At one time the Saudi football leagues were not that advanced but now when a player like Ronaldo is included in the Saudi league, the popularity of the league is increasing day by day.  Going to its league, but now you see that many expensive expensive players in Europe are attracted to the Saudi League. When Neymar joined the Saudi league, the popularity of the Saudi leagues started to increase. The way Saudi football is working, maybe it will not be far away to the level of the European league.

Ronaldo has been known as a footballer with the biggest fanbase. I would not be surprised if he was able changing everything in the league. There have been so many great players with a lot of fans were also coming to the league like neymar.
There will be more big names to join in the saudi pro league next transfer season. I expect that if the rapid growth from saudi pro league can't be anticipated.
There have been various protests were coming from the european coaches like pep and jurgen klopp but i think this is a big progress being made by saudi pro league. It has beens tarted with benzema which has been deciding to join in al ittihad then kante was following him.
I think that slowly but surely SPL will be one of league that was dominating the asian. This league is growing a lot. It's even bigger compared with chinese league.

Presently, there’s only one factor that makes Saudi clubs being, in a way superior and that’s in the case of funding. With their extremely deep pockets, they could try and entice any player they want into coming over to play. The issue of funding is a very important factor but that alone cannot even begin to make it superior.
Don't be jealous.

If the players want to move from UEFA leagues to Saudi Professional League, then they have solid reasons to do so. I agree that money is definitely one of the considerations. Obviously in the recent past, UEFA clubs used their deep pockets to steal American, African and Asian players. Now Saudi Arabia is giving them a taste of their own medicine. Overall, quality of football in UEFA confederation is on the decline (would make an exception for France and England). And once the star players depart from their leagues, the quality will go down even further.

I agree with you. The quality of football in the UEFA confederation is declining. The Premier League and Serie A are very competitive. There are plenty of star players in the Premier League. However, there are few star players in Serie A. Also, Bundesliga and La Liga are not competitive. Every season in the Bundesliga we see the dominance of Bayern Munich. No other team even tries to win the title. On the other hand in La Liga we see the dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona every season. So in such a situation, if the Saudi League is able to spend money to add star players to their clubs, and try to improve the Saudi League, I don't see anything wrong here. They have a lot of money, naturally they want to improve themselves.

Players must be good enough to catch attention of clubs in Saudi Arabia and receive good offers from those clubs. If they are normal, poor quality players in Europe, chances for them to receive overpaid salary offers from Saudi Arabia is slim or impossible.

I don't get reasons to feel jealous with them as at least they are good players and have quality to contribute for their clubs on field and they also have ability to create effects in marketing aspect too. No doubt about marketing effects from Cristiano Ronaldo or Karim Benzema as they are super star players. For other players, they actually contribute good quality performances for their clubs in Saudi Arabia.

We have seen some notable transfers from the Saudi League this season. Various clubs in the Saudi League have signed contracts with players like Neymar, Karim Benzema, Yassine Bounou, Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, Fabinho this season.  After successfully making these transfers this season, various clubs in Saudi Arabia offered big European stars for some more transfers, but they did not succeed in bringing those players to Saudi Arabia.
Bounou would have not received offer to move there if he had not played well for Morocco in World Cup 2022 and for Sevilla in Europa League last season. Similarly for Brozovic with good performances for Croatia and Inter Milan. Mane, Firmino and Fabinho are famous players in Premier League so they are not surprising transfers to Saudi Arabia.

All leagues use the power of money to bring in players so there is no reason to exclude the Saudi League it's just that the Saudi League is a little late in using the power of money, not only Saudi even the American League also uses the same method. Now young players and old players have their own place to compete imagine if there was no Saudi League maybe we wouldn't see Ronaldo and Benzema playing again.

yep, indeed everything the SPL team does is the same as teams from Europe in the past so it is very natural that now the SPL does the same thing, spending a lot of money on star players from any team as long as an offer is submitted and the team agrees to the offer, it has become an agreement. together and we as fans have to accept this scenario even though we are a little worried about the performance of European teams after losing their star players but I am just sure that every few decades there will be star players who leave and there will be young players with great talent coming to replace the star players who have left so has no concerns regarding the decline in performance of any European team.

maybe there are still many who not agree with the big transfers made by SPL teams to get European players, but nevertheless all of this has a very good purpose.

Saudi Arabia Pro League is trying to make big change in the football history with its teams signing deal with leading football stars from different European clubs. It all started with Ronaldo and a big list of players have come into the Saudi Arabia Pro League. With the summer window closing Saudi Arabia Pro League clubs have spent £784 million on players. Among that 87% was spend by the four clubs Al Hilal, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad.

The budget should be higher, even reaching £1 Billion it's just that some of the targeted players refused/ignored the offer like Neymar the most expensive and others. Even though they have spent that much money, they haven't stopped as if to show that their spending targets have not been achieved, I estimate they prepared 2 Billion to bring in all the star players that doesn't include salary  Cheesy even though we know that in 2-4 years it cannot be guaranteed that they will get a return but they are confident.
With the amount of money that has been spent by several clubs in the Saudi Arabian league, I think this amount is still not enough to satisfy the Saudi Arabian League clubs, let alone the four clubs that dominate the transfer market (Al Ahli, Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ittihad). These four clubs and perhaps other clubs most likely still have very big targets in the transfer market. Even though this summer's transfer market is over. However, in my personal opinion, the summer transfer market that has just finished is just a warm-up for the Saudi Arabian League clubs. Because they will definitely see the response from the public or football supporters in the world. Whether the results are satisfactory or not. And now the results have been proven, the name of the Saudi pro league is increasingly prominent in the eyes of the world.

So my prediction is that in the transfer market next season, clubs in the Saudi Arabian League will be even hotter and will spend more money to attract great players from clubs in Europe.

And regarding returns, I think the clubs in the Saudi Arabian league are probably very confident that the sacrifices made will not be in vain. Or maybe the big changes made by clubs from Saudi Arabia are the first step to raising the level of football in the Saudi Arabian league. So the issue of returns may be a later matter.

Because logically, if the Saudi Arabian league becomes more popular, surely more sponsors and donors will come.

They have managed to make a significant amount of transfers this season, I think the Saudi League will be able to make more successful deals from this transfer season when the transfer window opens next season.

The unbelievable and surprising amount of money that was spent on the summer transfer window by Saudi Arabian clubs didn't happen as a sudden event to the Saudi clubs. I think they knew what they were doing because they wanted shock the footballing world by making those signings and changing the direction of interest from football fans from Europe to the Middle East.
They succeeded in selling the Saudi Pro League to almost all the corners of the world with those transfer deals. Now the Saudi Pro League is one of the most popular leagues in the world and that's a great achievement.
I think you are overestimating the Saudi Pro League, the majority of players brought in by Saudi Pro League clubs are players who have entered old age or players who are almost entering retirement. One of the most surprising things for football fans around the world is that the Saudi Pro League clubs dare to offer large salaries to players who come there. Money is certainly not a big problem for these clubs, because they have investors who have countless amounts of money at their disposal.

The level of the Saudi Pro League is still very far below the top European leagues, so it is very difficult to change the direction of football fans' interest from Europe to the Middle East. This phenomenon will not last long, the Chinese Pro League has done this before, but what happened?
Ronaldo's effect is certainly the most realistic, but how will the Saudi Pro League continue after Ronaldo retires?

Saudi Pro League improved substantially after signing Cristiano Ronaldo over, that was a bold step in making SPL into the limelight of football. SPL are yet to compete with European football because of couple signing of European players, they should concentrate on the main players and not settle for less if they really want to upgrade their league unto the next level. There are people out there that have suddenly keeping a close watch on the league, definitely after they brought him one of the favorite big name to the league. Al Nassr seems to be gaining alot of concentration and population in the league and also from European football lovers. If SPL continue like this, they will definitely bring in good spots into making positive development.

Ronaldo is old, very old but he still plays well and even better than many young players. He is worse than himself two or three years ago but his ambition is still high. He is still very professional with his body, training and career and he luckily avoided serious injuries through his career. At this age, any serious injury can end his career immediately and let's hope he will not get such because it's special time to enjoy a player like Ronaldo.

He may be considered an old player but he sure plays better than a lot of younger players today. He has continually worked really hard over the years, training and trying to improve on himself on the pitch. Ronaldo worked for and has earned a spot amongst the very best players in the history of football.

However, it will be crazy if Lewandowski and Salah finally move to SPL, too. This further shows the superiority of the Saudi clubs, especially in the strength of club funds.

Lewandowski and Salah are at the end of their career so they might consider a move to the Saudi Pro league next season. They both have won almost everything there's to win except for the Ballon D'or which seems impossible for any of them to win in the future because they're out of been the favorites as we have new generation of youngster like Mbappe and Haaland that'll be fighting for the title. Soon there won't be much left for this duo to do in Europe and they'll want to retire like the rest by headings to the Saudi Pro league. Salah would be the most tempted as his forward teammates Sadio mane is already in the Saudis enjoying his football and the money.

Well.. I thought that Salah is no longer in the radar of Saudi clubs? He had rejected their offer a few months back, right? Al Ittihad went all guns blazing for Salah, but Liverpool rejected all of their offers. The Saudi club was willing to pay a massive £150 million in transfer fees. Liverpool wanted Salah to stay with them, as they are aiming for the title race at English Premier League. However, Saudi media is reporting that Al Ittihad hasn't given up. They are going to further crank up the offer and it is going to get really crazy. BTW if this doesn't work out, then Al Ittihad may settle for Richarlison instead of Salah. Talks are ongoing now with Tottenham, as per media reports.

They wouldn't physically spend that much, there aren't that many "stars" coming into this league. I mean for one team it's a lot if you only look at one or two transfer windows. Spending that kind of budget and attracting really good stars can be done in two years minimum... I keep waiting for them to start paying players less, to start really appealing with their league and not money.

I think it would require way too much money to actually hire the amount of talent required to make this league a worthy rival to, say, the European leagues.

But, at the end of the day, the European leagues are partly great to watch because they are paying the big bucks to bring the best talent there.

It might be just a matter of time. We'll have to wait and see...

In any case, it would require a lot of players, not just a few superstars.

Getting the 2030 world cup would definitely be a profitable business for them if they can pull it off but even with all the money that they are spending right now, and the money they are going to spend to build a system for it, the profit will not be that big for them, it is not going to be that simple.

It's not about the direct profits for the Saudis, they're not taking on the project to host the world cup for what they'll be getting directly from the world cup but because of the business opportunities that the world cup will open for them. The world cup is a big tournament that the extremely wealthiest individuals attend and when they get to visit Saudi Arabia they might want to get into business with them and the direct funds that'll be sent to the Saudis to build stadium and other structures. World Cup gives exposure and development to the host nations. Qatar is a perfect example of what the world cup can do for a nation. Also tourism will be increase as those who visits Saudi Arabia for the world cup would want to come back due to the hospitality and other things they'll love about their visit to the country.

Lewandowski and Salah are top priorities of clubs in Saudi Arabia. After having three big star players, Ronaldo, Benzema and Neymar, they are targeting younger players like Salah. They failed in this summer but I believe they will return to Europe with other offers in next transfer. If their plan is for World Cup 2030, they will continue to spend money to improve quality of their league with hope that it will help their local players to learn from those legendary players then increasing quality and competitiveness of their national team.
Of course, Saudi clubs won't give up to sign more superstars players. They won't feel satisfied although they have Benzema, Ronaldo, and Neymar. It is even be a motivation to have more European top players. I am not surprised if Saudi clubs will offer bigger money for Lewandowski and Salah. These players are still in their top performance and they are mainstay players for their current clubs. So, it won't be easy to sign them. The only way to raise the opportunity to sign them, is to increase the amount of transfer fees. Huge transfer fees can shake the commitment of club managements to keep their mainstay players.  Grin

However, it will be crazy if Lewandowski and Salah finally move to SPL, too. This further shows the superiority of the Saudi clubs, especially in the strength of club funds.

Regarding League rankings we haven't got the latest release yet but if we refer to last season's data the Saudi Pro League ranking is under 60th it's far from the best league category moreover they have not won international competitions such as AFC and others, for the most popular league category maybe the Saudi Pro League is in the top 10 in these 2 seasons they got a lot of attention and views. I think this is what the owner wants to get a lot of attention as well as promotion for hosting the World Cup and property investment.
Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia is the most successful club in Asia. They have won the AFC Champions League four times, the Asian Cup Winners Cup twice, and the Asian Super Cup twice. So in terms of continental competition some Saudi clubs are performing well. Currently the Saudi league is ranked sixth in Asia but it is well known that this ranking will soon change to favour the SPL because of the quality of players and coaches that have moved to the Saudi league.

They wouldn't physically spend that much, there aren't that many "stars" coming into this league. I mean for one team it's a lot if you only look at one or two transfer windows. Nothing is exciting about the Saudi League for now except the money. None of those players went to the league because of love or passion. Immediately you stop paying huge fees, the league will become dormant just like what happened in China. The League management should seek other means to make the league durable aside from giving players irresistible offers. One of the ways of sustaining this growth is to build local players. If some unknown players suddenly grows and becomes superstars more younger players will like to join the League.

When I hear that one of the reasons why Saudi Arabia is spending so much to attract players and improve its league is for the World Cup in 2030, I wonder if it is necessary. It might be necessary in terms of building their national team and infrastructures for the World Cup but I don't think it is needed for them to win the hosting rights. Many of the countries that have hosted the World Cup didn't have to build a world-class league to win the bid. An example is Qatar which has one of the lowly rated leagues in the world but they ended up playing the game legally and illegally to win the host right. Saudi Arabia should know that FIFA is governed by some money mongers and most of the delegates that will vote in the process are corrupt which is very shameful.  I also think that if all this spending and hype is just to win a World Cup hosting, then it isn't worth it. Saudi Professional League should be built to make it compete favorably with top European leagues for a long time.

Spending money for palyer is not related to other things like hosting the World Cup. Saudi Arabia wants to make their country bold by hiring famous players for the teams and this can definitely affect the whole country and this can show this country is safe and a good enough place for other people to come. In fact, they want to show a better face of their country to the world. But that's not related to hosting the World Cup.

Mohamed Salah is a Muslim player, which makes him the most likely to move to the Saudi league, considering various aspects. Al Ittihad seems to offer Salah better money as well as more facilities and for the Muslim nation Salah is certainly keen to join. I think Salah will probably join Al Ittihad, he will definitely go to the Saudi leagues as a player in the Muslim world. It would be a compliment for him to join Al Ittihad as a Muslim. Muslims all over the world would want Salah to play at a Saudi club, and the Muslim star would certainly show more interest in going there.
I completely disagreed with you about this all because right now soccer is much better than religious and personal ego's it is matter of quality and prestigious there is no doubt Mohammad Salah is Muslim but still he is one of the best strikers in the world which is key player for the Liverpool and have important role in Jürgen Klopp strategy which is having good impact on Liverpool future just because of this they already rejected one of the biggest offer form Al Ittihad few days back and now most chances he will stay in this club for this season with most chances he can leave in coming season.

Currently, Liverpool is having good start of this season and if they allow him for any transfer then surely things can go worst for them as well they are already out of the Champions League for this season and with this exit and having not good option for suitable replacement they have no choice.
