OP probably lost some coins when eth lost some value. When I first saw the topic I thought it was like early days or pre hard fork times but no, it was just two months ago. Eth is the second biggest coin in the world after bitcoin, how could it die?

What I know about cryptocurrency is that no matter what you do they won’t die, as long as there is internet in the World and a means to transfer coins they will have value. Eth is the second biggest one so it will be one of the last ones to “die”.

And I guess nowadays it is not correct to say like OP that ltc and btc are the only true coins. Firstly, litecoin is more like a btc clone, so maybe it is not one of the 'real coins'. Secondly, eth, byteball, dash and others have already gathered trust among bitcointalk members and the trust is one of the most important things since it produces the demand.

If the block size does not increase, people will not use the bitcoin any more. It will lose the reserve currency status.

Please distinguish between reserve currency and a Wizard of the Oz façade with a tiny man pulling all the levers.

The Crypto Anti-christ says reserve currencies tickernames shall have only 3 letters and shall not begin with 'X', because a) ticker symbols are abbreviations not proper names, duh, b) it's smart to waste a letter, c) it makes your project unsuitable for minors, and d) if your token follows international naming standards, then your system isn't independent of the dying morass of democracy and government.

@kryptowerk it does matter that the mining is centralized and focused in china. Because china is known for it's practices and totalitarian tendencies when it comes to control. Or you don't remember how bitcoin dropped 20-30% simply because there were rumors about bitcoin's regulation and a more tight control of chinese government ? You forgot bitcoin withdrawals are banned ?
