I would rather sell the account instead.

Instead of paying you will receive money.
Some people probably don't want to go through the hassle of selling their account or could potentially have their identity linked to their account and doesn't want to risk that someone else with scam with it

Deleting an account is very simple, simply publish your password here in plain text. Grin

The account will be stolen rather than getting deleted.

Another option is to register in other BTC related services with the same password and email address. Tongue

Of course, Your account will work for some days, but not much. Cheesy Also, some people could get scammed.

Why I have a "2" in my name? Because I put the same address and password outside here. Sad

I like your service! Better to post this in Meta. Roll Eyes

Thanks, but its a service so it should be here.

I may sponsor the BTC for everybody and for 'cleaned-SAD-Service, most probably, only for Newbies and Jr. Member!!! PM me if you want.. Wink

Good luck, shorena.

Thats nice, Ill keep that in mind for my first customer.

Edit : Do you ask for signed message?[1]

[1] You know the procedures!

I prefer a signed message yes, but I also know that not everybody will be able to provide one. Ill take a look at each account individually and see if there is anything else to convince me that its not hacked. When in doubt they would have to change the password themselves. Wink

-snip-
Also i could only see one group wanting to use this please correct me if i am wrong but the only people i believe who would want to wipe the slate clean so to speak would be scammers who do not want their past doings coming back.

Sure, but scammers could care less about their accounts with plenty of negative trust. I suspect the typical customer is someone more average. Someone that would not mind to spend a little to not worry about the strength of the password or to have to go through all the posts again.

But you have stated you will attempt to keep scam-critical posts in place so that kind of rules out the scammers benefiting.

Yes, this and the 4 week waiting period are my methods to discourage scammers from using the service.

Either way i wish you luck in you're service at least you are trying to help although i cannot figure out who lol

Take care

Its a SAD service anyway, if no one needs it, its better for all of us.

I'm interested.

I hope you are not leaving us. PM/Mail me the name of the account and Ill take a look at it.

Haha, I was joking. Interesting service you have here!

Thanks, glad you are staying.

This is the funniest thing i have seen so you get paid to delete someones account, why would they want to do this?

I think the same when I see people using online wallets instead of something on their own computer. I dont know if anyone actually needs this, but I have seen the question asked, so I came up with a solution.

They could sell the account could they not?

Sure. On the other hand I wouldnt sell my account should I ever want to leave. It might be worth a few cents for someone to know the new passwords are out of their reach and yet the account is not used by someone else.

After you have kept the account for 4 weeks you sell the account way to go!!

Good question[1]. It would be very obvious if the account would start to post again though. I could maintain a list. Well I could edit the list. So the person doing the escrow could post here for which account the escrow is held. Thus it can be publicly verified that the account is not used for posts.

I like the idea. There does seem to be some level of demand for this. From the looks of it users are essentially paying for the time it takes to delete all their posts.

Deletion is extra, but I suspect it will be part of the most common deal.

Question: do you have any automated way to delete posts? If not then your price is probably too low as deleting a post can take several seconds.

No I dont. In fact I am not sure how I could keep "scam critical" posts in place with an automated system. If it takes to much time to delete the posts I will certainly increase the price. PMs are easy though, the forum has a build in "delete all" button.

Another thing to note is that I don't think it is possible to delete posts from locked threads and I know posts can't be deleted from auction threads.

Yep, thats part of fineprint [5] "Not all posts can be deleted."

[1] even though its missing the question mark Wink

Thank you for helping me figure this out a little better, i trust you would not be using the account but had to ask.

Also i could only see one group wanting to use this please correct me if i am wrong but the only people i believe who would want to wipe the slate clean so to speak would be scammers who do not want their past doings coming back.

This is the most hilarious 'Will Work for Bitcoin' service I've come across so far!  Cheesy

The idea is novel and amusing.
There may be hardly any customer (1 or 2 maybe within a period of a month), but what you're doing certainly requires some sense of humor and I appreciate that!

You have also given a thought to name your service well and I'm sure you enjoy what you're doing.

Thanks. I certainly had fun writing the scripts[1] for this and like the way the thread is going so far. I still take the service serious though.
