Did you try to put the Avalon in chain using the cable the give with ??
That could be nice to know if it work.  Grin

yeah I will set that up next.

993 watts on kwatt meter
that is for:
 the hub
the rasp pi
the fan under the rasp pi
the 2 avalon 4.1's

The new miner arrived. It is silver not black.  So I now have 1 silver and 1 black. Slightly annoying as I prefer a matched pair.  They look close in stats.  The silver one has slightly higher error rates. Still very early in my testing.

I am pulling 989 watts.   989/1798 = around 0.55 watts a gh at the kwatt meter. These run on  the same  rasp pi.  I will need a day to post photos. Still very quiet for 2 units.

close to 1780 gh for 2

close to 1798 gh for 2 at the pool

989 watts for the rig or is that across the both on same plug if for tone at close to 1.8TH is not bad going but still its a fair wack. What was ya cost for the unit. Is it even going to brake even on RIO on it is the big question tho.

Indeed however the cost and energy used for the miner in UK is a big thing for me and right now I turned off all my miners given the ratio of energy used to generating BTC to brake even point and futures is not effective any longer. Lot better to buy BTC and wait or go on some hash cloud that is effective or a place where has free energy or little costs for energy to be used would be good but right now cost of energy in UK for mining is not good.

I am high for the usa. 13 cents winter - 3 cent heat gain = 10 cents.  and 16 cents in the summer + 1 cent for some cooling = 17 cents.

but uk is 25-35 cents  that is just brutal.

I pay about $0.20 in the winter here in southern California, we have some expensive power! Sad

You have one of the worst other then Hawaii , maybe Alaska .

Indeed welcome to rip off brighten and the tax man adding tax to everything that the tax man can. We had good petrol prices a few weeks back and that has now gone up and is due to go up about £0.80 due to how cheap it went, nice knock on effect of cheap prices and pay much higher later in the year.

A  problem for many people tax tax tax tax tax tax tax .  oh  a license fee  not a tax yeah right.

Some times I sit and look at how many taxes I pay not the $  amount the different  types and it is very impressive  more then 35 types of taxes.

Yeah too many different taxes. If it was a tax free world or we could have access to all the tax paid over the years the world would be a better place and less poverty and less people on the streets. But no the tax man has to have his cut and seems nothing ever gets done with it correctly. Correct me if am wrong its just like ROAD TAX we pay it and expect good roads yet we get nothing but crap and pot holes and bad roads to drive on. and tax on wages well I sort of agree on that to an extent as do insurance for free health care but even that is not free cos paying somewhere else out of wages. Tax free would be good or a reduction in it would solve a lot of problems. BTC even getting taxed now its a fking joke lol

Man that is some expensive rates even with mine at somewhere close to that but managed to get me price down to £0.15 inc VAT or so and looking at other business to get cheaper so it roughly about the same as what your paying in california. energy company's need to get their act together on prices and look at more solar stations and have free energy that way and clean renewable energy like turbines for water falls they can produce so much energy FREE but the problem is economy around it and the natural wiled life being effected maybe they should look into making their own artificial ones across the nation would work few pumps to pump it round from one section to another and they got a system that generates energy all the time free. None of this nuclear waste stuff.

US is not bad but yeah UK is brutal for mining now with the price increases and wont budge. Can get business rates cheaper but still then need business to do from and to be honest way diff is going up on BTC and price it is not really worth mining. Maybe if BTC goes up and energy prices down to liek it was in 2013 and 2014 when mining was ok. It would be good again to see that but very doubtful.

Yeah UK and  a lot of Euro miners are crushed by   high power and VAT.    Right now this thread is a decent option

one or two from lee.  You can use paypal and get some protection that way.

Avalon still making acis miners. Wasn't aware they where still making asics any more. Looking at their cost of equipment and hashing speed and power use is stupidly expensive. 1300watt for 1.3TH can go  grab me an antminer s5 that is 1.1TH and using 500w at most. 1/3rd of the energy use don an avalon machine. If avalon got their act together from being the first to release asic technology and asic miners to reducing theri energy used and then having a good miner they would again have a good miner. Right now their way over priced and way under energy effective

I would normally delete your thread as you are leaving out a lot of info.  Or telling partial truths.  But you are a legend  and I respect that.

no antminer s5 uses 500 watts at 1100 gh

the avalon 4.1 or the sp20e  both burn power like mad when pushed

yeah the avalon 4.1 burns 1100 watts at 1.3th
but this miner  burns  510 watts at 900 gh  and it is whisper quiet.
this miner also well burn 244 watts at 500gh and is basically silent.

the s-5 is  460 watts at 885 gh and is 70db without fan mods.
the s-5 is  600 watts at 1150gh and is 73db without fan mods.

Right now 1 company has new gear in stock Avalon 4.1  cost is high and you have to clock it to 885 gh  but you get 42 db.

The avalon is the only true "home" miner  on stock sound.

I own
sp20e
 sp20
 s-5
avalon 4.1
 s-3

If you have an office space and silence is important this is your miner.

If you have a  barn or a detached garage the s-5 is your miner. but  it is sold out and not available new.

If you have an attached garage   the sp20e may be your miner.  but it is sold out and not available new.
