Hodl?

Chat logs here: http://shadowcash.io/

Yesterday Soepkip (official former community manager), 00Smurf and another reappeared in IRC/slack after months of absence.

In the absence of any news or developments it is probably a pump, not that I mind since friends I advised to invest in SDC can shortly get their initial investment back, should they so choose.

The above graphs were those dasource made mostly on my persuasion I think it's fair to say. Sad that months later people still dont understand them (maybe a yellow line to show SDT available? the only thing people care about)

Nobody deals with any of the issues I raised? Ask anybody - the whitepaper sucks and no serious investors will step up till the documentation is sorted AND green-lighted by peers. Enjoy the pump though.

I am no FUDster. If I wanted to FUD things would look very different.

BTW Cryptsy in maintenance mode cause of a long-standing bug in shadow wallet leading to intermiitent crashes. Polo and Trex have setup scripts to restart the daemon, Cryptsy have not.

How can the number of SDC destroyed go down?
Quite simply as wheat mentioned (although I would not use the word missing ... it has been destroyed/converted for SDT equivalent) ...
Say I have converted 1,000 SDC to SDT ... after several months I have finished doing my business and decide that whilst I am on holiday I want to earn some extra SDC via PoS ... I convert my SDT to SDC (thus creating 1,000 SDC (hence the total of SDC destroyed goes down)).

Also, if we wanted to convert some SDC to SDT to create outputs for the network, what do you think would be the optimum value to use? It seems like there should be some value that would create the most SDT outputs per SDC converted.

Below shows the current state of Shadow Tokens ... take 300 as example it has 68 tokens available. so you could send a transaction for 300.1 (that should create a token of 300 + 0.1 fee(or whatever the fee is for that amount))

Code:
sdc@www01:/$ shadowcoind anoninfo
{
"No. Exists, No. Spends, Least Depth" : "value",
    (snipped anything <1)
    "00178, 00116, 10403" : 1.00000000,

SDC Destroyed is the amount of SDC that is currently "missing" from the blockchain. So when SDT are redeemed for new SDC, that number decreases.

Does the chart below show cumulative transactions over time or daily transactions? I'm assuming it is a running total.

Approaching 4 Million SDT! Plenty available when the doors open for business.

I have been meaning to make this easier to understand .. just not got around to it.

"blue" - total # of SDC and SDT transacted (value)
"black" - total # of Shadow Tokens created (value) (the more SDT available the better for anonymity!)
"green" - total # of SDC currently destroyed

How can the number of SDC destroyed go down?

Also, if we wanted to convert some SDC to SDT to create outputs for the network, what do you think would be the optimum value to use? It seems like there should be some value that would create the most SDT outputs per SDC converted.

You FUD me? All my points are valid. I'm not crazy although I almost went out of my mind waiting for Zeuner.

I'll tell you a story…

His name is Ivan. He's a software developer.

My enthusiasm for SDC at the time led him to read the shadowsendv2 whitepaper at http://shadow.cash/downloads/shadowcash-anon.pdf and download the windows wallet about four months ago. Ivan described the wallet as buggy and unresponsive and he was equally upset by the whitepaper which he criticized for being uninformative and incomplete. He asked why both NIZKPs and ring sigs were being used when, as he understood things, either one on its own was sufficient to provide anonymity. Ivan did not invest.

You might like to think of Ivan as a figment of my imagination as I sit there ranting to myself. Alas no, he's real. And he's right. The whitepaper is somewhere between not good at all and really really bad. The previous whitepaper for shadowchat (which Ivan has not read) seems equally thin and is even shorter in length. It does not appear much effort has gone into producing the whitepaper, and even less so any other technical documentation. It is completely understandable Zeuner would request more information.

Security and anonymity in software cannot be claimed but rather must be proven over time through rigorous testing and expert analysis. I do not understand why nine months after the release of shadowsendv2 we are still nowhere closer to understanding the technology, and I find it hard to believe the creators would not be proud enough to have explained by now. Trusting the in-house cryptographer who has never posted anywhere and is an unknown entity is simply not good enough after almost 10 months.

Furthermore It is unclear if the market will be suitable for selling contraband since human readable addresses are required to send goods to, as they always must be I suppose. What prevents FBI honeypots and under-covers gathering customer information? I do not know. Sending money anonymously appears a lower hanging fruit than sending goods anonymously.

As things stand now there is no hope of any tech documentation or improved whitepaper or Zeuner review or ANY review until well into 2016. In fact given recent comments I would not be surprised if Zeuner told the Team to shove it and returned the 5BTC, assuming he holds the private key to the donation address.

As I see it you have two choices:

1.) Publish a new and improved whitepaper and technical documentation and provide closure on matters raised regarding the PoW phase which lasted not 30 but 11 days and what appears to be a powerful solo miner.

2.) Or not, and risk losing more credibility.

The only credibility problem here is you! I thought you were done here? No one wants to hear your stories, or anything else you have to say. Please honor your word, and get lost!

Good day my fellow Shadowers,

what I saw is a classic price manipulation with low volume market.
It was not really a dump. We use to have a lots of "dumps" or I would say trades in past, almost every week one-two bigger amount..

The true is that price go down a little. If you didn't sell, everything is ok  Smiley

Do not fall on those panic behavior like fud, huge sell walls, no buy support..

Team and devs working hard, every day, and we will get perfect product out very soon.

Live long and prosper!
Cool

Regards to all of you

Why the dumps ?

It dumps because its a shitty coin and people star to see this. No more people want to buy, only sellers left. Now the house of cards will fall.

Why the dumps ?

Unsure. I'm assuming it's related to the slight increase with BTC and LTC as the week's gone on.
I don't mind, I'm happy coins are available this low, makes my weekend  Cool

Yeah. Grab your buckets and load silly cheap SDCs when you can :]

With the way development is going, I won't say we will have this opportunity again.

Have a nice weekend everyone!
