Going well Timelord as are The Panthers. I wonder If we were to just bet the same
amount on the Panthers in every round would we be up or down? going with my 20/20
vision last year would have been a successful one!

Rugby Union

United Rugby Championship Round 15 started today with wins for the Cell C Sharks
against The Dragons 51 - 3 and Glasgow Warriors 33 against Zebre Parma 5.

I have 3 bets on for this round:

Connacht to win away to Benetton - I am hoping Connacht can get inside the top 8 to
progress to the QF's but have two tough draws ahead away in South Africa.

Ulster to win away to the Vodacom Bulls. They are not favourites for this one but
they ran the Stormers close last week So I'll go again with them.

And a All-Ireland game between 3rd place Munster and Top spot Leinster, I'm going
with Leinster who will face a hugely packed Thomond Park.

Titans, Sharks, Panthers, Broncos, Raiders, Cowboys, Storm and Eels.

In round five, I've seen some good prices, so I've gone ahead and placed a couple of bets:

Brisbane Broncos - Sydney Roosters Money Line Brisbane Broncos @ 2.66 Taken Amount: 0.06 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.16 mBTC
Newcastle Knights - Manly Sea Eagles Money Line Newcastle Knights @ 2.37 Taken Amount: 0.06 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.14 mBTC

Nitrogen still doesn't have any Rugby Union bets for the New Zealand competition  Undecided

*edit*

The Gold Coast Titans played as badly as the Wests' Tigers and the score was 2 - 2 until the 69th minute.  The game finished at 8 - 6 to the Titans.  The Titans move to seventh position, but there has only been their game in round four, so I expect they will drop out of the top ten by the end of the round.

*2nd edit*

Three from three so far this round with the Sharks over the Newcastle Knights and the Panthers over the Rabbitohs.

Another weekend of tough games in Round 4 of the NRL for both The Panthers
against The Rabbitohs, I believe The Rabbitohs have put a stop to their losing but
still this weekend I have The Panthers to win a close match.

The Sharks and Knights pair off against each other, current 3rd and 4th place
on the ladder, another close one I suspect.

The Eels and Storm I believe should come through this round with wins and
secure their positions in the top of the ladder

My bets for this weekend are:

Rollbit

Penrith Panthers v South Sydney Rabbitohs - Penrith Panthers ML 1.38 - Stake $1.80 - potential win $2.48

North Queensland Cowboys v Sydney Roosters - North Queensland Cowboys ML @ 3.0 - Stake $1.50 - potential win $4.50

Nitrogensports

Parramatta Eels v St.George/Illawarra Dragons - Parramatta Eels ML @ 1.29 - Stake 0.06mBTC -potential win 0.08mBTC

Melbourne Storm v Canterbury Bulldogs - Melbourne Storn ML 1.16 - Stake 0.06 mBTC - potential win 0.07mBTC

I had 3 bets on Round 14 of the URC, Ulster to win away to the DHL Stormers but they
lost in a close match and had a disallowed try with about 5 minutes from the end,
final score 23-20.

I also had Glasgow Warriors to win away to Cardiff thinking Glasgow being 4th
on the table would easily overcome a bottom placed team, not the case, final score 32-28

Finally I had Leinster to beat Connacht, The home side Connacht had a man sent
off in the first half and the flood gates opened in the second half, score there: 8-45

So I'm 1 from 3

Here is the table after round 14. I still dont know how the imbalance in games played
is going to be resolved.

Super Rugby Pacific Round six.

Moana Pasifika vs Hurricanes 24 - 19
Rebels vs Fijian Drua 42 - 27
Western Force vs Brumbies  38 - 39
Highlanders vs Blues 25 - 32
Chiefs vs Crusaders 19 - 34
Queensland Reds vs NSW Waratahs 32 - 20

I expect Padifika Vs Blues to be a close game this week, Crusaders over the Highlanders and Reds over the Brumbies.  The Hurricanes might edge out the Chiefs while the Fijian Drua vs NSW Waratahs game I feel Fiji will surprise viewers with another win.

Rugby League.

Three from eight for round three.  Sea Eagles Captain Daly Cherry-Evans kicked a one point field goal to take the leed minutes from full time in a low scoring match.

The top six/eight are now:

Panthers, Sharks, Cowboys, Knights, Storm, Eels, Raiders and Broncos.  Only the Panthers have three wins from three starts.

The Mid four are Raiders, Broncos, Rabbitohs, Titans.

Then the bottom six are Bulldogs, Warriors, Roosters, Dragons, Sea Eagles and the Wests Tigers having lost all three matches.

Last Season the Broncos started out well, but weren't able to follow through, this season from what I've seen so far, all three Qld teams (Broncos, Titans & Cowboys) are giving strong performances.  Perhaps the Cowboys will make the semis.

Yea it looks like last years top 6 are taking their places in this years top six, ok its early days though.

Thats was some comeback by the Raiders from 22-4 down at the break, they must have got extra
Jaffa Cakes and a serious shot of belief.

A recap on my bets for round 3, I'm 3 from six but with only one team "The Penrith Panthers",
they have saved my bacon this round, I'm actually slightly up on the NRL R3>

Rugby League

I made my first 2 Rugby bets on Rollbit as follows

Melbourne Storm - Parramatta Eels      Money Line   Melbourne Storm @ 1.30   Taken Amount: 0.073 mBTC

Penrith Panthers - Newcastle Knights      Money Line   Penrith Panthers @ 1.19   Taken Amount: 0.073 mBTC   Possible Payout: 0.087 mBTC[color]

Rugby Union League

I have two more bets on the NRL for round 3

St George/Illawarra Dragons - Cronulla Sharks   Money Line   St George/Illawarra Dragons @ 2.24   Taken Amount: $2

This is on Rollbit with slightly better odds!

Second bet is on Nitrogensports

South Sydney Rabbitohs - Sydney Roosters   Money Line   Sydney Roosters @ 1.58   Taken Amount: 0.06 mBTC

I put another bet on The Panthers to offset that loss a bit, On Rollbit they are now
1.4 to win, again with my small bets I put $2.50 on.

I've picked up good prices on the Dragons and the Bulldogs in their round three matches - looks likes others are going the other way barracking for the Sharks and Sea Eagles.

Daly Cherry-Evans (Captain of the Sea Eagles) looked bewildered at the press conference after game two - The Sea Eagles have some serious soul searching to do.

Three from seven so far this week-end.  It's becoming a different ladder after three weeks of game play clearly showing that some teams have spent the off season honing their skills while others are languishing.

The Canberra Raiders pulled off a minor miracle being down 22 - 4 at half time then scoring five unanswered tries in the second half to win 24 -22 against the Titans.

In the NRL Women's comp, the Knights are leading the Titans 6 - 0 after 50 minutes of game play.

Round 14 of the United Rugby Championship kicked off yesterday. Munster Ireland
beat Benetton Italy to go into 3rd behind fellow Irish teams Leinster and Ulster
who have to play today. I have small bets on both on Rollbit. Ulster in particular have
a tough game away to the DHL Stormers South Africa so are not favourites

There are only 4 rounds left before the QF, SF and Grand Final and those 3 Irish sides
could all be in the running for the title.

So in the NRL it looks like The Rabbitohs and The Eels have turned the tide and
are back to winning ways. I did ask the question in a previous post and that
was answered this round

Its clear from this years Six Nations that they are targeting next years World Cup
particularly when its on home soil.

We got this year what everyone was expecting for many years past and over the
last number of years the focus for French Rugby seems to have been the club performance.

We have to give it to them, they are exciting to watch, the French Flair is back!

There is talk here in Ireland of the incoming world cup, we have been at the #1 spot for a
while in the past but when it comes to World Cups we are the #1 under acheivers but this
time is different, we have a coach Andy Farrell who has brought something new, he has
given the players license to be creative outside the set piece plays. A big worrying point
is the Johnny Sexton issue, he is coming to the end of his career and we dont have a worthy
replacement. Every other position is well subscribed for sure.

As predicted from the first game in the tournament France win for the first time in 12
years. They looked pretty much in control of yesterdays match and sealed the win 25-13

Ireland picked up some silverware too by sealing the Triple Crown trophy.
I'm thinking this could be the very start of a bit of French dominance. They've always had the capability, I've just felt they've lacked that team belief, and the discipline to pull it off in previous years. Seems they're finally getting to the bottom of those issues, and not only will they be successful in future Six Nations, I think they'll be a force to be reckoned with in the World Cup.

Wales obviously started a pretty grim period with our top players nearing retirement, and obviously losing our best ever coach. This Six Nations results probably a indicator to what is to come for Welsh rugby for the next few years at least. England rugby not looking as good as it was a few years ago, and probably suffering from the same fate as Wales. Ireland, and Scotland back on the up. Italy, apart from a few key players look largely the same. Maybe, a little improvement, and I know they beat us, but that isn't saying much with the way we've been playing.

So with Timelord backing The Dragons and this preview I'm doing the Dragons.

My tip: This is a genuine toss of the coin. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go either way,
but I am leaning towards the Dragons in their first home game. The Sharks were up for their
first game at Pointsbet Stadium since 2019 last round and I expect a slight letdown
game from them following that. The Dragons on the other hand will be keen for redemption
after coming oh so close against the Panthers last week. Dragons by 4.

So with Timelord backing The Dragons and this preview I'm doing the Dragons.

After two rounds, the top six has undergone a transformation.

The Newcastle Knights are in first place based on game wins and overall game play statistics.

The Knights, Panthers, Broncos and Storm are the only four teams to have won their first two matches with the Cowboys and Dragons filling the top six spots.  The Eels and Roosters take seventh and eight spots with the Titans and Sharks in ninth and tenth spots.

My pics for round three are as follows:

Dragons, Warriors (a rare win this season) Roosters, Panthers, Storm, Raiders, Broncos and the Bull Dogs will keep the Sea Eagles grounded at the bottom of the ladder.

I missed the first 20 minutes of the Titans Vs Raiders game last night.  The Titans played a tight game, as did the Raiders... to an extent.  It just seemed the Titans played a much better game and their team have been doing many hours of training.

If the Newcastle Knights and the Brisbane Broncos win their matches this afternoon, the ladder board will/should look like this for the top eight:

It was probably just wishful thinking that England and Scotland would win.  I'm sure there were a few bookies who had to pay out big on Italy winning their game.
