Mysterious giant sinkhole in Mississippi swallows at least 15 vehicles (PHOTOS)

" A 15-meter-wide sinkhole has recently opened up in a city in Mississippi and swallowed at least 15 vehicles, police said, adding that what caused the sinkhole is still unknown and is being investigated.

MSM: Rocket launched from naval base is bright light reported across sky

"SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) --
The Navy has fired an unarmed missile from a submarine off the coast of Southern California, creating a bright light that streaked across the state and was visible as far away as Nevada and Arizona.

A Navy spokesman says the Navy Strategic Systems Programs conducted the missile test Saturday in the Pacific Test Range northwest of Los Angeles.

That was also confirmed by the Orange County Sheriff's Department, who tweeted out that the light was a test conducted by the U.S. Navy off the coast.

Cmdr. Ryan Perry said the launches are conducted on a frequent basis to ensure the continued reliability of the system and that information about such test launches is classified prior to the launch.

Residents from in Southern California started reporting seeing the strange light around 6 p.m. The lack of information about the streak of light led to a flurry of calls to law enforcement agencies and lit up social media as people posted video of the celestial sight.

The light was also reported from residents in the East Bay and San Francisco. Some shared their video and pictures with ABC7 News via social media.

Under a forthcoming nearly half-billion-dollar military contract, computer code capable of killing adversaries is expected to be developed and deployed if necessary, according to contractors vying for the work and former Pentagon officials.

U.S. troops would have the power to launch logic bombs, instead of traditional explosive projectiles, which essentially would direct an enemy’s critical infrastructure to self-destruct.

Lethal cyber weapons have arrived.

As previously reported, an upcoming $460 million U.S. Cyber Command project will outsource to industry all command mission support activities, including “cyber fires” planning, as well as “cyberspace joint munitions” assessments.

Unlike traditional espionage malware or even the Stuxnet virus that sabotaged Iranian nuclear centrifuges, cyber fires would impact human life, according to former Defense officials and a recently released Defense Department “Law of War Manual.”

The visceral response to the word “war” for anyone in uniform is that it’s ugly and people get killed, said Bill Leigher, a recently retired Navy admiral with decades of warfighting experience who now runs Raytheon’s government cyber solutions division.

“When I use ‘cyberwar,’ I’m thinking of it, in a sense of war,” he said. “So, yes, war is violence.”

Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin are among the major defense firms expected to compete for the CYBERCOM contract.

"A Christian printing company is facing a major setback after a Kentucky Human Rights Commission demanded that they print LGBT propaganda and go through extensive 'diversity training.'

An administrative law judge has ruled that a Kentucky printer’s refusal to print gay pride T-shirts “constitutes unlawful discrimination,” and, by extension, that printers cannot refuse to print materials promoting ideas they disagree with.

CERN LHC Update: After Successful Proton Run, Focus Shifts To Heavy Ion Collisions

"The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) -- the world’s most powerful particle accelerator -- has successfully finished its “proton run” for this year, scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) announced Wednesday. The collider will now be prepped for heavy ion collisions scheduled to begin later this month, in experiments that would help researchers recreate conditions that existed in the primordial universe.

“The accelerator has been performing well given the challenges of running at the new collision energy of 13 teraelectronvolts (TeV),” Mike Lamont from the LHC Operations team said, in a statement released Wednesday. “We're currently running with 2244 bunches of protons in the machine, spaced at intervals of 25 nanoseconds, which is an achievement in itself.”

The LHC, which is credited with the discovery of the “God particle” in 2012 -- restarted for “Season 2” early in June, and has, since then, been colliding beams of protons to detect hitherto unknown subatomic particles. As CERN explains, the particles are so tiny that the task of making them collide is “akin to firing two needles 10 kilometers [6.2 miles] apart with such precision that they meet halfway.”

With each collision, the LHC’s massive detectors gather colossal amounts of data, which physicists across the globe will now spend months poring over to look for clues to the origin and composition of the cosmos. Physicists hope that the detection and subsequent study of new particles could provide answers to some of the most fundamental questions of the universe, such as why there is an abundance of matter and lack of antimatter, and the make-up of mysterious "dark matter," which is believed to constitute over 84 percent of the matter in the cosmos.

Whatever the discoveries might be, scientists expect them to “break” the Standard Model of particle physics, which currently governs our understanding of the quantum world.

For now, though, the focus shifts to the studying lead ion collisions, in which the hundreds of protons and neutrons in two lead nuclei are smashed into one another at energies of over a few trillion electronvolts each. This creates a miniscule fireball in which everything “melts” into a quark-gluon plasma.

Quark-gluon plasma, as the name suggests, is a mixture of quarks -- the fundamental particles that make up protons and neutrons, and gluons -- the force carriers that bind quarks together.

Scientists believe that for a few millionths of a second after the big bang, the universe was composed entirely of a hot, dense soup of this plasma. And, in order to recreate these conditions, massive ions -- such as gold or lead -- are made to collide head-on. Scientists hope the collision debris will yield exotic particles like pions, kaons, antiprotons and antineutrons.

“In this run we will also have much larger statistics to work with and our detector has been significantly upgraded since the LHC’s first run. So we now have a better instrument to study the system to a much higher precision and at even higher temperatures,” Paolo Giubellino, a spokesman for the ALICE experiment at CERN, said, in the statement."

If you are any kind of a loser in a court battle where government was the plaintiff, file your rescission of signature off the court documents that you signed when you lost, at the same time that you file your notice of claim on top of the government case, that the plaintiff didn't appear in the case by getting on the stand and speaking into the record under oath or affirmation, the things that you did wrong.
