This is the same when having a winning streak then suddenly all your winnings disappear in an instant, you will regret being greedy and think that it shouldn't have happened.

From my experience it happened to me on sportsbetting. I bet all-in on random teams I don't know that time but I won 7 times continuously. Unfortunately on the 8th bet I lost all my winnings then that night I couldn't sleep thinking about what happened.

Yeah we've all been there. I don't know how much he bet so we don't know what the multiplier was. I have grown my bankroll x3 from $100 just recently, so there I was sitting on $400 (in Bitcoin) and I was only $100 from my target. But I had 2 really close calls, and I was getting impatient. I thought, okay, why not I Just bet $300 at 90% 3 times?

I lost it on the 1st try haha.

On the other hand, I've also changed my mind on the last bet and worked out.

This really happens to my friend in a horse racing, he is making a good run of winning he was in a winner take all bet and he needs to only win one, before he buys a ticket a winner take all-ticket, he has doubt on his bet on the 7th race because he is not the main favorite, he opted  for the favorite of race 7

He wins bet on all the 6 races  and he just needs one win and he is confident that the horse who he picks for a replacement on the horse he first bet to win the race, in the end, he loses the big jackpot in the 7th race because the horse that comes out the winner happens to be the horse he replaced with the favorite, he loses $3000 jackpot because of that.

He had a hard time moving on with that experience.
This is a normal experience for all of us gamblers because most of the times our instincts tell us which to bet on but our other pat of mind declined the call .and after the deal things happens that we blame our selves because of denying the other decision
But in he end of the day?things will still happen that we lose by this decision making

I did one time in a Dota match.

That is TI8, I am rooting for TNC  at that time.

I bet on EG but my friends are saying that it is a bad idea, so I switched to Liquid since I realized they can win and it is EG but then they lost at game 1. At that time I know that they will lose and my friends pushed me to bet on EG, I won back my loss but I just hoped I stayed at EG

Maybe it happened to a lot of people already, usually when we bet especially on a big bet, we will be worried our pick will give win or not. That is why or maybe reason people change their bet and then regret it. But maybe if the people take that 2  bet, previous and new one maybe he wouldn't curious anymore. But of course need more money to do that thing.

Every bad bet makes us experience this feeling unless we don't mind losing money that is. I have experienced this countless times and these failures help me learn and improve my betting abilities in order to make smarter decisions in the future.

This is the good part that helps me continue gambling in order to earn higher profits. Recent negative outcome for me was the recent England vs Australia test where I changed my bet from England to Australia mid way and got screwed(It was a small amount luckily).

I have heard of someone having such experience too in dog race.
Anyway, life is full of ups and lows.

Sometimes you are favoured and at another time, the favour is not seen. If we keep regretting in things like that, we won't take risk and we need some kind of risk too in life.

I understand his frustration, I have been in similar situations many times before, I got all six race perfect however, I didn't put enough bet on my last race, I could have chosen the favorite, the second favorite and the third.

But I don't have enough money that time to make at least three or four horse bet on the last bet so that I can be at least on the safe side 4/12 on the last race, good probably of me winning. Unfortunately, the favorite didn't win the last race and so I should have won, in the end it all regrets and hard to get over with it.

Well.... It's just a part of the game! And although we regret because of our wrong choices, we should know that it could have been the other way around too, you might have choosen the other option and then if you lose, you would regret more because of not following your intuitions! Hence, just going with the intuitions and acceptance that win and loss are part of it might lessen the regret. And it's not the players fault, no one knows what will be the result of a game till it ends Wink
Indeed, that is the reason why I prepare myself for the unimaginable outcomes of my plans and choices because you can't even trust your own prediction. Besides we are still having fun despite of losing, but it depends if you acknowledged it. That is gambling, there is no guarantee that you will always win sometimes you have to lose to improve yourself and your tactics.

I have a same experience but in sports betting.
I wanted to bet for a home win in a football game, but by mistake I bet for away win.
Then, I run to the sportsmaker to decline my bet, and he did that to me. In the evening I realized that the away team won and I lost a lot of money from my action...

I am quite sure anyone who gambles has experienced a change of heart in the last minutes and decided to bet on something else completely different from his initial thought. I bet on football and often ask myself is my initial research and feeling correct or should I change my prediction. It is a hard decision. Whatever the outcome of the match you either tell yourself you are an idiot for doing it or smart move, that is the way to go. And next day it starts all over again.

There are also various gamblers who really experienced on that regret. Even in sports betting, choosing a team and speculate who gonna be a win is hard to decide. That is a part of the gambling experience, besides this error will help you to have a great chance of winning ahead while learning old mistakes. Just move on and forgot loses, aiming for the next possible win happen.

Well, stuff like this happens. He needs to move on for his own sake.
I once had similar experience with lottery in 2009/2010. My relation played for many of us and I was probably the only winner. It didn't turn out well for me in the end probably because I didn't take it serious. It was a very painful experience because I spent so much money on final qualifications that I should have used for something else back then. I eventually let go and quickly recovered.

It is not really a lose but we might have the feel that we could at least won that last won and it may stress us for many years depends on the rewards amount. There is no doubt that in long run we are going to possible lose while betting so keep your hope low or none while betting.

That case really happened, not just on your friend.

Almost a win and just needed one but failed on the last. It's not a bad decision after all since results are unpredictable.

He is almost lucky to hit 6 races. If your friend just spends a small amount, then I don't see any reason why it should be hard to move on even the jackpot is $3,000. I will understand if the moving on part just lasted 2-3 days but if up to today, he still moving on then he maybe expects too much in playing gambling.

This is so normal, especially in some gambling that has two option only. Every decision has been made by changing your bet has reason, right? If you lost, then you should accept it and there's a lot of opportunity waiting for another bet.

I also remember before, reason why I changed my bet is misclicked, it should be on the Team A, but I clicked the Team B, and decided to change my bet to the Team A, and boom, the Team B won. It also comes with different situation, especially you are gambling with lot of option, not only two option.
The lot of options is much hurt and full of regrets.

Yes it happens to me several times in dice game but it's about going to add more bet and continue to use martingale, once I stopped topping up because I already lost a lot but I do have a feeling that the next roll could be in my favor, but unfortunately I did not follow myt feeling and just proceed to do I have to do the other way around.

-snip-

Part of the gambling experience, regret.

Feeling regret after a certain event is usual but who knows what will happen? If the other thing happens and your friend won, that's a different story.

Hard to move on but he needs to.
