Qualifications does not include positive trust feedbacks, or being on default trust (but include number of posts reported, accuracy %, familiarity of the forum, rules, various boards and other ninja skills). That said there is absolutely no way a scammer would get promoted to staff.

How do I know? Just guessing. Grin

By this logic the only people able to be Moderators or staff would be those who trade. I fail to see how trading with someone would make a person more eligible for being Staff over someone else that didn't.

Yeah, I didn't have much trust before I got made a mod nor was I on default trust (and a few mods still aren't).

Its not only about number of reports and accuracy. As knightdk points out there must be need for a moderator. You must also be active during the needed times. What good is a new moderator that is active when other mods are active as well and no reports are left to handle.

If you want to help out the forum and the mods, write reports. If there is demand the admins will contact the people they deem fit for the job.

That is most certainly not enough. I have reported 100 something posted so far with 96%accuracy and I'm not a moderator. You will need to report more posts and with very high accuracy before being promoted to moderator. There also needs to be a section that needs a moderator for anyone to be promoted.

Why not continue your good deed of reporting spam posts to the moderators and let them do their works? You can also help by doing that. I think applying for the position is not realy necessary unless you want some incentives from it. They can promote you to the position if you really are doing a good job in doing it so yea. Just do what you have to do. Cheesy

Asking to be a moderator doesn't really work as far as I know. A lot of factors are involved and usually the admin invites one to join. I have not seen a single report from this account. Either he is rarely reporting or he is not reporting any posts made by newbies. I also do not think that we need more patrollers though. There are quite a lot and the report list is rarely bigger than 2-3 reports (if you ignore local boards that take longer occasionally).

The accuracy doesn't matter that much (just needs to be higher than the number listed). There isn't a exact number, some even say that 60-70% is enough. There are a lot of people with 95% with a high number of reports (e.g. I have 98%). I do not think that involvement in drama matters though if you're a reasonable person. However, don't expect some troll/flamer/whatnot to receive a position though. I was banned in the past, and yet here I am.
