that is, they do not know about exchange, or they will feel fear about sending their money to any exchange because of lack of knowledge. Otherwise there is no any problem to buy cheaper on exchanges.
Fear about sending money to an exchange is the main reason they do this. But like many things if you inform yourself about it, you know it can be safe.
Just watch out for a trustable exchange.
That is one of the factor they are afraid of since they're are lost deposit/withdrawal issue's happening especially on yobit so maybe thats the reason why some people intend to buy on individual just to make sure that they wont get compromise from it, and their are other people wants to buy cheap altcoin to individual traders so they they can accumulate more altcoin at the cheaper price and the cheaper they can get the more profit they can accumulate And that is the most reason for people to buy coins to their fellow trader.

The only limit to a trade is how much you both have. You don't need to follow KYC and AML laws, you won't be scammed by the exchange(depends on the exchange) and trader(depends on the trader as well.)

I also like to buy it from individuals, simply because sometimes they offer fairly good price, much better than any exchange.

Yeah if you have a trusted person, it is much easier and cheaper to buy from exchanger. The individual will not charge you extra fee and you will get better rates as compared to exchanger.
that is actually quite the opposite.
individuals will surely sell you bitcoin at higher price of the market, if you don't believe me go check localbitcoins.com now and see for yourself it is sometimes even $50 above market price.
because individuals unlike an exchange can only make a profit if they sell it higher and buy it lower.

I having a person is I trust him for selling my bitcoin into him and the experience I can get for selling with the personal is faster and no need a various requirement like verification. but just deal and the amount is sending into my bank account. and lower fees become on of important factor. but I bought to a trusted person, sometimes also lower fee than exchanger.

What are the possible reasons why someone will prefer to buy btc or any other crypto to someone from the forum particularly than on the exchange sites?
i am not recommended to buy from individual on the forum, any forums unless you know that person individually. we have to trust someone before we have make a deal with him/her, so better buy from person which we already know. and i think if we don't know anything, we can buy from market exchange.
This way you won't make and succeed any business in life.
Think about it: do the millionaires and.. basically any businessman deal with acquaintances and close friends? No, the most work is done with complete strangers. We have to deal with it. My friends and family, for example, don't have BTC. They got just a small amount (<$10) max. So where should I buy from..? Exchange websites can be scams too. Bitfinex was, so.. I guess we shouldn't trust anything ever then.
While I hate to give advice about buying btc from users in the forum is better than on exchanges, i might just advice instead to simple submit IDs for safer transaction, its going to be less scammy. You'd be suspected as scammer as well if you want to pay thru paypal in exchange of bitcoin if you buy from an individual.

2. Wants to buy/sell a large volume. People often open a thread for this. Often times, they get a discount when buying from an individual instead of buying from an exchanging site.
3. The buyer only have fiat or the seller only wants fiat. They can do meetups if this is the case. There's no exchanging site that gives you fiat directly in exchange to your coins and there is also no exchanging site that accepts paper money directly in exchange to coins.
4. They just don't. Some people just don't use exchanging websites like YoBit for some personal reasons.

Anonymity from government is the first thing that comes to mind. A chance to meet a fellow bitcoiner might be a second. And meeting in a public place makes it harder to scam. Face to face transactions do sound pretty cool. I've never done one yet, because it's pretty easy to just use an exchange and much faster. Even a bitcoin ATM would be easier.
According to me There is only One Reason Of Buying Bitcoins From an Individual That Is You have To Submit Your Documents For Buying High Amounts Of Btc on Mostly Sites and No One Wants To Disclose Their Identity.......

No need to provide ID and alot better rates.
Maybe he/she wants to buy in bulk and that certain individual gives a discount for bulk offers. Some people even sell their coins lower than the market price regardless of how money you are buying. Some people don't want to or unable to upload any documents on the Internet. Some people just want to stay anonymous and all website that lets you exchange your cash into BTC requires you to upload an ID. Some people don't even have a valid ID to get qualified even if they want to.

The other reason could be that some times someone is in urgent need of money or for other reason wants to sell his coin at lower than market rates
