A brand new rugby union competition starts on Friday when the PRO14 Rainbow Cup gets under way.
Intended to pit the PRO1

Has anyone seen this new competition?

Unless Australia is playing (and more importantly winning) then the media over here makes no mention in out participation in any events in the rest of the world (the Football Super League proposal is a global thing, so it's an exception, rather than a rule).

I'm off over the week-end so I'll have a look and finally catch up on making additions to post two.

Thanks for the information.

Has anyone seen this new competition?

It looks a good bit different than most competitions, There is 1 league table
and the teams from each country will play derby matches, The 2 Scottish
sides will play the 2 Italian sides. After all games are played the top
2 teams will play each other for the title.

Teams involved:

Ireland: Leinster, Munster, Ulster, Connacht
Wales: Cardiff Blues, Ospreys, Dragons, Scarlets
South Africa: Lions, Bulls, Sharks, Stormers
Scotland: Edinburgh, Glasgow Warriors
Italy: Benetton, Zebre

Thats pretty good picking Timelord2067. I am half thinking of running a
few bets based on your picks for round 7 even though I know nothing of the league.
I will have to investigate the odds.

Looks like the Rabbitohs have the best odds of the picks, 1.43

Week six of the 2021 NRL competition wraps up with the following results:

Round six pics:

Panthers.  Probably the Knights. I want to say The Storm, but I'm thinking the Roosters are getting better as the weeks progress.  The Titans over the Eagles, Rabbitohs, Eels and The Dragons in 20+ wins.  The Cowboys narrowly over the Bull Dogs...

I picked The Panthers, Knghts, Rabbitohs, Eels and The Cowboys.  I should have gone with my original feeling for The Storm (the Roosters are still in mixed form)  The Titans continue to struggle while their opponents, the Sea Eagles finally picked up a win.

Round 7:

Unless there's upset wins, my picks are:

Panthers, Rabbitohs, Eels, Storm in easy wins while I'm calling the Sharks in narrow win over the Bulldogs, Cowboys Vs Raiders and Roosters and Dragons are too close to call, Sea Eagles might pull some magic over the Tigers.

(Probably Raiders and Roosters).

All in all, five wins from eight games is good - two had too low odds to make it worth placing bets.

Thanks for the link, even the NRL's own website is very inadequate when it comes to information concerning the Women's competition.

Tonight's home game for the Brisbane Broncos looked like it could be an upset win as they were leading in the first 20 minutes and the Panthers fumbled a few plays.

In the end the Panthers won 20 - 10 which makes me think the odds next week will be that high the Broncos might just have an upset win.

(I also feel the Panthers may not make the semis if their fumbles continue the same way they did tonight.)

Totally forgot about the Womens Six Nations competition, round 3 coming up this weekend.

I don't suppose you know which sites have the women's games available to place wagers on? The two gaming sites I'm on don't seem to carry very many women's games other than tennis, or golf.

Yea its a bit dissapointing, i suppose there musnt be a demand for womens sports betting.
The best I can find is just an outright win >

"2 out of 3 aint bad"

Pity about Racing 92, they just lost in the last minute and could have gone
either way if it went to extra time it was that close.

Will you be making bets on the semi's of the Champions Cup?

I think i'll be going with both Leinster and Toulouse

So Timelord2067 whats your picks for this week, Panthers, Rabbitohs, Eels, Roosters

I had two of three wins on your recommendations:

I would have gone the other way with Bordeaux, but I'm happy with the payouts none the less.

Big win by the Rabbitohs and you are off to a winning start too.

Yesterdays games in the Heineken Rugby Championship saw La Rochelle progress to
the semi's along with Leinster who beat the defending Champions Exeter Chiefs 22-34.
This is great news and they are getting closer to picking up a second trophy of the season.

Lets see what happens today, I'm predicting wins fir Racing 92 and Toulouse

So I had a 50/50 won loss rate, Bordeaux Bègles beat Racing 92 with a last minute
penalty kick 24 - 2, that was a close game.

So now the semi's are (in 2 weeks time):

La Rochelle v Leinster Rugby

Toulouse v Bordeaux Bègles

So Timelord2067 whats your picks for this week, Panthers, Rabbitohs, Eels, Roosters

Big win by the Rabbitohs and you are off to a winning start too.

If the Wests' Tigers win, it'll be an upset win as they are trailing the North Queensland Cowboys 10 - 28 at the 55 minute mark.

I'll post the scores for the other games of round five once the Eels and Dragons play (and given the Eels haven't lost a match this season, I'd say I'm going to loose out on that match too).

*edit*

The Dragons ate the Eels for dinner 26 - 12

Round Five of the 2021 Season kicks off in a few days.  Based on the the round four results, my picks to win are:

Rabbitohs, NZ Warriors, Panthers, Knights, Storm, Roosters, Wests' Tigers and The Dragons.

Five wins, three losses called Vs three wins bet on and three losses with bets on the opposition.

Round six kicks off mid week with the line up as follows:

In Rugby, the Qld Reds continued their find form against the Brumbies - they have a bye next week then are likely to face-off in the semis in a few weeks time.

The Broncos got spanked by the Rabbitohs 35 - 6 including at least two field goals, one of which the first "two point field goal" from more than 40 metres out.  (The second was just to rub in the winning margin the Rabbitohs already had).

I managed to see the first half on TV - the Broncos had moments of good play mid first half, scoring once, then fumbled badly dropping the ball and at one point a Rabbithos player sprinted through four of five players and not one even put their arm out as though they were waiting for someone else to do the work.

At a guess, the Rabbitohs will be finals material and the Broncos are likely to be the "Wooden Spooners" for a second year.

Its really a modest payout if all teams win.

Oooh an accumulator! This will be interesting to see the results.

For such a spread that's massive odds, it will be massive if  your 8 pics do the business.

Personally I wouldn't do an acca, or rather I wouldn't have the knowledge or info on all
teams to make an informed choice, I would certainly not feel confident.

From what I can tell, all that happens is the odds are added together, it's not like the winnings from the first bet are then placed on the second, then third etc.

The bet is 0.00003 which works out to be $ 1.69 at the moment and the projected winnings are 0.00045 which is roughly $25.44 ( a lot of effort for little payout).

If the rollover snowballed, that would be a story to tell.

Looking at the table I see the Broncos are on the bottom half, it looks again like they are
just cruising like you were saying earlier!

Points difference isnt great -30, is that as you say it was in previous seasons?

From recollection, the Broncos won the first two games, then there was the long break due to Covid and lockdowns in most East Coast states of Australia.  Then when play was resumed, from recollection, the Broncos won just one more then lost the rest of the games played in the 2020 season.

As the odds are too short on their own to put a small wager on, I've decided to take out my first parlay:

All teams I've said will win this round of the competition.  (Fingers Crossed)
