What are the odds that the Nobel Foundation now sponsored by banks is goin' to award a prize to some dude who disrupted the banking institution worldwide? I think Kenye West has a better chance of being elected president of the US.

One guy personally selects Satoshi for a Norwegian Nobel prize (not the famous one) and it becomes a headline "Satoshi Nakamoto nominated for Nobel Prize!" as if he is in the running for the big one.

Im just hoping that he doesn't come out of anonymity because of any of this. He has no remain anonymous forever for Bitcoin's sake. We don't want a visible figure for the media to bash at.

Satoshi Nakamoto has been nominated, but he is just one of many nominations. He will not win the Noble Prize if he does not reveal himself. Maybe he can sign a message.

woa, i have to say i belong to one of those who dont believe it at first too. but to be honest, i am really curious to find out who he is. i think he can be appointed but need not go and claim the rewards right?
The author of that post has already said that he is ready to claim the prize on behalf of Satoshi, but still you cannot give him the award money. Maybe, the award money can be donated to the foundation or to someone who will use it for the betterment of bitcoin.Satoshi will never come foward, even if they award the Nobel prize to him/her/them. The anonymous legacy add to the mystic of this entity. If I had a choice, I would rather have
Satoshi be anonymous. People will forever judge and awarding someone you do not even know, a huge prize like that, would dishonor the other people who received it before.
Let's not water down the value of such a prestige title.

Given the fact that Bitcoin Foundation is begging for donations due to current profits, I can imagine some of its board members going rect and claiming the price.

I don't think Satoshi Nakamoto care about this Nobel Prize, it's just a crap for him even he won that novelty prize.
It doesn't matter if he wants it or not, but either way i believe he fully deserves it. Giving people the option to break free of the centralized banking system,
and giving them chance to be their own bank is worthy of a Nobel prize for sure.
I'm interested to see the outcome, and even tho he will surely never going to accept it in hands, this would make every bitcoin user proud they are a part of it as well.
