creating cryptorubble for internal use for Russian States has no market value to the other countries, although it goes thru  a blockchain, for a state controlled cryptocurrency, the essence of anonimity and decentralization lost the integrity of cryptocurrency concept. The Russian's CryptoRuble is pointless after all, i have no clue why they will try to do that if they  hvae an existing electronic payment system design for Russian state. Having CryptoRuble doesn't mean it can stop other crypto related trading in Russia.

Putin green lights launch of the CryptoRuble
Published time: 17 Oct, 2017 10:59

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the issue of a national cryptocurrency, according to Communications Minister Nikolay Nikiforov, after a closed-door meeting.

The minister said once the digital currency or CryptoRuble is issued other cryptocurrency mining will be banned and it will be entirely regulated by the government.

“I am so confident to declare that we will run CryptoRuble just for one simple reason: if we don’t, our neighbors in the Eurasian Economic Community will do it in a couple of months,” said Nikiforov.

All the financial operations involving the CryptoRuble will be taxed according to the minister. The tax will also be applied to any appreciation in value.

“When buying and selling a CryptoRuble, the rate will be 13 percent from the earned difference. If the owner cannot explain the reason for the appearance of his CryptoRubles, when converting them into Russian rubles, the tax for him will be 13 percent of the total,” he said.

The national digital currency will be moved to international markets, according to the Russia's Deputy Minister of Economic Development Oleg Fomichev, stressing that there is no point in the currency circulating only inside the country.

“This mustn’t be a private currency, but the one, which is issued by the state, controlled by the state and enable to provide circulation of digital money in light of the digital economy,” he said.

How are they going to ban "other cryptocurrency mining" ? lol...

I would be fine with paying 13% tax though. Still better than the almost 40% capital gains tax in some other places.

Actually, I don't see CryptoRuble in any major news network. There is an RT article which is quite minor for such news, but I guess we may expect that they get info from the horse's mouth. The way it's worded is disgusting, launching government crypto while outlawing all other.

CryptoRuble - laughing my ass off. Guys - its not gonna hapen or if it for some reason will, i`t ll be a joke.
Seriuosly - with the amount of bullshit happening in our country and the quantity of non professional people in government - its not gonna hapen.
All this hype about it - because of the upcoming election in 2018 - our dictators main topic for election will be crypto economy and crypto ruble. but just the talks.
He cant even use a computer.
The amount of corruption and burocracy in Russia will never give birth to a good product as cryptoRuble.
China will lead in this question.

the issue of cryptoruble shows that governments are recognizing that cryptos may cause them loose control. Minister Nikolay Nikiforov explicitely said: “I am so confident to declare that we will run CryptoRuble just for one simple reason: if we don’t, our neighbors in the Eurasian Economic Community will do it in a couple of months,” said Nikiforov.
But cryptoruble will not have the advantages of altcoins: 13% of taxes, transactions from the cryptoruble to the ruble will be blocked, if there is no proof of its official receipt.

Maybe worth speculating on, but statal "cryptos" make little sense otherwise, imho.

What is there to speculate.
The value of the crypto ruble will always be one ruble.

You're better off doing this on forex with rub to usd/eur/gbp pairs.

Russia will not allow mine CryptRuble ordinary people, in the same way as gold. For me CryptRuble is not crypto!

So if mining will not be affordable for little guys, bitcoin will no longer be a crypto isn't it?
75% of the world population can't afford to buy a s9 in one year of saving, do you call this mining for ordinary people?
It is based on the blockchain and it uses a type of hash it is a crypto.
Like it or not this is the reality.

Half of the shitcoins out there are 10-20% premined  or entirely premined and people still invest in them and call them cryptos.

Be A Digital Miner
I suppose it's necessary to step forward to the future, but if they do something wrong it would be very hard to fix it in the future. Moreover people in Russia are mostly have bad financial education as I know. It would be a problem to make them use new type of money.

Russia will issue its own ‘CryptoRuble’ decided in closed door meeting in Moscow, according to the local news sources. So, what is these so called 'cryptoRuble' ?  Does anybody have an idea? what about the other cryptos in Russia? Is it starting to follow China?

Whether its going to be successful or not, I still see it as a way to show those who believe that bitcoin does not have a basis forgetting the back bone of bitcoin itself which is the blockchain technology and for the Russian government to place reliance on something like this show some support indirectly for bitcoin and this alone is what is giving me joy although I see it as a quest which might be dumped soon because it won't be anything different from what the current fiat over there is achieving.

I also wonder what will happen if all the nations have their own crypto currency, then what will be the role of bitcoin ?

Worst case for Bitcoin, it becomes the gold of the pre-crypto world. Highly regulated, not (that) easily tradable but still of value and also with intrinsic value due to moving large amounts of money fast and cheap (hopefully).

CryptoRuble, hearing it first time but if it is made for the Russia itself then people of Russia are going to enjoy the crypto a lot. They will have the government involved which means the crypto coin would be very famous and secure one to use. This will how ever limit the use as it's not being used for rest of the world. It could be positive in terms of not getting fraudulent cases or it could be worse by not having much of the investment. But it depends on what purpose they have been made.

I firmly believe that the government out there is trying their best to keep up with the trend and establish at least some kind of a position on the growing market as well as make some of that noise for the press to contradict the great amount of controversy in their policy towards most of the things the world runs around. I don't know, man. Bigger news is to be expected before one can make any judgements.

I read the news, it's ruble+blockchain. No different from fiat, they only add blockchain onto it. Every transaction will be tracked, it's not cryptocurrency anyway.
the name is crypto-ruble, but actually it's not crypto.
