Rugby League

I have 3 picks for this round, Storm, Roosters and The Sea Eagles. Hopefully there wont be
any upsets like last weekends disaster.

There are also some very close matches on which im not going to chance like The Rabbitohs v The Eels.
The Rabbitohs are slight favourites with sportsbet but I fancy The Eels (not enough to put Sat's on though)

@Timelord2067 are you investigating sportsbet?

I will this week-end (I've been away for a week as you can see in my lack of posts over the last week) I appreciate your letting me know.

Over on nitrogensports.eu you can now place a bet on who will win the 2021 NRL series - I've bet 0.1 MBTC on the top three - Panthers @ 2.75 / Storm @ 3.50 and Eels @ 8.00 (plus a "joke" wager for the Bulldogs to win 0.04 MBTC @ 2501.00 to payout 100.04 MBTC (i.e. BTC 0.10004 )   Grin

Rugby Union.

In the Super Rugby tran-Tasman series, I've got two bets on mortal enemies The Reds and the Blues to win their respective games against the Chiefs in a close game and the Brumbies who were bottom of the barrel in the recent Australian series.

Glutton for punishment, I'm going to say the Knights, Wests' Tigers, Dragons, Titans, Roosters, Storm, Panthers and the Eel.  (The Rabbitohs might make it an upset win)

Well...  Not the best of rounds - Most games were actually close and could have gone either way as evidenced in the scores.

Round 12 of the NRL 2021 season kicks off tomorrow -

My pics are:

Storm, Cowboys, Dragons, Panthers, Rabbitohs, Roosters, Sharks, Sea Eagles, (although I'm beginging to have my doubts about a couple of those bets)

So in the Heineken Champions Cup, Toulouse win 22 to 17. Despite loosing a man early
on to a red card and scoring a try in the last 8 minutes La Rochelle couldnt bring the match
to extra time.

NRL .... erm a few upsets over the weekend IMO.

I really wasnt expecting The Sea Eagles to beat The Eels 28 - 6, not even close...
And The Broncos to take the 36 - 16, so im 2 from 4 for round 11.

Not a good start for you on round 11 Timelord2067, hopefully the rest of
your picks will win over the weekend.

Heineken Champions Cup Final is tomorrow between two French sides
La Rochelle and Toulouse.

La Rochelle have an Irish connection, one of the coaches is Ronan O'Gara,
he is our all time highest points scorer and second most capped player.

Its La Rochelle's first time in the Champions cup final and they face the
most successful team in this competition including its former guise as
"The Heineken Cup".

Toulouse have 4 wins and 2 runners up positions to their name.

Odds on sportsbet are close, La Rochelle 2.28    :    1.60 Toulouse

I'll be shouting for La Rochelle of course but hmmm not betting on this one,
its too close for my betting style.

Thanks for the information, I'm going to check it out over the weekend.

I think the NQ Cowboys are making something of a comeback with their win over the Newcastle Knights.  The cowboys played a very heavily offensive game while the Knights faltered in their failing defensive game.  You could see the Knights were exhausted fifteen minutes from full time.

Ah right, some of the gambling sites here on the forum specialise on Casino type gambling
with no provision for sports. Rollbit (my signature) are getting great reviews but they dont
have sports betting (yet?)

Sportsbet are active here on BCT and they have a vast array of sports to choose from.

I might have to check that site out.  The gaming site in my signature only has some soccer games in the UK and European countries hence my use of the nitrogen sports site.

I'm using sportsbet.io and the smallest wager I can place is 0.01 mBTC but balances
can be 0.0001.

I play conservatively and still loose the odd one which means it takes
a lot to make back the loss. I dont like taking punts for that reason.

Bet big on small odds and bet small on large odds

Kind of 1 step forwards, 2 steps back

The website I'm using to place bets on the Australian Rugby League (Nitrogen sports) only allows placing a minimum 3000 says ( 0.03 mBtc)wagers and they round up or down on payouts in 1000 sat increments unlike freebitco.in which gives exact Satoshi payouts on bets, so to put a bet in something paying out 1.09 odds, I've got to place a 5000 sat wager for a 6000 sat payout.

This is why I'm taking a punt in higher odds for a wider win.  This year has seen wide winning scores.

In the next round of the NRL I have 4 bets on:

The Panthers @ 1.30 v The Rabbitohs

The Eels @ 1.45 v The Sea Eagles

The Roosters @ 1.08 v The Broncos

Storm @ 1.13 v The Raiders

I normally bet conservatively as per above.
The odds on the Panthers v Rabbitohs is fairly close 1.30 to 3.90,
I'm not sure the game will be so close, Im hoping it wont be.

The Eels v Sea Eagles odds are just as close, I cant see the top
2 teams on the ladder being beaten.

Thats making things a bit complicated @Timelord2067, Putting a spread bet
on with points, but close in the end with 2 bloody points.

This weekend in the NRL I am 5 from 5, happy with that, I havent made any
picks myself for R11, I'll dom that tonight I think and hopefully get decent odds.

This weekend in the Pro14 Rainbow Cup saw my home team beat a strong Munster
side [beaten finalists in the Pro14 Competition itself], Connaught finished the game
4 points clear, great result and one I didnt call.

The table so far with one game to play later today [Dragons v Ospreys]:

I will update later ith the southern conference table

EDIT:::

Looks like the Pro14 website is down, I took this screenshot from the Wiki page for
the competition.

Next round of games are in two weeks time and the final between a northern Hemisphere
team and a southern one on the 19 of June.

I have 4 from 5 in the NRL ATM with The Panthers leading The Titans 12-0.

Storm had a great win over The Dragons after they had a man sent off.
Addo Carr in top form with a hat trick again this weekend.

Just to add insult to injury, the Panthers added a late try and conversion minutes before the final hooter sounded:

Recapping the round:

My Round ten pics are:

Knights, Sea Eagles, Raiders, Rabbitohs, Roosters, Eels, Storm, Panthers,

I picked the Raiders over the Bulldogs, however, my point spread was outside the two point winning difference, so although it they won, I lost out.

Week 11 of the 2021 season:

Glutton for punishment, I'm going to say the Knights, Wests' Tigers, Dragons, Titans, Roosters, Storm, Panthers and the Eel.  (The Rabbitohs might make it an upset win)

Less than 30 minutes into the first half and the Rabbitohs are blazing the field leading 14 - 0 against the Sharks.

The Bull Dogs took the lead in their second half encounter with the Canberra Raiders, but tanked as they have done all year.  The Sea Eagles pounded the Broncos into oblivion yet again and the Knight lost in an upset loss to the Wests Tigers who have been playing a hot-and-cold season for stellar wins and stellar losses so far.

I have a few bets on the NRL this weekend, starting today with the Rabbitohs v the Sharks.
Hopefully the Rabbitohs can rebound after the thrashing they got last weekend.

And speaking of which I also have Storm against The Dragons because of that very thrashing.

I have picked the Roosters (v Cowboys), Eels (v Warriors) and a safe enough bet on the Panthers (v Titans)

 Grin class @Timelord2067

Soccer = pretending to be hurt
Rugby = pretending not to be hurt

In world Rugby (union) rankings there are a number of Tiers and the difference in class
between those tiers.

I posted this link before > https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_rugby_union_teams

Romania and Georgia which would be close to your home are in Tier two,
Croatia is in Tier 3 Development 2.

So there is a massive gap even to Tier 2 for Croatia.

There is a European competition running at the moment Rugby Europe International Championship
it excludes the Six Nations countries and I think Croatia has not qualified for the current set of games.

Next round of games June and July.

There you go, learned something new today, I never viewed Australia as having an interest in Cricket, but yeah, makes sense when you remind me that indeed, all Commonwealth Countries share love for Cricket (I honestly have never understood what the fuck is going on in those games, but it must be a cultural thing)

Well... It's simple really ... With Rugby be it League or Union as well as Soccer the players run that way kicking and carrying the ball... then they run the other way.  The ball gets too heavy so they put it down on the ground and their team mates come over to praise them with hugs and kisses for running so far with such a heavy ball...

In soccer they spend 80 minutes pretending they are hurt where as in the other games the players spend the 80 minutes pretending they are NOT hurt...

In Cricket, the object of the game is to hit the opponent's player in the head with the cricket ball, but to make it look like an accident.  The one who is having the cricket ball being thrown at their head tries to knock the ball away from their head.  If they do so - they can run home for dinner.  Most of the time they run away, change their minds then run back to where they were standing when the cricket ball was thrown at their head.

There are some other rules but they sound made up to me...

@TheNineClub, Croatia are #45 in the rugby world rankings, FWIW > https://www.world.rugby/tournaments/rankings/mru

In Ireland as I mentioned Rugby is the 4th most popular sport behind our
2 national sports, Gaelic Football (Aussie Rules Football would be the closest game to it),
Hurling and Soccer in 3rd.

Yeah, but the 45th placing is not all that great seeing that Rugby is played here for some time. But that all boils down to weak funding from the local government and weak support from people (I mean in numbers, not them shouting XD), and then in return, you get possible players not really thinking that Rugby is a viable option for someone who wants to get into professional sports, so they turn to more profitable sports if possible and that cycle just continues. It's interesting that the type of people that Rugby attracted in Croatia, were (for the most part), not your typical athletes but rather fans of the sports that enjoy the game, pain, and drinking, and I am not exaggerating here. We do have more regular athletes, but we really need to bump it to a higher level for it to do something more meaningful.

Gaelic football and Hurling? I'd never guessed it. Strange but also cool that it's not god damn soccer in the first place all of the time XD

I don't know too much about Croatia (except for it's troubled past & it's love of soccer).  It's only natural that games such as Rugby, Soccer and Cricket are an integral part of life in the British Isles (and in the Commonwealth Countries as well).  I'm in Australia and every one are "Cricket Tragics".

Rugby League Australia 2021 Season round nine results:

What can I say about the Rabbitohs being pounded by the Storm (Rabbit Stew anyone?)

My picks for week 9 are:

I'm going to say the Rabbitohs (even though the Storm are in near equal good form - it'll be a good game), Panthers, Eels (another good game in the making), Knights, Titans, Broncos, Sea Eagles over the Warriors (Dally Cherry-Evans will pull some magic out of his ass again) & The Dragons.  (And yes, I do put bets on all games)

(The only way I can make a bet worth while on https://nitrogensports.eu/sportsbook is to give the Bulldogs a headstart  Grin )

Rugby League Australia 2021 Season round ten pics:

My Round ten pics are:

Knights, Sea Eagles, Raiders, Rabbitohs, Roosters, Eels, Storm, Panthers, (I placed these bets prior to week nine starting - next week's round I'll hang off until I see how a couple of the teams do).

I'm being experimental this round with some point spread bets:
