However, I don't understand why review sites don't simply contact the producers and ask "when did you start? Much of the information needed for a "meaningful" evaluation of a site can unfortunately not be found on the internet and is publicly available.
Because most of them are lazy slackers who don't care about the accuracy of the information they publish, but only about getting hits to their blogs and making money from affiliate links. They write so-called "reviews", which is all a load of crap, to get more referrals, but not the proper type of reviews that have real value. And this kind of attention whore behavior is going to get bigger and bigger, since it's easy and cheap to generate these kinds of information dumps and therefore it's attracting more and more people.
That is one reason, and I do believe that it could be a good reason, but the reality is that there is also many places that doesn't respond as well. I worked in a place like this for a short period of time back in the day, and that was the case. I wasn't lazy, I had many questions all set out and I sent it to almost every casino owner I could find at the time, nowadays there are more places but even back in those days we had people who ended up not responding. In that case you do your article without knowing most of these answers not because you are lazy but because people do not respond to you.
I am not saying that these article writers tried to approach, maybe they did or maybe they didn't, or even if they did I do not know if roobet answered or not, maybe they did or maybe they didn't. Without knowing any of this, calling them lazy doesn't make sense.
