did anyone already instaled the silk wallet in windows server 2008? and another doubt is the size of the wallet after the sync... is it really 20GB?

It's running on every Windows since XP
And the size of the current datafolder is 33MB

you mean 33GB right?   Shocked Shocked
im talking about the wallet after full sync and at the start of the instalation it says 20GB, i'll put it in a VPS so i need to know how much storage i will need.

Just a question , do u think that a 33GB data folder would fit on an 8GB SD-Card in an Raspberry Pi ?
The Datafolder is always the same and also the same size

We are currently at the beginning of the Chain, so the Datafolder will also get bigger
But when u install a Windows Server 2008 then u can easy add 5GB more HDD and u will not have any problems in the future

thanks! i'll do the instalation then.
hope you didnt get me wrong, my intention werent to offend you... i was skeptical about what you said because of that:

in portuguese it says to me it will need AT LEAST 20gb(and yeah, i was shocked too... i know it's the start of the blockchain, but..)

again, thanks for your help! i'll start the instalation right now Grin

---DarkSilk(DSLK) ICO---

Time Period: 10PM EST Friday 23rd September - 10PM EST Sunday 23rd October

DARKSILK(DSLK) LAUNCHES ON THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER 2016

To fund further development and innovation by the Silk Network team, there will be a four week long crowdfunding campaign held on Weaver.

Out of a total 4,000,000 DarkSilk(DSLK) initial fund, there will potentially be 1,528,000 available for sale and the price will not be set (fixed).

Instead, the week with the most demand sets the price (volatility sets price) for the whole of the ICO:

MAX(PRICEWEEK(N) ([AMOUNT] BTC x 4 / 1,528,000 DSLK))

After 4 weeks, price is established and for the amount of BTC that has been raised by an investor, DSLK will be issued through Weaver. There will be a minimum and maximum allowable price:

MIN PRICE: 0.25 USD (Capped)
MAX PRICE: 2.50 USD (Capped)

We set these upper and lower limits to protect both the project against low demand
and investors against high demand to take the following two extreme scenarios into consideration.

Insufficient Demand
Price is set at USD 0.25 and a lot of DSLK will remain as collateral in Weaver.
This protects the project in case market value is negatively disproportionate to our estimated value.

Excess Demand
Price is set at USD 2.50 and DSLK will be sold out in Week(n), for this to happen USD 3,533,500 needs to be raised.

We want to reward early contributors, so there will be four tiers of bonuses; one for each week:

Tier 1: contributors during week one will receive a bonus of 15% more DarkSilk.
Tier 2: contributors during week two will receive a bonus of 10% more DarkSilk.
Tier 3: contributors during week three will receive a bonus of 5% more DarkSilk.
Tier 4: contributors during the last week will not receive a bonus.

How to take part:
1. Signup or Login on Weaver
2. Navigate to Main Menu->Wallet->Addresses
3. Deposit BTC to the "Bitcoin (ICO)" address

Your overview page will then update to show the Bitcoin transaction
and the balance within your Bitcoin(ICO) wallet will also reflect your deposit.

Once per hour the Bitcoin from Weaver is transferred to the 4/6 MultiSig CoPay BTC Wallet
4/6 MultiSig Address: 3P5sqo9JmUPL3Xsf3Zbb9wUi9EyCRnYPcV

ANNOUNCEMENT

Starting the 2nd week of the DarkSilk(DSLK) ICO we will be accepting Silk(SLK) payments at a 25:1 conversion rate.
Having monitored the reception of the DarkSilk(DSLK) ICO and the opening of the Silk(SLK) market on Bittrex we came to the following conclusions:

• The sell pressure in Silk(SLK) has been significant at a $0.01 rate.
• DarkSilk (DSLK) demand reaffirms a $0.25 price point.

To reduce excess Silk(SLK) liquidity on the market and to stabilise its price we will allow for Silk(SLK) payments to be made for the DarkSilk(DSLK) ICO. Greater DarkSilk(DSLK) distribution at a fair price is a welcome benefit. Silk(SLK) payments will not be eligible for bonus receivables.

The process for SLK payments will be the same as for BTC payments.

COMMUNTY INVOLVEMENT

We Want You!
Join us on slack, get involved!

Consumer privacy is an increasingly important subject in the world today. DarkSilk(DSLK) offers its user-base the ability to send digital cash anonymously and instantly. With in-wallet features such as Sandstorm and Stealth Addresses, mixing coins and secure anonymity has never been easier.

The importance of a stable economy is known to us all. The value of DarkSilk will be kept in check using a stabilisation method via Weaver. DarkSIlk is balanced by an advanced algorithm that transfers high price impact and price fluctuations to Silk. This method dampens price oscillations by managing DarkSilk supply and using Silk(SLK) as a security asset.

DarkSilk utilises Stormnodes as the 2nd tier of security for the network. Stormnodes pay 0.382DSLK per reward allowing for significant ROI to be achieved. For example, a Stormnode count of 500 nodes would result in a 37.7% ROI. Stormnodes also allow users to propose and vote on budgets. Each month a budgeting block gets distributed to the highest voted proposals. The size of the budgeting block is 10,000DSLK which is a welcoming amount to those projects in need of funding.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Unlike you I had no more stake rewards since then. They stopped as soon as I got that message: I was getting at least one stake reward per hour.
That's strange.

That's my silk.conf file, maybe that will help

Thanks ttoroie but I does not help. Still getting no connections when updating the silk.conf file and even by adding nodes manually the situation does not change.
It seems I have to wait for the wallet update.

if u have added addnodes in your conf then try do delete the peers.dat file
replace it could work too, but when u have addnodes then its build by the client itself

im currently compiling SLK on one of my raspberry pi's , but dont have SLK to test it, so i only can post an howto

I had this problem too last weekend. You need to replace your peer.dat file. Try go get it from a friend who's wallet has connection with the network. Or I can send you a copy of mine tonight when i'm home.

Such a huge drop in price  Huh Sad Cry

Someone wanted out.  No biggie, let the traders trade.  As stated before, once DSLK ICO is over SLK will rocket up.  Short term volatility is to be expected.  Should stabilize out in the long run but DSLK will be the most stable in the end.  SLK will have fluctuations but I would hedge my bet on SLK for price swings.

My view...

SLK = stock market
DSLK = forex

Everyone has their own preference...

Do you have the first line in your conf file?
stakegen=1

did you split your silk?

I'm on win64 wallet
you might try other versions for your wallet as well and see how it works

Concerning the "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for the blockchain to download, or notify developers of the issue" message.

Everyone can ignore this message as it causes no issues to functionality of the wallet.

This will be gone in the upcoming release of Silk(SLK) version 1.0.1.0

Spencer Lievens has just committed a pull request - https://github.com/SilkNetwork/Silk-Core/pull/29

Which fixes this issue - https://github.com/SilkNetwork/Silk-Core/issues/28

Just seen that message,
but you're right - we can ignore it since my wallet is staking OK regardless

Unlike you I had no more stake rewards since then. They stopped as soon as I got that message: I was getting at least one stake reward per hour.
That's strange.

Same here no more staking since restarting the wallet on that message, wallet is unlocked for staking but nothing.

Do you offer any signature bointy or other bounties for your dslk ico? If yes, please send us the link, thanks

We’ve considered bounties, and although we understand the great benefit of reaching out by spreading awareness we feel that it must come from true intentions. Our group is very small at the moment, but we’ve stuck together and walked a straight and narrow line. Those that want to join our ranks are more than welcome, and those that do will certainly carry a signature.

But those that aren’t rooted will only pass by for a quick benefit. If we were to say yes, there are bounties for certain actions then we know we would get exactly those specific actions at the cost of the offered bounty. We believe that an active community can contribute more, who is to say what you can come up with?

To all who have read the OP, did you notice some spots missing on the organogram? At the old Silk thread, we used to talk about how we would evolve organically into a headless organization, intrinsically motivated. This ambition still stands!

So if you think wearing a signature could help and you believe in this project/movement, then by all means wear a signature. By helping/supporting you will receive a reward greater then monetary incentive, conviction in your service!
