Some beautiful points here, think you should make a thread about the current competition and the current points stated about other coins.

I really can't wait for the coin to grow but the lower it drops the more investments im putting into it Smiley

Unfortunately I have nothing more to invest. I typically spread my Bitcoin among many alts, but because of the rise in Bitcoin, I figure the best bet is to put it into 1 alt that is strong temporarily - Sia.

If you send me some Sia I will do that write-up today and post it tonight. I will make sure to include citations. It will also give me a chance to dive deeper into Filecoin.

How does 3000 Sia sound (about $18 (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/siacoin/ price multiplied by 3000 ~= $18)) ?

Note: I will accept this from anyone else too. Hell...crowdfund the $18 :V

I will mention it was funded by you, heh. And hey, maybe we can +1 trust each other too (haven't had any chance to use this trust system on bitcointalk).

Haha, doing a write-up would benefit you if you are part of Sia and have Sia currently. - I'm not giving away free cash, You've already answered some questions that others had and thank you for that.

What I was thinking is if you post a detailed good post on here, may give some Investors something to consider and perhaps will help get Siacoin the right attention/publicity is deserves since Siacoin don't do much to publicize and make the coin more known-focused on.

Any sign of Bitcoin rise going to stop any time soon?

I personally do not want to cash out my Sia. I truly believe in it, and will hold even if it ends up being worth nearly nothing.

At least I can turn my Sia into storage space...

I also love the project but there are so many competitors and even more of the coming. Filecoin, MaidSafe, Storj, etc. Honestly, I don't know which one will eventually survive.

I am going to have to write an article, because people seem worried about these "competitors".

Let me just do a quick summary, ok?

1. Filecoin does not exist and will not for 3 more frickin' years? Wow...have fun with that.
2. MaidSafe is trying to be too much at once. It is trying to do CPU sharing, storage sharing, and a few other things. The development is also ultra slow, and bogged down by office politics.
3. Storj is centralized, and basically dead. Filezilla integration was a last "hurrah". I looked at their code for that integration, it is not rocket science. All Sia needs is another Bounty  for this integration and bam, suddenly in-your-face to thousands of employees and students.

Who else we have?

4. Shift - not a direct competitor. Interesting is they use IPFS, so this will allow for temporary, fast storage, but not better safety than Sia. I can see this actually complementing Sia.

I think that's it.

And Sia? Well it has everything going for it.
1. Proven technology
2. Agile development team
3. Strong community with great people to explain how things work
4. Truly decentralized
5. Network security in the coming months with Obelisk
6. Integrate-able with MANY services. Imagine if you see an integration for GitHub? Facebook? Google Drive? Holy...See you later, I'll be on Cloud 9 while the rest of these day traders are on Poloniex sweating their money away.

Thank you for taking your time and giving such a detailed answer! Really appreciate it. Now Sia's future looks a lot brighter after you answered my questions Smiley

Do not panic. Remember how volatile this market is. Remember when Sia was 29 satoshi? I do. I remember when it was 800 satoshi too. I did not sell once.

Good things come to those who wait.

Remember when Bitcoin was $700 USD? Remember we went crazy that it broke $1000? Now it is almost 5x that. 500% increase.

When you have strong technologies, they will shine with due time. The Sia team is strong and smart.

Here is what you do instead of panic:

1. Get Sia
2. Download the blockchain
3. Become a host
4. Create file contracts and start hosting, to grow your investment.

You will end up with more Sia and be really happy as it goes up. You will be contributing to the growth of a fantastic technology.

What happens when the day comes, where Sia gets funding from Big Daddy Google? Or Amazon themselves?

The issue you guys have is you are thinking way too short term. You need to just forget you even bought Sia. You cannot count on Sia being your day-to-day job.

Keep making money working. Pretend you have not bought any Sia. Check back once a month. If there is a rise, you may not be able to sell right at the peak, but you will be able to sell higher than what you previously could.

It is the long time holders that become big, and then can really start making money short term trading with big dollars. 1-2k in 1 day is peanuts to them.

Think with your brain, use your heart for everything else.

I completely agree with you on this, I actually have a lot invested in Siacoin and continuing to add more and more as I go along.

Currently have over 500,000 SiaCoins and growing. I see a bright future and I see the second Storj Coin and this new FileCoin ICO that is supposingly released in 2020... The second these have blips you will see people revert back to SiaCoin which will show on news and Siacoin are not advertising or Promoting their coin at all, imagine the big difference when they will get a marketing team in place for their coin! Will be insane as investors will have a lot more publicity.

I want to keep this thread alive because not only SiaCoin but also other coins are facing a huge dump of their exchange rate to bitcoin, I remember clear when the price was at 750 satoshis and I really believe that the price of sia will be higher and higher but it didn't happen, now the price dumped to 179 satoshis which I really feel bad and made one of my worst investment.
I think that those coins are dumped but still have the same USD value. Not really a big dump though, just people think that the value of a coin still remains the same since many people still consider the value in USD, not in BTC.

Well that's how it works normally for people that invest in something and value that thing in USD or fiat because they invested through fiat, but for others like me I estimate the value in bitcoin only because I invested in these altcoins in bitcoin and I never check what's the value of bitcoin/altcoin in USD because I have made the investment cash to crypto a long time ago and I don't compare this.
From this I can conclude that it worth more to hold the bitcoins rather than invest in altcoins because you will get higher value instead losing your money investing in altcoin.

There are soooooo many new altcoin ICO's being created
that a lot of people want to get on those and make big gains rather
than hold longterm.

IMO

The likes of SIA are being forgotten about or replaced in this case
by FILECOIN its looking like the next ship to jump onto, just as SIA
was the ship to jump to from STORJ, very few people are really
interested in the actual technology, its all about making millions of $'s  Roll Eyes

All of this is panic sellers/news.

That's totally fine, buy low sell high! I know SiaCoin will prevail we will see a huge pump just like we saw for a lot of coins near the following Financial Year.

Expect after all the miners are released + they will have a lot of news around January. Through to May 2018 - The coin will show its true colours.

And they had that interview where they said that they want a stable price for the coin. That's where all the traders left and the coin crashed to where it is now. They might be good developers, but only as long as they don't have to interact with the public. Look at XEL, they are on the road, having meetups and stuff like that, very active on Twitter, showing what they do.. Much more promising, even though that coin lost value, too. But there I know they will rise again.

Siacoin probably falls in the same category as Factom and Golem: lack of news and (almost) no product updates, so existing holders lose their interest and no new buyers come because they do not put themselves in the spotlight.

I have placed buying order at 100 satoshis. Buy low sell high is that simple

it is better to do like this, with this way, we can take profit and we can still following the price no matter the price wants to go. i still have siacoin in my wallet and i am ready to waiting the increasing price. but i realize that if bitcoin price is increase, the altcoin will be down in the bottom and waiting bitcoin price is down then altcoin can up for the price.

Looks like Sia was ghit just because of competition. Lot of people I talked says XEL is lot better product than Sia. When I look into Sia data, actually their development isn't slow or anything like that. But I don't know for sure, people don't really believe this coin.

Let's be honest, sia project will never beat the uptime and reliability of the competition, which is dropbox, google, microsoft ecc
Plus their pr sucks, i got burned after the asic announcment and with me a lot of people since it never recovered from there

The price of SIA was not simply dumped. The surge in BTC value directly affected SIA.

Come to think of it, if you bought SIA at 400 sat last month you would still have almost the same amount in fiat as you have now because bitcoin price has almost doubled.

Just wait for things to stabilize. Siacoin is a good project that will surely rise as well.
