O come on man! You are talking non-sense and you know it. Tell me any of your monthly service (whether electricity, internet bill, mobile bill, water bill, house tax, etc) which accepts bitcoin as a payment. But most of these services accept internet banking or card payments. You can easily make such payments directly through your bank rather than hard cash. Problem solved, isn't it?

Don't divert the purpose of bitcoin. It isn't meant to overthrow other modes of payment but to provide much higher needed security and anonymity in making payments which I don't see relevant in this scenario.

Bitcoin really helped us in so many ways not only in a transaction and giving us profit. But it can be used also for safety purposes during this kind of crisis. It is really reliable in this circumstances where we can't use our real money because of the markets that doesn't accept it when we pay bills and buy our necessities in our home. Most especially those things that will protect us from the virus like masks, gloves, disinfectant and etc.


Most supermarkets only accept credit card, and bitcoin can be also converted so that you can also use this for payment in some transactions. It is also less hassle because in just one click, then you can send money as a payment. Some require fees and it is not a problem, you just need to find a bank where the fees are low. It is true that avoid using tangible money because it can be passed from one person to another from time to time and money can be transmitted faster because all of the people uses it.

Also if you touched a fiat money, wash your hands with soap, or alcohol so that you will not get the virus from it. Money is the most dirty thing in this world because of the bacteria that was into it from other people.


This is one of the advantages of bitcoin and this crisis really presented to most of the people what cryptocurrency can do during this Covid-19 epidemic. Its effectiveness and help to which it can still manipulate money from the market. I hope the government would notice and realize the power of bitcoin to help people but what they want. It can also be used for sending money for donation and it is really good where it can help people in times of need.

  * Is free from the government manipulation
  * Banks and the governments are failing , so is the currency at a time like this it's like the whole world is supporting one big currency .

I do think we are very very lucky that something like this was invented , people are supporting each other and Bitcoins is actually helping to balance out the communities where the prices of everything is dying.

Well, that is true that it is the right time to use Bitcoin but there is a problem. Not all stores or merchants that accept Bitcoin or crypto, they prefer to use fiat money even though we all know that it is very dirty and prone to a virus which is put our lives at risk. You are very lucky if there is a store near you that accept crypto, --I don't think if there is because perhaps only 5% out of 100% stores and supermarkets that using Bitcoin in our country.

Indeed, we have nothing to do about this matter is to stay at home and let the outbreak pass away. Be practical at this time and also have an initiative. If you holding fiat make it sure you wash your hand or sanitize after handling money.

It is better to stay inside the house because of the possibilities of you getting infected by the Covid-19. Bitcoin can be used as a payment if you want to pay for something like, goods, electricity bills, water bills and etc. Nowadays, it is true that it is very dangerous to touch a certain paper money or fiat money because it could be touched by an infected person so it is not safe. Instead, try to use your crypto wallet so that you don't need to go outside just to pay or buy for something, you just need to use your phone and you can access your bitcoin wallet instantly. You can also monitor the market everyday as the quarantine don't let you to go to your work and you can focus on your cryptocurrency.

It is a good idea but I don't think that it can really help.
The said reason for our needs to go out to buy foods cannot be done even if you use cryptocurrency. Because most of the grocery stores or any supermarket are not accepting crypto as a means of payment. Using it to pay bills can help to avoid touching money since the virus can be attached to it but not in buying goods.

Online payment is the answer to avoid the spread of the virus and bitcoin is so good for international transactions due to fast of the transaction between parts, becurse there are few businesses accept bitcoin in some country none of it at all, So they need to base on other online payment methods like Paypal,advcash skill, etc although some are not fast enough but are the only way for the current situation.

First of all, crypto payments are secure, yes (especially with an outbreak like this because you avoid direct contact), but they aren't faster than payments with paper money. Second of all, I don't need to go outside if I order essential goods from Amazon or if i order food delivery so, this is somehwat irrelevant to the point you're trying to make.

Last but not least, there are many alternative payment methods that are booming amid this pandemic like mobile payments and bank transfers, and the average joe is more than satisfied with those methods so, it's very unlikely that people will opt to use cryptos just because "gotta stop spreading the corona".

I believe that using bitcoin is not so difficult. For example, a huge proportion of bitcoin transactions are involved in the drug trade. And drug users are lower-class people, usually. If they figured it out , then everyone else will be able to do it.

There are other options besides BTC in our country but still it offers online transaction like paypal yet faster. This is aside of Bitcoin which a regular user who isn't yet informed about cryptocurrency will be having a hard time understanding even just how to use the wallet. Bitcoin is really hard  to introduce to regular people but the app developers on googleplay had been doing it for years I guess people just have to help learn BTC and crypto for people.

Limited contact between merchant and consumer is what's really the thing now given how fast the transmission of the virus is. Bitcoin solves just that, although it may still be very difficult to use it as currency knowing that only a few merchants willingly accept bitcoin as is. Plus the fact that digital payments channels are also already in place which people are very familiar too, so more probable than not, people are going to choose what they think is the best atm. Perhaps with the recent pandemic, people would be aware on how highly-infectious diseases work and how physical currencies are acting as vectors of transmission to it, and will come up with solutions to completely phase out physical coins and move on to digital currencies--or at least allow it to exist side-by-side with their own fiat.

I must agree, People these are weak when it comes to alternative when in fact bitcoin offers a free help to all with some easy steps on how to  understand and apply in real life. But one thing is hard to execute, bitcoin is well known for its use but is it applicable for now? I mean we have so much machines that is not yet capable of handling bitcoin and other crypto transaction, in short although bitcoin is best at this situation the point is we are not yet that fully aware of its application, we didn't even think that much of this beforehand.

The fact that government are having some trouble from financial terms revision because of crypto might be the reason why they can't have it for now as an alternative.

It is easier too if we try now to adapt the use of cryptocurrency and all of the online transaction because it is more secured and hassle unlike the traditional way that we need to queue too much.

You are right OP this is the best time to introduce other means of payment especially contactless payment and fast but cryptocurrency has many existing problems right now which still has no solution at the moment like scalability like in POS system how can we use it if it takes long time to confirm every transaction LN not yet fully implemented second the volatility in crypto is really high too risky to store crypto right now it must be converted instantly to stable coin to avoid this the only useful means of payment right now is using payment methods like credit/debit cards or paypal or like alipay in other country in my location we also have debit card readers stationed in many supermarkets and can use anytime by those who want to pay this kind of method.

They should consider seeing how bitcoin will be useful in this pandemic. In some countries, they have their special payment methods that's being used for their transactions and they have their specialized wallets.

This isn't crypto wallets but a centralized system that's being loved by the people and enjoys using it. The government should look into this solution for those countries that are not open about bitcoin's usefulness.

Today we are experiencing a virus and that is the coronavirus or the NCov19 that is becoming pandemic immediately in just a single week and today there are a lot of people still going outside even there is a quarantine. The reason why? They need to go outside just to buy foods and things they need and also pay their bills they are prone to the virus also the virus can now be attached to the tangible things like money if they are already infected and touch the money with the virus it is rapidly spreading immediately. And today it is good to introduce the use of cryptocurrency or the bitcoin using online payment because it is more faster and secured they don't need to go outside too to pay other things they need and it is better if we are spreading those information so they can now made online payment and let's stop spreading of virus.
