I often experienced this where I feel regretful when I choose to change my first bet instead of staying on it. Now I always stick with my first bet because I don't want that to experience again and I will be more ok if I lose at least I put my bet on my first choice instead of changing it.
...snip...
This is quite true. I made a similar post on a topic where the OP was to choose his favoring team or the one which would win the game actually. Placing of bets should be quite circumstantial in the sense we have made a decision after intense reading on the various factors which will make us to win the gambling game. If we are not really sure of what is gonna happen or if we are favoring our team which doesn't see the limelight of winning the game, we are running towards a high factored loss for sure. The favorite team would be stronger but they won't never be always even on a game with literally more stronger team than them.

Either if the gambling takes place in the game of politics or either in the game of sports, we should study the various possibilities and ways before placing the bet on the team. If you have a very minimal study if would pave the road for the routine losses which we could encounter over the time. A gambler should always be net positive towards his bet on a team, if the bet is on a dice game it would be a luck based winning game.

If you dont want to have regrets of changing your bet then stick to your first bet so whatever happens its your decision.

Sometimes there are some instances that we need to change our bet if we saw something wrong to the team that we choose to bet.
But once it is placed I think that it is not good to change it. Regretting was always there but instead of having some emotional stuff just move on and take this as your personal experienced and must have a lesson to learn that you won't let happen again.

Just focus on what you believed who the team will gonna win. Study first about the team you are going to pick before placing the bet. Hesitation and doubtful will lead you to possibly lose and might cause of regret.

If you dont want to have regrets of changing your bet then stick to your first bet so whatever happens its your decision.
This is quite a good suggestion. However, there are still instances where your guts are telling you something, like change your bet. But then, you still choose to stick on your first bet.

If you win with the one you choose initially, then good for you. But if you lost with that choice, and the one your gut was telling you about was the bet which won, surely there'll be regret.

The point is, regret will, somehow, always be present in gambling because you never really know what will the result be. With that said, the best thing to do is regret for a while but don't dwell in it. Move on as soon as possible. After all, there's nothing you can do about it anymore.
Sometimes Guts sometimes Instincts who tells us why we need changes in bets even how sure we are in the first one and that is human behavior
Better think that Whatever happen in your bets  either win or lose what’s important is this is your decision and you risk money to play and enjoy so crying won’t take effect of outcomes turns losing

What is there to regret? He changed his bet and he lost. He didn't know that his first bet was going to make him win. Remember, this is gambling. You will lose sometimes and you will win sometimes. The exact opposite could also have happened? He chose a bet before and then changed it. His changed bet allowed him to win. This is called gambling. Game of chances. You never know what is going to happen. Tell him not to regret anymore and to move on.
Indeed thats why its gambling, we dont know the outcome and just trying our luck to win.

This is not new in gambling, its happening in most cases and quite normal.

Correct answer because if did surely he will not change bet,and if the changed bet won again surely he will celebrate so there’s really nothing to regret as he gambles the money

That’s the problem about gamblers who’s not ready for the outcome always looking for something to blame just to make it cleaner

That’s what we called “scapegoat” when we actually expect to win but when lose telling it’s a mistake

Actually things like this are sometimes confusing.
Changing bets and actually on these bets we get a win, then we regret what we do. Try to think otherwise, if it loses and we change to a smaller bet. Are we happy or grateful.

Right as said @adzino, we are playing gambling. What happens in the future is really unknown to us. Then don't regret things like this.
What makes confusing is that because we're not sure where we have to put out bets, we are in doubts and bad luck is coming.

This kind of scenario seemingly happens and we surely experience the same. We are changing our bets cause it something because we feel it but such feelings made us a loser. But I don't think this is so much regrettable and we have to remember this a game and someone could lose and win.

Should be thankful that he only lost the opportunity to win $3000 rather than actually lose $3000.

These things does happen. Just got to move on. I think the best way to do so is tell yourself you didn't actually lost that money since it didn't even became yours, you can only lose what you have.

The first choice that you picked when betting is certainly a probable one during a bet. Trusting our instinct would rather help us to develop better decision making. We all experienced that situation, I myself played a lot of betting games on some sportsbetting games. Without enough skills in choosing my teams like in basketball, I only made a lucky pick but sadly got lost at wrong choice.

I feel situations like this hurt the most when you lost because you went against you gut instinct. Intuition is rather underrated these days. It usually is wise to follow when performing an action that is mostly uncertain anyway.

It really happened to me when I change my decision to replace my bet with a new one several times and lose. There is a time that I bet what I wanted to bet and I also want to bet the favorite which I did which is a bad decision. In the end, I have two bets but not the same choice to bet and I regret it and lose money of course.

This really happens to my friend in a horse racing, he is making a good run of winning he was in a winner take all bet and he needs to only win one, before he buys a ticket a winner take all-ticket, he has doubt on his bet on the 7th race because he is not the main favorite, he opted  for the favorite of race 7

He wins bet on all the 6 races  and he just needs one win and he is confident that the horse who he picks for a replacement on the horse he first bet to win the race, in the end, he loses the big jackpot in the 7th race because the horse that comes out the winner happens to be the horse he replaced with the favorite, he loses $3000 jackpot because of that.

He had a hard time moving on with that experience.

Regret happens when you don't when to stop or when you shouldn't have done it. It is very difficult to move on from that feeling but I think your friend learned something very important. This things will keep happening on us if we do not learn from our mistakes. Doubt is our first enemy then Regret will follow and haunt us for a long time. I wish your friend will get better soon.

I always experienced having regrets in gambling. There is one time when i am playing poker i started to raise my bet because i thought that i could bluff my opponents. And also in a bet game that i shouldn't switch my bet and that i should trust my guts, that is why i sometimes lose a lot of money in betting because i am afraid to trust my guts.

We need to accept our decisions in the past,we are the only person responsible for that to happen. When we lose a bet then understand we are supposed to lose it because its our bad day and anything can't be changed once its happened,if we decide to chase it down then we are risking more funds.
More gamblers suffered from that attitudes towards to this gambling activities. If you already have your pick accept whatever the outcome should be handled, there's no point of changing your decision inside the actual game, though it's not always happen but there's some time that we made mistakes and instead of standing to our choice we do bets against our will.
Mistakes in the bets rarely occur and that only happening due to the gamblers ignorance while placing bet on an gambling site.Once its done we can't do anything literally but there are some kind of players who will blame the gambling sites for picking the wrong team.
And those are stupid gamblers buddy, because they gamble but blaming others for their foolishness.gambling is one risky place in which more than the winners become losers yet people stays to gamble and there’s this one blaming the site because he lose!what a stupid person lol 😂

During the 2013 -2014 football season when Moyes was appointed the manager of Manchester United after Ferguson's departure I made a very long bet where I staked a total of let's say $2 in my local currency and I stood to gain the equivalent of  $1000 but after a lot of deliberation I told myself that there was no way that Manchester United were going to beat Bayern Leverkusen due to their poor form and I was surprised to see them win by 5-0 and that was telling only game that spoilt my entire bet.

"Just one more bet" has cost me a lot of money in the past. The trick is to quit while you're ahead, and if you're going to gamble, don't risk too much on one bet. Sometimes it's not easy, especially if the temptation is strong and you're 99% sure of the outcome. It's always a tough decision.

Hei, I remember that word has been saying from many people. They say, "Just one more bet, and I can be lucky and rich from these games.." But the fact is they lose the money because the next bet is not their best chance to win. I already did say that too in the past, but yeah I lose that money too.

Sometimes, we need to feel satisfied if we can win the games and we do not insist on continuing playing the games. No matter how much the win money that we can win, it's better to feel enough and stop the games because we never know what will happen with the next bet.

It happened to me few times in sports bet (basketball to be specific).

I have this doubt that my bet would not win the game so I decided to switch. But unfortunately I was wrong with my decision.

I lost my money and all I have is this regrets and disappointment, if only I stick with my first choice then I probably win. But thats part of gambling so we should accept it if ever we made a wrong choice.
Similar cases often occur in gambling. Very often it is heard that they regret their bet. Feel guilty to yourself and disappointed because you failed to get greater results. In my opinion, this is not good to continue because it will result in higher stress. Receive your payment because the amount is at stake and is worth enjoying. Try not to act rashly.
