In my experience they don't even make demands. It looks more like someone wanting to generally disrupt Bitcoin sites than an attempt at extortion.

We've been under sustained DDoS attack for days now. The website is mostly down, but processing continues to operate. There are some intermittent outages of the processing while we work on things, but all bets will process through correctly. We realize this DDoS is terrible for our players and we are working as fast as possible to resolve this mess.

There has never been a more horrendous misapplication of power than what I have seen spewed from the corrupt power hungry pulpit posers that run our government right now.

I really like the way you have blocked access to the site and technically, no 'gambling' occurs on the site. If there ever is a trial over this, I really hope it's televised. First, I want to see if they can find twelve jurors that can understand the bitcoin network, and second, how they think they can stop the transmission of bitcoins between any two people.

"The web server has a GeoIP database, but this can certainly have inaccuracies. I have updated the GeoIP database to the latest available. Visiting via VPN from Canada, it appears to work for me.

However, it depends on his [dooglus] specific ISP and whether the GeoIP database has their IP range accurately associated with Canada in the GeoIP database.

If this doesn't solve it for him, we could consider adding some special case rules, such as specifically allowing his IP address (or a range of addresses) through the check.

(Technically, I can't update the GeoIP database file itself, but I could add special-case code to our Terms of Service check.)"
