You might need libqt5webkit5-dev package if you're not running KDE. If you have the latest linux release and it won't run, try running it via terminal, you'll see the problems. Missing libqt5webkit5-dev package was a common one.

SDC has the best Linux wallet of all the cryto currencies. I have tried many and this one by far is easiest to install and run.

I've been buying SDC for quite some time, and haven't lost a penny. To lose 4 BTC on this coin, you would have to be nearly perfect at making exactly the wrong moves.

Same thing could be said for Bitcoin back in 2012. SDC is $ .30 cents today, it could easily be $30 bucks tomorrow. I would venture that it isn't likely to go much lower.  

Look at what the developers are doing, and make up your own mind. It's called speculation.

I might also mention it isn't often you get the opportunity to get in on something this ground breaking, at a price that is next to nothing.

So what are the odds? Hard to say exactly, but if you lose your entire investment it won't likely make a difference in your lifestyle.

If SDC does what most of us expect it will, the difference could be huge.

Blazin8888 should be banned from this thread. The guy comes in here and posts FUD every time there is a rise in the SDC marketcap, then once he is satisfied with his position he apologies to the SDC community for his actions.. He's done it numerous times over the last year + in this thread (search his history). How can someone who hasn't created anything but FUD in his life criticize anyone that is a creator?

Bottom line: You're a pathetic maggot Blazin8888 and nobody gives a shit about your $50 investment in Syscoin or two fucks about Syscoin for that matter. Syscoin holds no significant advantage over using Bitcoin and Open Bazaar, despite the cute graphics they've made. The bottom line for both is transparent and traceable transactions. Again, why would anyone use it? There's no reason to move commerce from Bitcoin to Syscoin or any other non-privacy coin. 5 years from now Syscoin will still be irrelevant like the other shitcoins people have put their life savings into.

Shadow on the other hand is striving for an end to end privacy solution. The pending update is a major evolution towards a real privacy ecosystem. Most people who end up getting the long 8===D from LE is through social engineering on forums, reddit account seizures and market compromises. I would go so far to say that the attack vector for communication is just as important as its transaction counterpart.

The SDC devs are smart. They're solving transactions (Shadow), communications (Shadowchat) and soon the commerce (Market) issues one step at a time. Out of all of these coins listed on these forums and exchanges, none other than Bitcoin has real commerce that's why it trades in the $100s of dollars. Every other coin is just speculation and pump fodder for trading cartels that have bleed the altcoin scene dry with their bullshitcoins. Shadow is the only project that presents a valid a product-market-fit for the existing crypto commerce, not some speculative market that hasn't even been introduced to crypto yet. Investing in anything other than Shadow and Bitcoin in crypto is just a gamble.

If the race for the decentralized silk road in 'on' then Shadow is already laps ahead of the competition.
