anyone know how to buy one in europe? none on ebay.
zoomhash only does USA.
one german website but they are very expensive

Hi, when you import a miner to europe, you must pay your country VAT and some custom taxes (not very high). So, 1.720€ / 1.21 (in spain we have 21% vat) 1.421,49€, it is same price than zoomhash...  Roll Eyes

btw, if you found some place to buy at low prices, please, send me a pm  Grin

Been around 2.5 day's of running with two and no issues.  They keep running on my pool and are pretty consistent.

So so far it's looking pretty good that they will make the week marker working without issue.  But still some day's to go.

Wow, that PSU looks sick!!!  So 2 of them is 4000 watts and then the kit from J4bberwork for around $65 plus PCI_E cable costs and you're in business.  So for around $200 you get 4KW PSU to support about 3 Avalon plus some extra juice?  Sounds like a  great value.   Can't wait to see your post on that as well as your Sound Damping solution I saw you referenced in the other post.

OUCH!  That's not very good return rate, was hoping it's around the 1200 watts mark.  Do you manually change the voltage settings? I heard people who were using the Dell didn't have to touch anything and can get 3800 on some units.   I get free electricity for Saturday so OC is perfect on Saturdays.  =)

well my meanwell is not a server psu and can adjust on the fly down to 9.6 volts and up to 13 volts.  it is a 1500 watt unit and was picked up un ebay for ⅓ retail price of 350  I paid 125.

I wanted  a really high power psu for testing under and over clocking basically I have become convinced to use finksy + j4bberwock  4000 watt  psu.

I have 2 psu's on order

Kilo,

Did you find out how many watts they draw to get the 4000 GH/s rate yet?  Trying to see if it's worth it to get these Dell PSU and go for that Hash rate.

my meanwell is 87% efficient and it uses 1400 watts to do 4000gh  which is .35 watts per gh.  a big fall off from my seasonic doing  950 watts for 3250 gh  about .29 watts

It is very stable with 12.6 volts for me using the 750's.  The ones I have on those PSU's have been running since they arrived at 3.8-4.0 Th.  I have tried using higher quality wires vs. lower gauge wires and it seems to have little difference in the hash rate but made a small difference in the voltage.  I suspect Finsky is correct about them except it didn't raise enough to actually kick up the hash rate.

how are you getting it to run at 12.6? adjusting voltage after its hashing?

Follow Up PM Question:

Thanks Smiley Will download and burn the image and see if I can set it up. What's the default ip address that I should look for?

There is no default if it had that it would be a static IP image Smiley.  This is DHCP so your router provides it with IP.

So I would look at router before and look at attached devices screenshot that.  And the new IP after turning on should show up there.  If that does not work there are scanning tools.

But with the BlockC dhcp image it is very easy just get that IP and you can connect.  After you can change to Static if you want.  The DHCP image saves you time from having to connect and change IP if it was wrong IP set on the  static images out there.

A PM question:

Is there a DHCP image for the avalon 4 to use with the RPi? My router is from apple and I cannot seem to be able to change the subnet otherwise I'd have it running by now.

Yes very first page of the review has BlockC's dhcp image.  With it you should be able to use it on any network that has dhcp on (almost all).

You can find it on - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/review-avalon-6-miner-winter-mining-notlist3d-also-faq-and-help-1257327 part 3

Do you mean the Dell 750w server psu? If so, can you share how to adjust their voltage?

We need special Server PSU to support this right Phillip?  Seems like it's not an option for EVGA G2 per Notlist3d.  Trying to figure out which server PSU that is the quietest that can support this overclocking.  Really interested in this capability and also am waiting on longer data on the stability of it at the OC rate.

Also, it may be different if the EVGA's are running on 220+ volts, I just do not have the setup to test that out.  Hopefully that will change soon  Wink

No I have done that.

Never never never never do a firmware update.  Until people
Have proven it will help you.

I have the older firmware and will not update until some one shows me they can match my results.

How's overclocking on these guys? Same string design principal as S5/S7 right? Upping the voltage on S7s really gives them wings. Wondering if these will have similar results. What frequency controls are offered?
it will auto over clock to 4000gh with volts at 12.6. Freq 500

This gear auto clocks based on

volts
temps
 fan speed
 freq control

i've tried several of mine at higher voltage. i cant get any to boot over 12.4-12.5 and then when running they are 12.2 or so. any higher and they just flash red. i thought that firmware upate was to allow them to boot at up to 12.8 but that doesnt seem to be the case for me. I havent tried adjusting voltage after they are hashing.

Hi Kilo,

Can you tell me if the following link the same PSU you're using?  Also what is the breakout board to connect the PCI-E power cable for these Dell PSU call?  I don't know the right term to search for them.

Good to know, thanks. Is there a way to control the overclocking frequency manually? That would be ideal.

I have the mean well that goes from 9.6 volts to 13.0 volts

But it is not efficient  so I do not use it long term.

I am waiting for finksy to sell my his 4000 watt psu it has three speed settings and most likely is the best solution for s-7 or Avalon 6 miners.

As long as you have 240 volts
