What are the odds that the Nobel Foundation now sponsored by banks is goin' to award a prize to some dude who disrupted the banking institution worldwide? I think Kenye West has a better chance of being elected president of the US.

This would probably be the most controversial nominee, if it will happen. See the list --> http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/lists/all/

Joke

Albert Einstein, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr is sitting in paradise... discussing the new nominees for the 2015 Nobel prize.

Albert Einstein : Who is this Satoshi Nakamoto?

Martin : Dunno, but he must be black.

Nelson : Yea, He fights against injustice and sounds very anti-establishment. He must be black.

Albert : You being racist now....

Martin : Says the white guy...  Roll Eyes

Nelson : Anyone for more refreshments?

Albert : I will have another double Jack Daniels.

Martin : Give me a double Jim Beam with water.

Nelson : You guys talk a lot of shit, when you boozed up.  Roll Eyes

Albert: Says the guy destined to serve us drink for an eternity.

Nelson: Touché.

Robin Williams: I couldn't help but notice the rope. Is this the porn room?

Martin: Wait, what! They have porn up here?

Albert: Are we really up here or down here? Relatively speaking, that is.

Bob Hope: Playing through. Hey, which one of you guys wanna be my caddy?

Nelson: I'm a bartender, not a caddy!

Leonard Nimoy: Fascinating!

One guy personally selects Satoshi for a Norwegian Nobel prize (not the famous one) and it becomes a headline "Satoshi Nakamoto nominated for Nobel Prize!" as if he is in the running for the big one.

it seems that professor Chowdry has violated official rules about nobel nomination process

Quote
You can only nominate people to be awarded the Nobel Prize — widely viewed the highest accolade in economics — if you have been invited by the Economic Sciences Prize Committee. And typically, every part of the nomination process is totally secret: "The names of the nominees and other information about the nominations cannot be revealed until 50 years later," the Nobel Prize's official website says.

Im just hoping that he doesn't come out of anonymity because of any of this. He has no remain anonymous forever for Bitcoin's sake. We don't want a visible figure for the media to bash at.

He will win this price, but not now , probably in the next 10 years!

As the work is against the establishment, it is very unlikely that he'll win ever. We should be happy with the nomination.

It is just a trap to make him reveal himself. They will assassinate him afterwards.

Satoshi Nakamoto has been nominated, but he is just one of many nominations. He will not win the Noble Prize if he does not reveal himself. Maybe he can sign a message.

woa, i have to say i belong to one of those who dont believe it at first too. but to be honest, i am really curious to find out who he is. i think he can be appointed but need not go and claim the rewards right?
The author of that post has already said that he is ready to claim the prize on behalf of Satoshi, but still you cannot give him the award money. Maybe, the award money can be donated to the foundation or to someone who will use it for the betterment of bitcoin.
i think, satoshi would have to agree if the money was to be sent to someone else.
Do we really need the money? I guess the community should be happy enough if we just get to see Satoshi being given the prize.

Satoshi will never come foward, even if they award the Nobel prize to him/her/them. The anonymous legacy add to the mystic of this entity. If I had a choice, I would rather have

Satoshi be anonymous. People will forever judge and awarding someone you do not even know, a huge prize like that, would dishonor the other people who received it before.

Let's not water down the value of such a prestige title.  Wink

Satoshi Nakamoto already is in possession of several hundred million U.S. dollars worth of bitcoins so the additional prize money may not mean much to him. Only if he wants, the committee could also transfer the prize money to my bitcoin address, 165sAHBpLHujHbHx2zSjC898oXEz25Awtj

Mr Nakamoto and I will settle later.

Sure...
Anything else that Satoshi can do for you?

Many industries such as Banking, Finance, Law will see a big upheaval. The consumers will be big beneficiaries and indeed the poor and marginal sections of the society will reap the benefits of financial and social inclusion in the coming decades. I can barely think of another innovation in Economic and Finance in the last several decades whose influence surpasses the welfare increases that will be engendered by Satoshi Nakamoto's brilliant, path-breaking invention. That is why I am nominating him for the Nobel Prize in Economics.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Satoshi is rolling in his grave. #bitcoin
I don't think Satoshi Nakamoto care about this Nobel Prize, it's just a crap for him even he won that novelty prize.

It doesn't matter if he wants it or not, but either way i believe he fully deserves it. Giving people the option to break free of the centralized banking system,
and giving them chance to be their own bank is worthy of a Nobel prize for sure.
I'm interested to see the outcome, and even tho he will surely never going to accept it in hands, this would make every bitcoin user proud they are a part of it as well.
