As we all have seen ripple has been quite strong these past few days and with all that it has done over the past months compared to most other currencies and the launch of xrapid is actually starting to show in its price.
There is so much talk about ripple taking over bitcoin and being 10$ what are your thoughts on this?

There are lots of good altcoins present in the market (e.g. ethereum, litecoin, etc.) but I do not see them beating the reigning cryptocurrency in the market anytime soon. The price of bitcoin is so substantially high that it may seem impossible for these altcoins to reach the price. Although newer and newer coins have been generating throughout the year with recent technological advancements and innovation, one of the most effective ways in order to beat bitcoin is if there are any external factors that may let bitcoin fall.

For example, government regulations prohibiting the utilization of bitcoin would force the people to probably switch to another altcoin. Maybe Ethereum is the next bitcoin but I do not see the latter going down anytime soon.

Lol, xrp is the next bitcoin because it is going  to be over %10? No way a "centralized" coin is going to take over bitcoin. Majority of the nodes belong to ripple and there are people still there who believes XRP is completely decentralize and isn't controlled by anyone, whereas there is a central entity providing it a leadership. Why do you think banks are interested in ripple?

Theres some coin that people say can be the next bitcoin and bitcoin crown will fall, let say ethereum, cardano, ripple and others bitcoin
But i believe bitcoin still strong and defend his throne
The price maybe can defeat now by some defi coin like Y family and some defi ecosystem but they just a fase and just a temporary hype in cryptocurrency and rule of the jungle will tell who was the king and we all knew who

Not a single altcoins can become the next bitcoin, let alone just ripple where the difference is too big. The simplest example is the supply of ripple and bitcoin which is too far away. For the price they are also much different. I think no alts can match bitcoin forever.

I think it's too early to say Ripple is the next bitcoin? In your opinion, on what basis are you so sure about Riplle? is it related to the financial system or for other reasons? If you look at the market cap chart, Bitcoin's tough competitor is Ethereum. and there are even some other cryptoqurrencies that have high selling prices above the Riplle coin price.

Ripple cannot be compared to bitcoin and cant be the next bitcoin. When you check the performance of Xrp even before in the market there's so much gap to bitcoin. And this can't even reach $5 to $10 so I doubt this claim to be the next btc.

it is too early to equate Ripple with bitcoin because in terms of quality it is very different even though Ripple is an old coin But the development and enthusiasts in the market are said to be few, I am more sure if the one who can compete with Bitcoin in the future is Ethereum

The current market situation is excellent If it continues like this, the price of BTC can go up a lot And it seems to be waving very well And BTC  is much stronger Anything can happen.

I think its too soon to call ripple as the next bitcoin but its not too far off tho. Ripple is on the rise but the way bitcoin made its run before is way different than how ripple is doing now considering there are a ton of other coins out there.
These are two completely different coins with different algorithms and different purposes. They will never replace each other

Oh Yes the new btc-coin whose value is dumped by the owners themselves just pouring 1 billion coins into the market and then saying that they do not affect the coin!
It is not very clear how the new btc can be the coin that can be brought down/raised by the hands of the creators at any time. How is the bright decentralized future and the free market faring? It seems that ripple is not doing very well with this!

Without any doubts ripple is one of the most promising altcoins but if you come to think that it can surpass bitcoin, I think there is a very little possibility that it could happen knowing how dominant bitcoin is in the market.

Don't compare XRP with bitcoin. Bitcoin and XRP both are different. Bitcoin is decentralized and XRP is centralized. If XRP hit 10$ then bitcoin price will be more than 100k$ so bitcoin will be the winner and top. I don't think so that XRP will grow rapidly as bitcoin.

We can say that ripple is one of the best and most promising coin/token in the market for many years now. But if it would be compared with bitcoin, it is still has to have many obstacle to face and it should exceeds the achievement that bitcoin have if it want to surpass and become the next king of all coin which bitcoin is still holding.

Projects that use this phrase, the next Bitcoin, are good projects to be avoided. There will not be a next Bitcoin, Bitcoin will always be one and only. Projects that have nothing to offer except they are in crypto and they have high hopes, without the unique idea, or better development they will do nothing. Ripple will never come close to Bitcoin.

Mate don't just jump into conclusion, from my end, I can't say ripple is going to be the next bitcoin, in terms of marketcap ripple is way behind, so ripple will continue to remain ripple, there's no way ripple can over take bitcoin.

Never it comes to my mind that Ripple will be the next Bitcoin nor it will take over Bitcoin in terms of "true market cap".  There is no denying it already taken over Bitcoin in the number of available coins by billions but the actual market capitalization does not lie on the equation of price multiply by the total number of coins.  Don't get me wrong, I kinda like XRP right now but still, I don't agree that it will take over BTC on being  top or being the King of Cryptocurrency.

I don't know why I can't seem to control my laughter at that hilarious question 🤓. Well, I believe the question is a mere rhetorics. If a coin like Cardano, EOS or Litecoin gets the kind of positive reviews Ripple gets, those coins will hit the roof in price value. XRP is just lame, honestly. It can barely walk. So, it's pointless comparing it with a progressive coin like Bitcoin.
Very well said mate, XRP is just lame and One thing I really don't understand is why does OP have had chosen such lame coin to compare it with one of the most positive as well as promising coin. Even newbies would not agree with this topic.

Ripple is far from being even the next USDT, talk less of Bitcoin. The only time, I was eager to hold Ripple was when I newly entered the market and wanted to earn from the volatility, I got some Ripple to hold since the value is cheap as compared to other coins, but I noticed that one needs to hold a large quantity to really benefit from the volatility because it's volatility is not strong.
