"Environmental Sinners Will Face God’s Judgement" Says The Pope.

The Pope, pictured here, talking to Francis.

Pope Francis has warned “the powerful of the Earth” they will answer to God if they fail to protect the environment to ensure the world can feed its population.

“The planet has enough food for all, but it seems that there is a lack of willingness to share it with everyone,” Francis said at a mass to mark the opening of the general assembly of the Catholic charitable organisation Caritas.

“We must do what we can so that everyone has something to eat, but we must also remind the powerful of the Earth that God will call them to judgment one day and there it will be revealed if they really tried to provide food for Him in every person and if they did what they could to preserve the environment so that it could produce this food.”

The striking comments from the Argentinian pontiff came ahead of the upcoming publication of a papal encyclical on the ethical aspects of environmental issues that is eagerly awaited by campaigners for action to address global warming.

An encyclical is a statement of fundamental principles designed to guide Catholic teaching on a subject. It is issued in the form of a letter from the pope to bishops around the world.

From the link -

The pope is due to address the UN Special Summit on Sustainable Development in September and the international community will seek to reach a universal agreement on climate change at a summit in Paris in December.

Climate change sceptics have warned Francis not to take sides in the debate but all the signs so far are that he sees the problem as man-made and as one which can be alleviated by political action.

Umm, what "problem", exactly, would he be referring to?

Circulating Petition Demands AP Scrub The Term “Skeptic”, Replace With “Climate Change Denier”…

A petition started by self-proclaimed grassroots human rights organization Forecast the Facts is demanding that reporters cease describing climate change skeptics as such and refer to them only as “climate change deniers” in order to discredit them.

A link at their website implores visitors to join their effort:

Those who deny the facts of man-made climate change would like the media to call them “skeptics” — but scientists think the media should know better. Tell reporters: Don’t call climate change deniers “skeptics.”

The petition even urges the Associated Press to amend their StyleBook to rule out the use of the word in that context and for all other media outlets to follow suit:

This is so much of a problem.  Because Global Warming is shrinking the ice caps we need to get to the South Pole to figure out how long we've got until the Alarming End comes.  But there's too much ice so ships can't get there, even the icebreakers get stuck.

http://dailycaller.com/2015/05/11/antarctica-has-so-much-sea-ice-scientists-have-trouble-getting-there/

Antarctic sea ice levels have defied climate model predictions, baffling scientists and reigniting a debate over global warming’s influence on sea ice. In April, sea ice extent reached record levels for the month — a whopping 116,000 square miles higher than the previous record set in 2014.

Scientists are still unsure why Antarctic sea ice levels are growing....

Global warming! That's why! Always global warming!

Australia PM advisor says climate change a U.N.-led ruse to create new world order

SYDNEY – Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s top business adviser on Friday claimed climate change was a ruse encouraged by the United Nations to create a new authoritarian world order under its control.

Maurice Newman, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council, said the real agenda was “concentrated political authority. Global warming is the hook.”

In a column for The Australian newspaper to coincide with a visit by U.N. climate chief Christiana Figueres, he added that the world had been “subjected to extravagance from climate catastrophists for close to 50 years.”

“It’s a well-kept secret, but 95 percent of the climate models we are told prove the link between human CO2 emissions and catastrophic global warming have been found, after nearly two decades of temperature stasis, to be in error,” he said, without providing evidence.

Newman, a former chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Corp., is a known climate change skeptic but he went further Friday by accusing the U.N. of being involved in a scam.

“Figueres is on record saying democracy is a poor political system for fighting global warming. Communist China, she says, is the best model,” he wrote.

“This is not about facts or logic. It’s about a new world order under the control of the U.N. It is opposed to capitalism and freedom and has made environmental catastrophism a household topic to achieve its objective.”

Figueres, in charge of getting a global emissions reduction agreement in Paris in December, was in Australia to meet business leaders and the public to discuss practical climate change action.

With its use of coal-fired power and relatively small population, Australia is one of the world’s worst per capita greenhouse gas polluters and has been increasingly isolated over its perceived reluctance to do more to tackle the climate threat.

In an interview with the ABC this week, Figueres said the nation had no option other than to gradually step back from coal — a key economic driver.

Newman said “hopefully, like India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tony Abbott isn’t listening” to the U.N.

But he warned that “having gained so much ground, eco-catastrophists won’t let up.”

“After all, they have captured the U.N. and are extremely well-funded. They have a hugely powerful ally in the White House,” he said.

“They will continue to present the climate change movement as an independent, spontaneous consensus of concerned scientists, politicians and citizens who believe human activity is ‘extremely likely’ to be the dominant cause of global warming.

“And they will keep mobilizing public opinion using fear and appeals to morality.”

According to the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the global mean temperature could rise by up to 4.8 C this century alone, widely seen as a recipe for worse drought, flood and rising seas.

While Australia has a current target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 5 percent below 2000 levels by 2020, it has not yet announced further targets.

The "Success of New Socialism"?  Last I heard Venezuela wasn't doing too well.
"not doing so well" is downright optimistic when compared with global capitalism's state of affairs, which is unequivocally on the verge of total collapse. Along with the delicate balance of our biosphere, you dimwitted suicidal fucks.

Our biosphere is as tough as an old boot.  So said that Scottish ecology professor in a delightful 3on3 debate some years ago that was probably one of the major reasons the warmunistas won't do public debates against real scientists any longer.  In short they got their asses handed to them.  I think the link was posted here but don't recall for sure.  If not, here's one:  http://www.npr.org/2007/03/22/9082151/global-warming-is-not-a-crisis

Climate change is big news these days, from melting mountain glaciers to warming seas. But is the buildup of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere leading to a crisis?

That was the question at the core of a recent Oxford-style debate called Intelligence Squared U.S. The series is based on the Intelligence Squared program that began in London in 2002. Three experts argue in favor of a motion; three others argue against it.

In this debate, the proposition was: "Global Warming Is Not a Crisis." In a vote before the debate, about 30 percent of the audience agreed with the motion, while 57 percent were against and 13 percent undecided. The debate seemed to affect a number of people: Afterward, about 46 percent agreed with the motion, roughly 42 percent were opposed and about 12 percent were undecided.

There are no capitalist nations on earth. Please don't sully the good name of capitalism by conflating it with fascism. And yes, fascism is in bad shape, but while fascist nations may be on the verge of collapse, the socialist ones are in full on collapse as we speak. They have riots and military in the streets. So personally i wouldnt want either, but if you are really going to compare the two, both are heading towards the same place, but isnt it telling that the socialist countries arrived at that shared destination first? If forced to make that shitty choice, i would still take fascism any day over socialism. It's decidedly less of a failure.

I'm not saying that I'd like to see one of the cult leaders (e.g., Al Gore) go full Jim Jones on these nut-cases, but it would solve about the only real problem that exists vis-a-vis 'global climate change'.  If I had to pick between this crowd and the millions and millions of developing world souls who are going to die as a result of the austerity these folks are being led to promulgate it would be a no-brainer to me.

UNFCCC Newsroom presents a new entry in our special section Climate

Song for Paris COP 21 which was kindly submitted by Diana Lindley. The song Love-a-lution- RIGHT NOW! was written and recorded to mark last September’s events in New York around the UN Secretary General’s Climate Summit and the Global Day of Action on Climate Change when more than 300.000 people marched in the streets of Manhattan and many more people did the same in cities around the world.

Love-a-lution- RIGHT NOW! (lyrics below) was performed by Oscar Riley (speech narration), Arlene Richardson (steel drum), Jonah Mamakeesic (drums, bass and production) and Diana Lindley (vocals, words and music).

I stand corrected. I thought he was saying he was willing to share his sailboat, the one he was not paying taxes on, with peasants like myself...

John Kerry Saves $500,000 By Docking 76-Foot Luxury Yacht Out Of State

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is docking his family's new $7 million yacht in neighboring Rhode Island, allowing him to avoid paying roughly $500,000 in taxes to the cash-strapped Bay State.

If the "Isabel" were kept at the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee's summer vacation home on Nantucket, or in Boston Harbor near his city residence, he would be liable for $437,500 in one-time sales tax. He would also have to pay $70,000 in annual excise taxes.

Rhode Island repealed those taxes in 1993. That has made the state something of a nautical tax haven.

Kerry spokesman David Wade said Friday the boat is being kept at Newport Shipyard not to evade taxes, but "for long-term maintenance, upkeep and charter purposes."

Wade noted the vessel was designed by Rhode Island boat designer Ted Fontaine and purchased in the state. It was built in New Zealand by Friendship Yachts.

A Department of Revenue spokesman said Kerry would be liable for Massachusetts taxes if he berthed the boat in the Bay State within six months of its purchase. If the "Isabel" were brought to Massachusetts after that period, the state would have to decide if it wanted to pursue the taxes.

Massachusetts, like most other states, has been grappling with plunging tax revenues. Last year's budget decifict was $600 million, and officials are bracing for a $1 billion deficit this year.

The 76-foot sloop has two cabins, a pilot house fitted with a wet bar and cold wine storage, according to the Boston Herald, which first reported its Rhode Island berthing. It derives its moniker from the middle name of Kerry's mother and the name his wife, Teresa Heinz, planned to give a daughter.

Instead, she had three sons.

Coast Guard registration records show the vessel is owned by Great Point LLC, a limited liability corporation based in Pittsburgh, Heinz's longtime home. The millionaire heiress to the Heinz ketchup fortune is a philanthropist and environmentalist.

Not only does global warming cause volcanoes to erupt, their eruptions also help tackle global warming. So, the solution seems to be to increase the output of greenhouse gases so that enough volcanoes erupt to totally eradicate the problem. Good luck, g

Why not just simply push 4.5 billion humans into erupting volcanoes and solve global warming for at least... 1 000 000 000 years?

 Cool

Because there aren't that many politicians, lawyers, and far left greenies?

In that case, that would be unsafe for the volcanoes...
