So Evan lead dev from Drk is stalking us now?
They fear getting dethroned I guess
Its not about dethroning anyone... It is in the best interest of everyone for like minded project developers to work together. A merge would rocket the value both coins, provide an epic team of developers, and lets face it, Darkcoin is much bigger than Shadow.
Although I have some reservations about the proposed merger, the DRK/BTC price action since the announcement was released suggests that the markets like this idea.
Please feel free to join the discussion.https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-shadowcash-merger.2918Well, it looks like the discussion's over anyway. I'm not sure the Shadow community would've gone for this to be honest, the proposal seems to have been stacked pretty heavily in DRK's favour.
It's nice to see that the quality of the developers' work is being recognised by some of the others in the industry now. It's felt a bit like a secret club in here at times, like when you find an amazing new band playing in some shitty bar and you almost don't want loads of other people to find out about them because then they wouldn't be "yours" anymore. But I guess it was only a matter of time before the secret got out and the big labels came sniffing round.
Anyway, welcome to anyone from the DRK community who's here wondering what could've prompted Evan to propose the merger in the first place. The
OP gives a pretty good project overview and testing has begun on the zero knowledge anon implementation, so you've arrived at a pretty exciting time!
Agreed, its nice that drk is showing the rest of this space they mean business and that they see value in this project, its community and its devs. I do however, see the proposal as extremely insulting (as a lowball) and a way to pick extremely talented devs on the cheap, and or consolidate the dev talent in a very cheap way. It all favored drk and i believe it made sense for Evan to propose such a thing. However, he could never have thought it wold move past just the insulting lowball. I'm sure he understands it was not very fair; taking a snapshot of our market cap before our milestone release.
Some may argue he is afraid, Shadows' Zero Knowledge will will basically push his master node, spaghetti network into the frey and he would have every right to be. But i cannot speculate on such things because i just don't know!
Shadow has not yet established itself to be calling its 400k market cap any type of true value to be proposing such an absorption based on its current market cap. Thats like as someone said, litecoin going to them right before their release of the 1000 master nodes and offering to absorb based on that snapshot of their market cap. Its just not fair on the project and it seems like an attempt to pick up cheap resource. Which makes sense in a business sense because big business absorbs competition and their tech on the cheap because they have the power to.
I'm more concerned Evan did not consult his community before offering such a proposal to increase drks money supply. He has, however, proposed it in a way that is covers a lot of bases with regards to emission and inflation. I am still a little concerned as to the transparency or lack of, rather. Thats something i firmly believe this whole industry can really do with focusing on; so there is no doubt in anyones mind about anything.
At the end of the day we (the community) are what really drive these projects and not a core dev team only!
It is a nice self esteem boost for Shadow and gives a lot of legitimacy to this project, dev and communities ability to give it value. Just my .9
