@philipma1957
If you didn't know, your new Rasp Pi 2 takes a Micro SD card and not the larger one that your old Pi uses.  Just FYI, but I'm sure you know this.  Is the Avalon 4.1 quieter than the S1's were?

thank you I did order 2 micro cards to go with it.

I paid 1.93 btc for 1 last night with a small coupon from valkir he may have some more coupons.

I do think I have made it clear that this is  a costly  miner. You get the quietest and at a clock down to 490-520 gh you get the most efficient.

I am running my 2 at about 895gh  and about .56watts a gh.

Can we stay on the topic plz.

Bicknellski I know you are angry at Avalon and I can understand but philipma and I are not working for them, we use their miner and like them.

Thanks you

Keep us up to date Philip!

Any new pics of the 3 setup?  Grin

They should all be backwards compatible.  I have 2 rasp 2's and they are so much quicker.

so you are running your avalon 4.1 's on the newest model 2?

I will order one from amazon today

I am also going to get a third avalon 4.1

No.  Wish I would have bought a couple this winter now I know how quiet they are.  Sure wish the price was more in the $400 range.  Have fun with the new Pi.

Don't forget to let everyone know the total all in cost and what sort of ROI potential you have underclocking.

Months? Years? Centuries? Ever?

yeah! they beat us with the quantity of miners, made with our own money....

i like that is full of aluminium and the temperature will never reach 120C even with a silent fan...

so how many units can you place on 1 raspberry pi?

I have 2 soon to be three.  I am also getting the better new rasp pi to test.

@ bick  they can do 1793gh at 1020 watts with a small underclock that is about .57 watts at the k-watt meter

they can do about 985gh at 445 watts  this is at a strong under clock and that is .45 watts at the k-watt meter.

I have a need for a space heater every winter to keep some pipe from freezing.

The space heater would use 1000 watts  and cost  80 bucks.

I would run it 90 days a year.

So that is free power for a 1000 watt miner  90 days every year as long as I stay in my home.

These units are very close to perfect as space heater replacements.

So limited use no ROI.

Buy BTC everyone.
The price point makes this a specialty buy for people with low power  prices and low noise requirements.

I am looking to expand to 3 units.  I have a question about rasp pi  I have this one it is the older model b  works great I want to get a newer rasp pi

this is the B + will it work with the software?

I have been doing deep under clocks with my pair of avalon's

while hash rate is much lower with these underclocks I am getting down to .4 watts

this setting is giving me .4 watts a gh .   I need a day of testing, but if I stay consistent I am buying a 3rd unit.   Will post in a bit.

don't forget update to latest firmware (MM and cgminer), we are continue improving.
