You need to report a lot of posts with a decent accuracy to be considerd for being a mod. What are your current stats? And as others have said asking to be a mod is usually the wrong way to go about it. Put in the effort reporting posts and being active and maybe it'll pay off in the future.
Yeah and I guess not be involved much in the disputes like QS did, he also had a quite high reporting accuracy but wasn't considered for mod, but that was before he got involved in the escrow drama.
Anyway what was your reporting accuracy before you got the "Chosen one" title from lord theymos?

well if you did your research you would of found out that that account was bought, i wasnt even on the forum in 2012

No it's not possible. That feedback is to warn others that the member was a proven scammer before the transition to the current trust system. (Issued by a administrator controlled account)
What if i bought the account? will they remove it?
Nope not even then. The problem is that account sales can be faked, so that would again mean that the scammer could essentially just sell the account to himself.
I can provide proof, pm's can be showm, ip addresses can be checked and they can also check for any prior interaction between the addresses and the forum ip addresses

account was bought here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/selling-account-0005btc-1072424
by user here https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/sold-sold-516739
who was given negative rep for selling hacked accounts https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=516739

How do you feel?
I feel great, thanks for asking.

It is not like it isn't difficult to fake the sale of an account in order to try to get negative trust removed.

I feel that if you want to be a mod. you should know better than to make 3 posts in a row (with a sig ad) just to reply to one person.  Lips sealed

OT:
how did saltyspitoon linked you to brunoshady again? I thought global mods can't see our IPs.
I went to him for consultation to find out how to get the negative trust removed

Hello administrators, I am interested in joining the staff in clearing up the spam from the forum, I have been on the forum for a while and i have experience moderation a high-spam forum
I would be interested in moderating the micro earnings and/or the alternative crypto boards
Why would you think it would be a good idea to be made a moderator if you have hacked bitcointalk accounts in the past? Why would anyone think you would be a good moderator if you have a scammer tag?
On what evidence are you standing? i have never hacked an account
You have a neutral trust rating from SaltySpitoon that says:
I'm pretty sure these accounts were compromised, so I've marked them all as scammers:
bitbetter
Gluskab
brunoshady
killer2021
kuba_10
Sjalq
madload

It looks like the attacker is just trying a few super common passwords on a bunch of user accounts.

I'm not sure if this is legit or not, but this guy also hadn't posted in ages and then suddenly asked for a loan (and got one, sadly, and doesn't seem to have bothered giving any responses to questions after the loan request):

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/epii-7110

He's using very different IP ranges, at least.

A lot of us have been or currently are moderators or admins of our own small Bitcoin-related forums.

Unless you demonstrate exceptional dedication not with the goal of getting a moderator position but instead with the goal of rooting out all the low quality users, Theymos probably won't even bother replying to this thread.

Okay, maybe he might, to tell you that staff isn't an application process. The staff are chosen or invited, not asked to apply.

If you've modded other forums, as you say you have, you would know that asking like this doesn't work. In fact, I would say it lowers your chances.
well it did work, i saw spam and i asked the admin if i could help

That was forum.bitcoin.com. This is bitcointalk.org.
no, im not talking about forum.bitcointalk.org

im not a mod there
You applied there as well...

saltyspitoon is 12 years old. and LZ lives in the blockchain. :v

But they're pretty mature.

Also, OP, don't send me the forum link. IMO it looks small, but my word is pretty much worth nothing so you should send it to a mod or something. However, I think they'll agree with me.

You will almost certainly not become a moderator anymore because of that. The only way you can get attention is to report posts with high accuracy. Also, the forum needs mature people, not people with

Quote
Age:   -1976
Location:   Behind You

in their profiles.

Also, this will in no way improve your chances of becoming a mod, but give us the "high-spam forum" you apparently mod in. Roll Eyes

on the bright side. OP brought his name up to the top of the queue.  Tongue
all that's left is to wait for theymos to decide.
