We just don't know what will happen in the future since no one can predict it. I only hold alts that have a working product and maybe this choice of mine will be justified once crypto markets went bullish again. Also, it is highly unlikely that no alt season will ever arrive, and if its true, then there is no point in developing blockchain  innovations needed by most industries in order to grow right now.

I think you misunderstood me. By "alt season" I mean a big market boom like 2017. I don't think that's gonna happen. There are so many worthless coins and tokens, and smart people with money have hopefully learned the lesson so I doubt there will be trillions of dollars available to lift the whole market.

But innovation can still happen. Some coins will do well. Except 99% of us have no chance of guessing which ones. Even if they have a working product - usually there is like 3 or 4 or 15 competitors. So whatever bags you're holding - they're not going "bullish".
I supported what you said on the OP but the ideal business strategy was not to put all your eggs in one basket which was a smart investor decision in other not to make total lost. There's a lot of shitcoin and there's a lot potential altcoin which have the capacity to take over once total Bitcoin is mine.
Have ever thought that things may change once the total 21millions Bitcoin are mine?

Now it makes no sense to sell your tokens at such low prices, maybe with the next bitcoin pump some of the tokens will also be pumped. They had to be sold in January 2018.
selling now only to people who intend to secure their money despite losses and then leave the crypto market. those who don't believe in crypto will do that. but for those who still believe, they will have confidence that the market will strengthen again. everyone who survives will wait for it.

I agree that almost 80% of the entire cryptocurrency in the cryptocurrency market is a waste of money.  After a certain time, each user will be convinced of this.  A good idea is to get rid of such cryptocurrencies, and buy the highest rated and most sought after coins.  But there is only one problem, which is who will buy this cryptocurrency if everyone wants to get rid of these bad coins.

Some truth are already known and established, except we feel like deceiving ourselves. Most altcoins in the crypto space are meant to be traded in order to accumulate more established coins, such as BTC, ETH and others, but when trees sets in, instead of gaining, it might be the order way round, losing. Which make me to always conclude that just very few altcoins will last long.

The altcoin craze strated during 2017 when almost all the coins were pumping and that time many altcoins gave returns of more than 10x which made many people instantly rich. People are still investing in altcoins with that in the focus. But people tend to forget that many coins which started during that time are dead by now. IMHO altcoins are good for quick gains and profits but aren't safe for long term hodl. With Bitcoin dominance increasing day by day, altcoins aren't that lucrative as an investment. Volume has majorly shifted towards bitcoin.

There is no point in selling altcoins when their value went down over 95 percent and we could do nothin about it but hope for the best and pray for the next alt season to come! Well, I can say its totally normal to have frustrations but I guess most of the crypto community  believe on these two famous expressions that says "hope springs eternal" and "it aint over till it over!"  Smiley

It's better to get 5% out of it than 4% or 2% or 0. There isn't going to be "alt season" for all current garbage that's out there. Some alts may rise but you don't know which. Likely some new promising tech that may not even exist today. The only known fact is that BTC will still be there.

if you sell tokens that you have in this condition the price is still very cheap, it will only make your nominal funds decrease, when trading you should use money that is not too used so you are not too afraid when prices fall like now.
never sell it your frustation maybe worst when time comes for crpyto

I don't think that it is a good idea .
There are shit coins yes but not all of the alt coins are worthless and would end up being dump.
You have been in crypto for a long time now and you should also know that there are some alts that have some potential to grow.
The problem about the new traders is that they would only buy whats on trend or whats hot without knowing the background of the alt coin that they are buying.
Most of them are just picking up randomly and hoping for the price to go up.

I have lots of shitcoins that never get listed on exchanges but also have some that are on exchanges but with very low price, so i have no choice but to hold until the bullrun comes because i believe even shitcoins in bullrun gets pump.

Those who have already bought shitcoins do not have a choice but to hold.

What frustration are you talking about? those who buy at all time high will have no choice but to hold

We do have a choice, that's what this thread is about. Choose to accept that altcoins and tokens are almost all garbage, and that holding them is a loser's game. Choose to sell it now and if you're still willing to gamble in a year or two... you can buy them back at half the price.

Maybe a picture will help to understand this better. This is what you're betting on by holding altcoins:

And if you take liquidity into account it's actually much worse.

is this despair? this is bad for someone who might have been in the crypto market for a long time and has already benefited a lot from crypto. if you are new to this market, of course, you will be frustrated waiting for the moment that your assets have returned your capital.
but for a pro trader and investor, they will not give up and take advantage of every small opportunity in the market. those who study can get greater opportunities.

Are you talking about me? I'm not in despair. I sold my altcoins about halfway down that chart. Should have done it sooner but I'm not complaining. That was my opportunity and I took it and I'm now in a far better position than if I was holding.

I agree that it's better to sell altcoins these days rather than holding them for a long time because most of them lost their value. Unlike potential coins, new altcoins these days aren't that reliable. Some of the altcoins that I'm holding also turned out as shitcoins which I thought could soar high when the market recovers. It's true that we must not give up on holding but some altcoins are really frustrating.

In any case, I believe in the future of cryptocurrencies, but I must admit that almost 80 percent of all coins in the cryptocurrency market will die after a certain time.  Many projects do not have a real product and today they cannot offer cryptocurrency users or humanity, and the value of certain coins is heated only by speculators in the market.  Based on this, I believe that in any case, you need to get rid of unnecessary coins, which is the main task, since it will be very difficult to choose something promising from the total number in your portfolio.

yes indeed we cannot call them all valuable, most of them are just rubbish and are used to make profit in trade.
but if it's for daily profit, I think altcoin can provide the best choice.
and also we can't call them all rubbish because there really is altcoin to be useful, and really utilizing blockchain technology, even though it's only 2 out of 100.Because technology will continue to innovate, and will continue to develop, so there must be some altcoin that follows the btc.

Cryptocurrencies are like any other assets traded at the Wall Street Market, people there  make money from these trades others lose it all...same thing applies here so if you in it to make money then buckle up and enjoy the ride , otherwise leave the crypto market while you still can if you not ready to risk a little.
In other words, we have to accept all the risks, if you are afraid of loss, then leave, if it is still strong, accept the risk, hold on.
The decision to hold or sell assets depends on each person. If it still exceeds BEP then it's okay to hold it back I think if it's worrying then sell. It's that simple but requires a deep and mental analysis that is strong. We do not force the will, everyone has their individual considerations.
