Hey guys, some general remarks:

I have faith in the skill and dedication of the developers and other people involved. However,  I do not have faith in the organisation as it operates now. As a lurker and observer I see that missing due dates is a rule rather than exception. I think I saw McDevs intelligent post on crypto developments a little back. He mentioned project managers, agile/ scrum. The problem here, imo, is that there is no project manager, no scrum master, no structure, no control in the organisation, and most important, a lack of direction. I see a group of (excellent) devs working on their ideals. Not people working on a structured project. So in short, I'm in silk and am interested in drksilk. The product I would invest in all day, especially due to the dual coin system. The organisation on the other hand, I am hesitant about. You have the skill to build this product, but I don't think your team has what it takes to sell it b2b. I think its necessary for someone to rise who can oversee all aspects of this project: ICT, but also Communication, Marketing, Sales, Legal etc. From experience I say that this is usually not a developer, as they have very specialised knowledge in one region of the organisation, but lack capacity in the others. So, any generalist business people around who can help the team out (assuming the team appreciates help)?

Peace ✌🏻️

Dont get me wrong.. BUt my knuckles are purple..
Some people just dont listen..

Why? Its easy to see from the outside this that bla bla time frame etc.. this is all without emotion.

Lets recap.. SLK launch late.. pressure.. dslk ico launch pressure..

These people handle with handicaps.. They want the perfect product for YOU THE INVESTOR.
These people are legit! and working for you!
We can all point fingers on.. time lines, vision, how to be pro..

But who are we? Fuck yeah if  I was close I know how to structure shit I know how to handle groups... I know how to...
Ok lets breath and lets have little faith yeah? ok..

This whole thing.. is believe not be rich tomorrow... grow a pair and relax and learn from this process.

So much negativity from some. Cry

But, more importantly MUCH LOVE to those who still have confidence in us.  Grin Grin Grin

I honestly had to log out seeing so much negativity and indifference from people who scream and whine like babies in the cryptoworld

Special thanks to MCDev,  coinhustler16,  Cryptotrader26, rapazev, drizzle2405 and others who took the time to write and calm things down
I'm 100% behind the team also

No i could care less about this project.   Failed ico.  Would like my bitcoins back if there will be any extended delay on release.   Are my funds not in escrow as promised? Or did i misread the escrowed ico thing?

Out of curiosity, how many BTC you invested in this ? Or €/£/$ ?

I have no problem myself with the delay if it makes the end product better and gives better interest to invested money. I'd rather see something done right the first time than fucked up a few times...

thank you silk team, the last few pages i've seen the only thing that was lacking here. Communication.
i still have faith in this project.

PS: funny to see a few "investors" here. they have posts in lsk, waves, decent and other ico's where delays happened too and they still there calling "pumps"... all these ico's raised way more, have bigger teams and had way more time, yet, nothing was delivered.

These are the kind of posts this community and the team is all about.  It is great to see how the tone of the post have changed over the last few hours.  Any you're right, a few of the ICOs you mentioned pretty much had much greater then what we have had here.  The team has delivered 2 outstanding pieces so far, the Silk wallet and Weaver.  The will do the same with Dark.

Lets not forget where the price for Silkcoin was on Polo before the delisting and then the swap.  I for one am in the teams debt for working this in a way that even at the current 1015 trades now, took a basically sub 300 or 400 coin and brought it back to decent level.  I had basically written Silkcoin off prior to the Silk release.  I didn't sell my swapped Silk, I moved them over to the ICO and kept buying whatever Silk I could on Bittrex and continue to.

I am and will remain behind this team 100%

Ok so everyone needs to keep calm and carry on.  What's an ETA for CPU Argon2d?  Not the 3-6 months as stated earlier?

As stated earlier, just sounds like you guys need a lead project manager to report to and adjust target date times as needed if issues occur.

You have lots of developers but no single entity to pull all end points to a final target date and communication is a key factor.

You all have always delivered, but you need someone to pull the developers together and if shit falls thru, as the coding world always does, that person needs to be the community informant as well since there has been communications break downs.

I work in logistics/transportation for 16 years.  It's all about communication and managing several components from supply chain to customer end delivery.  It's a clusterfuck and the worst industry ever as far as stress and failure.  If I can manage a shit storm on a day to day basis, you guys can certainly find someone to help manage your objectives better.

P.S.  As an example you'd be surprised how complicated it is just to get something as simple as milk on your store shelf.

Also I think most users might be confused by the initial time frame given.  Not knowing there was background communication going on and things were being adjusted in order to lessen a huge delay.

We are always open for more active community members that can bring in experience.  Wink

We are going to work on going with an easier implementation of Argon2d with CPU mining with a Spork to increase memory cost and parallelism once fast-verify is completed.

We will require some time to test and we will report back within the next 48 hours with info.

Binaries will be released and we will be forwarding this code to Bittrex.

So you guys are going to implement Argon2d differently and then change it up later?  In an effort to push the release out as soon as possible?

Yes, this is the plan. Argon2d will be CPU only until we have written the new PoW algorithm with much faster verification of blocks than is currently possible. The new algorithm is an improved version of Argon2d that the creator of argon calls Merkle Tree Proof (MTP). It is not yet implemented into code yet, only in math. This is what I will be focusing on until I complete it or if someone else does before me, then awesome. We haven't finalized the details yet but we will be offering bounties for a GPU Miner and also for anyone who wants to try writing a successful, working implementation of MTP.

The paper, Egalitarian Computing by Alex Biryukov and Dmitry Khovratovich, University of Luxembourg, can be found here: https://www.usenix.org/conference/usenixsecurity16/technical-sessions/presentation/biryukov and there is a nice slideshow there as well.

This is the algorithm that we will be implementing, which can be examined in more detail in the paper found at the link above:

Code:
MTP: Merkle-tree based Proof-of-Work.
Prover’s algorithm
Input: Challenge I, parameters L,d.
1. Compute F(I) and store its T blocks X[1], X[2],
..., X[T] in the memory.
2. Compute the root Φ of the Merkle hash tree (see
Appendix A).
3. Select nonce N.
4. Compute Y0 = H(Φ,N) where G is a cryptographic
hash function.
5. For 1 ≤ j ≤ L:
ij = Yj−1 (mod T);
Yj = H(Yj−1,X[ij]).
6. If YL has d trailing zeros, then (Φ,N,Z ) is the
proof-of-work, where Z is the opening of 2L
blocks {X[ij − 1],X[φ(ij)]}. Otherwise go to Step
3.
Output: Proof (Φ,N,Z ).
The verifier, equipped with F and H, runs Algorithm
2.
Algorithm 2 MTP: Verifier’s algorithm
Input: Proof (Φ,N,Z ), parameters L,d.
1. Compute Y0 = H(Φ,N).
2. Verify all block openings using Φ.
3. Compute from Z for 1 ≤ j ≤ L:
X[ij] = F(X[ij −1],X[φ(ij)]);
Yj = G(Yj−1,X[ij]).
4. Check whether YL has t trailing zeros.
Output: Yes/No.

Now this is some constructive feedback. Just as MCDev's was too. Helpful, logical, and not written in hysterical language haha. Thank you both. Smiley

Edit: It's not a definite, but I can see us launching the mainnet within a few days if all goes well.
