Claiming that one can 'go to' Antarctia freely because you can fly over it is weak sauce. I'm with ~notbatman on that one.

I don't know (and don't deeply care) whether a guy with the means to do so could mount an expedition to anywhere he wanted to go in Antrarctica. I suspect that ~notbatman is right in saying that he would be interfered with by various powers-that-be if they didn't approve of his specific destination, his reasons for going, or didn't like him as a person.

The idea that there are various 'survivability' operations going on in the arctic and antarctic regions sponsored by entities who have the resources to do so is fairly believable to me. Mostly because the null hypothesis is not. I don't think that it is a wild conspiracy theory, for instance, that someone with the means to do so installed a 'seed bank' in one such place. I might do the same just for shits and giggles if I had an infinite supply of (debt-based fiat) money.
