My thanks to @aoluain for keeping the thread going while it is uncertain how long I am unable to post for.

Kudos.

Thanks @Timelord2067, hopefully more people will get involved on the thread.

NRL Womens league starts 27th February and the mens start 10th March, looking forward already.

Autumn Internationals

Week 3 is kicking off on Saturday with 6 fixtures over the weekend and 3 big matches
which should yeild some cracking Rugby.

Italy v Argentina

Scotland v South Africa - Scotland will be looking to continue their beating of The Wallabies
with the visiting Springbok's, #2 on world rankings.

Ireland v New Zealand - For us taking on The All Blacks is a massive occasion, in the 32 previous
meetings we have only managed 2 wins and 1 draw which was in 1973!
from the first match in 1905 until 2016 they have beaten us.

England v Australia - World ranged 3 and 4 go up against each other, 2 powerhouses of the game,
                             should make for great viewing

France v Georgia - Its welcome to see Georgia getting a game, they are the top team in tier 2 of
the sport, France should win handily here.

Wales v Fiji

E D I T

Results from yesterdays games:

Argentina beat Italy, no surprise there

South Africa beat Scotland 30 - 15

Ireland against the odds beat New Zealand 29 - 20 - great match, Ireland didnt allow
New Zealand to impose their game. Another historic win by Ireland because its only
the 3rd time.

England did the job against Australia 32 - 15. Far too many errors by Australia, they had
their chances but couldnt finish and too many handling errors.

E D I T 2

France won against Georgia 41 - 15 which really was to be expected. Eventhough
Georgia would be the top team in Tier 2 of Rugby Union there is still a huge gap
in talent to Tier 1.

Wales were run very close by Fiji, the scoreboard I believe doesnt reflect how close
the match was but wales are now on winning ways with 1 from 3. final score 38 - 23

Its been a while since this thread was updated abd @Timelord2067
will have limited visits to the forum in the short term I will make a
post once a week and update it for the week as best as I can.

To follow on from the last post in relation to The Autumn Internationals
week 2 was this weekend and a lot of matches happening.
Here are the results from the weekend, some predictable and some
not so much.

Ireland 60 - 5 Japan
Italy 9 - 47 New Zealand
England 69 - 3 Tonga
Wales 18 - 23 South Africa
France 29 - 20 Argentina
Scotland 15 - 13 Australia

I watched the Wales v South Africa match and Wales were s unlucky
to get beaten by South Africa. Wales were looking good for the win
but the last 10 minutes is where the damage was done by SA.

Argentina who have a decent record against France came within 9
points of them and Scotland overcame Australia who were really
on form coming into these games, well done to Scotland.

I can't place any bets on those games as they're not showing up on my betting site.

These are the only games this weekend in the autumn international series,
USA were supposed to play Ireland at home but that is cancelled.

I'm also not doing that great in my picks for the New Zealand regional teams either:

  • Tasman @ 1.43 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
  • Bay of Plenty @ 1.48 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC

Hopefully the rest of the week-ends games turn out just a little bit better than these results have been (otherwise, it's back to the Tennis  Wink

ATM on Sportsbet this is the only series I can bet on, there are no United Championship
games this weekend and the french Top14 league is closed for betting. I'm not
following the NZ league so not willing to risk my Satoshi's there.

I hope your picks work out.

Ah thats sad - R.I.P Sean Wainui

Although I don't know Sean Wainui but because he was hearty and loved rugby and being a proud Maori boy I can’t help but weep for this young man who had so much to live for and gave so much joy to those who knew him or watched him play. So sad to see such great people leave this world so early, you’ll always be remembered. RIP Sean Wainui

Kia Kaha, @Davidvictorson

In Rugby Union 29th Oct - 1st Nov, I'm going for the following pics mainly based on their wins last weekend (I haven't gone down the list of every game, just a few)

  • Tasman @ 1.43 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
  • Bay of Plenty @ 1.48 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
  • Hawke's Bay @ 1.16 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Leicester Tigers @ 1.60 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.08 mBTC
  • Southland @ 1.69 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.08 mBTC
  • Saracens @ 1.60 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.08 mBTC

I might have another look at the Top 14 and Premiership Rugby before the end of the week.

Both of my picks didn't win.  The Bay of Plenty - Northland game was cancelled due to a player death:

Sunday’s NPC match between Bay of Plenty and Northland has been postponed after the death of Bay of Plenty player Sean Wainui.

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) confirmed the Tauranga fixture would not go ahead after Wainui died in a car crash on Monday. He was 25.

Wainui’s whānau released a statement via NZR on Friday and said his tangi would take place in Gisborne at the Te Wainui Marae on Sunday, the same day as Bay of Plenty’s scheduled match this weekend.

“We just want to thank everyone for their love and generosity. The beautiful tributes that have come from those who loved him all across the world means a lot to us all,” the statement, on behalf of his whānau, his wife Paige and her whānau, said.

whānau - Māori word meaning family.

That match is scheduled for later on this evening, local time 21:05! La Rochelle
are heavy favourites at 1.07.

The Racing Metro 92 - Montpellier match was not how I thought it was going to go,
Racing were 3 on the Top14 table with Montpellier down in  9th or 10th.

In the United Championship there were 2 big upsets yesterday as far as im concerned,
Connacht beat Ulster 36-11 and The Ospreys beat Munster 18-10. Thats 2 of the top 4 on
the table beaten by teams way lower down the table.

If I had been able to bet on those games yesterday I would have lost big time.

Really happy for Connacht, scoring 5 tries with 5 conversions, on their day
they are capable of beating any team in this comp. but its the consistency which is poor.

Half Time in the Racing92 - Montpellier match and Montpellier are ahead 14 - 26
and Racing92 are 3.50 to win, definitely worth a bet on Racing2.

Racing Metro 92 - Montpellier ended up being a one sided affair with Montpellier beating Racing Metro 92 with a score of 32 - 21.

Has the La Rochelle - Toulon game been played yet?  I can't find any results for that match online.  (I do know that the Bay of Plenty - Northland game starts in another couple of hours).

I couldn't find prices for Australia Vs Japan at all, but I have found New Zealand Vs USA (101:1 for the USA to win, so I've put 0.02 mBTC on them to win - you never know  Grin )

  • Bay of Plenty @ 1.14 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Hawke's Bay @ 1.36 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
  • Taranaki @ 1.16 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Otago @ 2.57 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.13 mBTC

BOP and the other matches haven't been played as yet, so I'll keep you posted when I hear how they went.

Toulouse is paying 1.08 and La Rochelle 1.07 (I'll put money on Toulon) so just the two bets:

  • Racing Metro 92 @ 1.28 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Toulon @ 7.56 - Taken Amount: 0.02 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.15 mBTC

I was too slow putting a bet on Australia, The game was over before I could
bet, I didnt keep pay attention to the date and time. Anyway they won but
probably not as comfortably as many thought. 32 - 23

Japan are a decent side.

In te United Championship I see [or dont see] Sportsbet have not listed the
games for this round?

In the notable game for me of this weekend, Glasgow Warriors v Leinster, Well
what I thought was going to be a real close match didnt materialise, it was
double scores 15 - 31 to leinster.

I'm the first to concede it must be hard for sports betting sites to have to update daily for some fixtures (especially during finals).

Tennis is another one as you don't know who the winner is going to  face off against in the next round until a separate game is played.

Rugby Union

Japan and Australia face off this weekend. I haven't had a chance to see what the odds are for that game yet.

I am always in awe at these top players who can train and play together on a national level
and then compete against each other on a weekly/monthly basis, but always after a match
there is respect for each other.

Back to Leinster, Their key play maker Johnny Sexton is missing this weekend and
they play Glasgow Warriors, one of the few teams that can upset them, the Untied Championship
R5 is not listed yet on sportsbet, im interested to see the odds on that game.

Thanks for the link, aoluain - I might have to shop around for another site that has some of the "additional" markets.  It's always good to be able to see players playing at the competition level against their countrymen ass opposed to at the International Level.  To my way of thinking, you can pick up on their more relaxed style of play and perhaps see an entirely different game played.

Welcome indeed Kakmakr, I know you from the Tennis thread.

Good point about the SA sides, between the four sides in the last 4 rounds
they have only won 4 matches between them.

With the likes of the afore mentioned teams the others have little chance
if they are not winning regularly.

Timelord, as usual I'm betting on Sportsbet they have the United Championship
still listed as the PRO14.

And the official website - https://www.unitedrugby.com/match-centre/table/202101

...

I did a long post and I'm not sure what I did, but I lost the entire text...

In essence, Canterbury, Waikato, Wellington and Otago are the powerhouse teams in the New Zealand Rugby (Union) - a few of the teams also play against their Australian counterparts in a trans Tasman Cup, so that harks pack to my comments concerning the NRL and divisions and relegation.  (and I'll keep those teams in mind when I'm placing bets Wink )

I think it is safe to say that a bet against all the South African teams in the "United Rugby Championship" for the rest of the tournament, will be a good choice, because they simply cannot get used to the way the Northern refs are blowing the games. (Why they are not adapting their play, are simply a mystery to me.)

The Stormer win in my opinion ....was just a fluke.. and they cannot repeat performances like that.. week after week. The longer that they are away from home, the worst they play.  Roll Eyes

Welcome!

If you've got any links for the competitions, or even which gambling sites cover these fixtures, then I'd be glad to add them to the OP / first posts.

Nice to have you with us.
