Thread Hijacked  Huh    Roll Eyes

People trying to make advertising on JD simple for potential customers and make a little CLAM to play with.

Can't knock them for trying!

I know a few of the design ppl have got a bit of work through this and their prices are extremely reasonable.

Your math is reallly bad...

1 clam = 0.00645 BTC not 0.012 BTC...

Sorry about that.

At the time we had two banners paying 1 CLAM per day each and one banner paying 2 CLAMs per day.

I couldn't decide whether to say people were paying 1 CLAM or 2 CLAMs per day - it looks like I said "1 CLAM" but converted "2 CLAMs" into BTC, so got a number around twice the actual price being paid.

There's two ad spots.  For both, it would be .012

No, there's a single funding pool. Each spot's content is picked randomly based on how funded each ad is. It's possible to pay just 1 CLAM per day and get your ad shown in both spots if you're lucky. Or if you ad is the only one that is currently funded.

Typing "/ad list" in the Just-Dice chat tab will show how much each ad is paying per day at the moment.

The Just-Dice ad space is for sale again.

See question 7 in the FAQ at Just-Dice.com:

Ad space is shared in proportion to the amount people pay.

Currently people are paying 1 CLAM per day to get their ads shown - that's a little over 0.012 BTC per day.

1 CLAM = 0.012+ BTC now ? That's awesome. You have played a pivotal role in valuating this coin Smiley

Thanks everyone for your interest, but I've decided to stop auctioning ad space.

I'm going to give it to a worthy cause instead.

Woah woah woah. Can you give us some stats of your traffic level as well as your demographic?  Some Google Analytics info maybe? Otherwise it's hard to discern how much the ad real estate is worth.

I +1 this. At current BTC price ~$250 USD for a week's ad spot is quite a lot. I can easily get clicks from Google for $0.05 each which would give me around 5,000 visitors

I don't run any kind of analytics on the site, but do log connecting IP addresses.

It has been pretty stable at ~1700 unique IP addresses per day.  Here are the actual numbers:

   1778 2013-10-06
   1932 2013-10-07
   1993 2013-10-08
   1821 2013-10-09
   1942 2013-10-10
   1836 2013-10-11
   1761 2013-10-12
   1624 2013-10-13
   1855 2013-10-14
   1751 2013-10-15
   1696 2013-10-16
   1646 2013-10-17
   1587 2013-10-18
   1523 2013-10-19
   1536 2013-10-20
   1736 2013-10-21
   1773 2013-10-22
   1793 2013-10-23

We keep getting the same sites competing for and winning the weekly auction, so I guess they're happy with the price for the amount of traffic the ads bring.

Thanks for the update!! We opened a new section on our site to post ads for bidding if you're interested, might make life easier for you. check it in my signature :-)
It's also easier to manage the time frame and the bidding amounts. Users will then only have to email you the ad and you can re-list the auction with 2 clicks.

doog, how much time is left?

The auction runs from midnight Sunday UTC to midnight Sunday UTC every week.  UTC time is: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=1440

Last week's was won by aksplace.  We had discussed privately beforehand whether I would accept his bids and came to the agreement that I'd link to his 'review' site if he gave at least equal coverage to JD (an A+ site according to his reviews) as to the other sites with lower ratings.  He agreed, went on to win the auction, but didn't change the site.

His /dice/ page, linked from the front page with the text "bitcoin dice" doesn't even mention JD, but is instead a pretty blatant paid ad for PrimeDice and the betcoin network.

I'm not willing to link to his site as it currently stands, so I've offered him a full refund and taken down his ad.
