Litecoin is still an extremely strong coin and this is why:

[snip]

It was the #2 coin for ages but is now #3. Poloniex doesn't feature it as a second trading pair (instead they feature Monero). Bittrex doesn't bother with a second trading pair at all. The only people still into LTC appear to be the Chinese, but how long till they get bored and move onto something else?

Litecoin has been displaced as number two and recovered before. This link shows the last 24 hours volume compared to many other coins taking into account all exchanges not just two. I have not seen any indication that the Chinese are getting bored and if you check the large increase in volume on their exchanges in the last eight months the complete opposite is true.

Note: The last time i got snipped it really hurt

Sorry! Don't take it personally! I just didn't want to repost a wall of text.

I agree that LTC lost #2 during the doge heyday and came back. But this time they seem to have lost all steam in the western alt exchanges, and I feel the Chinese exchanges only like it because it's Charles Lee's coin. How long they'll continue with it, given the price is stuck is anyone's guess.

LOL.....I wasn't taking it personally. Here getting snipped is a reference to a vasectomy a very unfortunate procedure. So just an attempt at humour. I have considered your opinion; but, the continued growth of Litecoin in that market just doesn't indicate a loss of interest.

Litecoin isn't dead yet,  but it's reclining in a bed with rubber sheets, hooked up to an oxygen tank and IV fluids.

Lol, OP must be buying.

And why exactly are you declaring Litecoin to be dead?
Trade volume still seems to be pretty good, especially given how long Litecoin has been around for.

He's just playing. He says it's dead one min then admits to buying it the next moment. He's done this a few times.
He wants people to dump litecoin so he can purchase it low but we are not newbies we all know that Litecoin is here to stay and they will always be in the top 10 even ten years from now

Litecoin is still an extremely strong coin and this is why:

  • Capable of four times as many transactions as Bitcoin in a ten minute period. Frankly if payment processors had adopted Litecoin in the past year current Bitcoin block discussions would be irrelevant (and likely the price of both coins higher). Anyone who has watched these discussions understands the immediate advantage of a network with larger transactional capability.
  • Faster confirmation times. The only people who don't think this is important have never spent a single coin or they have patience that the average person does not possess.
  • The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks.
  • Anti-spam.
  • Fast well established network. Current Hashrate is 1,643 GH/s. Since scrypt is memory intensive it is known to be approximately 1000 times slower hardware wise in comparison to SHA256. Fair comparison to the Bitcoin network requires multiplying that hashrate by 1000 (1,643 TH/s). The fact is for most of Litecoins history the hashrate has been relatively high and secure. Those comparing it to the Bitcoin network without considering this 1k factor are either being disingenuous or just ignorant of the facts.
  • Continuous development look here at number of releases in past year: https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/releases
  • Upcoming new features and active development look here for whats happening in 2016:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/3z2ta1/ama_official_litecoin_developers_and_litecoin/
  • Longevity. Many coins have temporarily eclipsed litecoin as they were marketed for the purpose of increasing the fiat accounts of a small group and emptying the accounts of new users. Unfortunately this has been detrimental to crypto-space in general.
  • Great community.
  • Fully supported by GoCoin a growing payment processor used by thousands of merchants https://www.gocoin.com/
  • Liquidity. You can sell thousands and not crash the market. Maintains value. Look at the chart here indicating volume in the last 24 hours relative to other coins. http://cryptocoincharts.info/coins/graphicalComparison

Beginning of the year:

ALL IN LTC COME ON GUYS.

FEB:

LTC IS DEAD SELL EVERYTHING

MARCH:

ALL IN LTC COME ON GUYS.

APRIL:

LTC IS DEAD SELL EVERYTHING.

I see that you are very consistent in changing your mood monthly.

Since this thread is moderated, my post life expectancy is significantly lower than even LTC's.  Roll Eyes
