I think for beginners, it is advisable to understand the whole ICO explanation from the understanding of reading white paper, getting to know the ICO team, and accessing information about telegram.

It is true, more and more existing ICO project. Then more and more projects are also a scam. Reportedly, there is even a project that was deliberately created a scam. It is intended to trap us. then we have to be careful and keep more selective.

Yes that is why we investors must be really vigilant, we need to do a proper and deep research in the ICO that we will be investing on, make risk lesser!

It really is hard to believe that there are some ICOs who are intended to scam people. There are all hypocrits and rely on the weakness of people especially those who are new to bitcoin. So sad.

I think more and more coins will come out with pre-arranged partnerships and use cases....these will be the ones that have the best chance at succeeding, or at the very least not being a straightup scam.  Look for names you already know and trust tied to coins and verify there's really been a development activity on both sides.

It is fact that there are so many scam coins it is very difficult to identify which one is genuine. However, best way to identify genuine is know the project white paper, their team etc.

it is not news to the globe that most of the ICOs that are currently running are scams and just a means of extorting money from the general public, but it is known that there are some reputable websites that do ICO ratings and from such websites you can get an ICO that is reputable and you can decide to invest in such they narrow your chances of falling into scam coins. thanks

It is sad.  I don't know how I could live with myself knowing I caused so much suffering to people.  It is easy to pull off ICO scams so the allure is there and unfortunately there are people who either are born with no prosocial emotions or empathy or just didn't learn that others are just as sentient and concious and don't want to suffer as well - so they do.  I just hope some of them change their mind and give back the money though that will likely only happen in cases where they become threatened.  Hopefully more crackdowns will occur.

Yes, I agree, scammer is everywhere and we should take some time to research about the project so that we can avoid the scammer. It is also true that most of the victim of the scammer are the beginners but you cannot get a lesson if you did not get the mistake, we should think positive about the ICO, just research about their websites, research about the developer and teams. You should check also if the project are reach to softcap or hardcap, that is also very important, because if the project have many investors, this project will become successful in the future.

This is life and people will always want to take advantage of unsuspecting people for their own selfish interest. It is actually sad, but it is up to you to protect yourself.

yes very unfortunate, the knowledge possessed is misused to deceive the weak and new people in the crypto world. many ICOs are now being fooled into seeking merely profit. a very stupid thing I guess, because as if they do not care about the same who is harmed. we as users of crypto must remain cautious and more thorough in choosing the ICO we will do. may we be distanced by such things.

I try to explain to you how to look at ICO who will succeed until listing coin on Exchange.

- see its ICO website.
- see softcap and hardcap.
- see whitepaper.
- see the ICO group's telegram.
- see the network in which the ICO is used, if its network other than Ethereum may be considered again.
- see his developer team.

hopefully my advice can be accepted by you all.

Thanks

So you dont like ETH ICOs? There are alot of trash ICOs on ethereum chain, but also some very good ones so i would not discard a ICO just because they use ETH.
And if you meant if its not ethereum you would not invest it is not a valid point. NEO also have some decent ICOs.

Of course there would be scammers here because they think crypto is easy money and they can earn money here without sweat by deceiving investors or buyers. It's up to us how to spot this kind of project. We must be alert in joining icos that are too good to be true.

In particular, 90% of the ERC-20 tokens are fraudsters. I no longer participate in the airdrop, and many other ICO risks are also very high.

I also feel. already a lot of scam ico. offering products and bonuses. offers listing exchange with top 10 exchange. but when they reach the hardcap or past the softcap, they just run away. purchased coins are worthless.

Don't be so well thought out, it's already a risk that must be traveled. ICO scam is indeed starting to trickle in, but many of the ICO are nice, too many appear even very promising. just let the people who do this, the most important is how do I find ICO is real and can be spared from the scam. these things are important and should be done.

Yeah, I think about that sometimes. It's always been like that, money attracts scammers. Regulation can help, but it's against the principles of anonymity and privacy.

This is a reality - there are so many of them now that it becomes really sad. Everyone wants to earn himself without sharing with anyone who contributed to this work . It is harder and harder to find a decent, honest and promising project
