I don't think to immediately sell all the altcoins that I have, at least only a few that I think are not worth keeping, so sell immediately.

Sometime before ETH turned $3, I happen to buy some about 7k of it, if I just wait for the breakout at $7, I could have more money to spend on every ICO in 2017. I'd be waiting for more years from now on before selling the tokens I own. I'm pretty sure I can wait this time, I shall feel the frustration today but will later not.

The right project becomes really profitable. Hundreds of cryptocurrencies in the latest bull have earned good money for those who own it.

It actually depends on what are you holding.

The cryptocurrency market is too young, now it has problems, but everything will change, I believe.

many better options are still yet to come

I think we will see more price increases. We just started. First we wait for the rise of Bitcoin and then many other projects. Of course, we don't think they can all go to the moon. But new and beautiful ideas are waiting for development. These will support the growth of the market when the time comes.

WHAT IF, the alt season came? Then, this prediction of yours would be nothing.

Sell your shitcoins today. Use the proceeds to buy Bitcoin and solid altcoins.

i am sticking with altcoin no matter what, all i need is solid altcoins that have real use case and i will be fine,thanks for the advice anyways

Investors just cannot wipe out their alt portfolio for another coin if they are already in a loss.
Some peoples may already have a huge loss and they maybe don't have an option to think to exit and reinvest in a new coin, except to hodl for a fortune or for a minimum loss which they may digest.

Most of the above is just a variation of gambler's fallacy or some other unfounded beliefs that somehow all this is going to fix itself. I'm surprised that no one mentioned 10000 BTC pizza yet.

Now grab your calculators and tell me how much more money you would have today if you had exchanged your altcoins into Bitcoin in early 2018? Or really at any point since then. I bet it's a lot. And yes, some altcoins, perhaps 1 out of 100 or 1 out of 1000, may eventually become profitable but the thing is - you don't know which one it's going to be (so it's a gamble) and if you diversify you're gonna lose a lot more than you're gonna win from that rare good coin.

This is not like diversification in the stock market, where you're choosing a basket of generally well-performing stocks and trying to insure yourself from an occasional dud or some unforeseen risks. In the altcoin market you're diversifying among garbage that may or may not have a golden nugget in it. If the cryptomarket is going to recover to (and beyond) its ATH then you can be certain that BTC will be at the top of it. You can't be certain which, if any, altcoins will be there. Do the certain thing. Sell alts and tokens.

Some altcoins will do very well and I don't think all alts will dump just because they're altcoins. Two years ago, altcoins were exciting precisely because they weren't like bitcoin, in the eyes of optimistic investors, they represented the limitless potential of blockchain technology, which was going to revolutionize everything. Now we've seen that not all applications of blockchain technology make sense ,and even the ones that are viable will take longer to reach true adoption than people originally thought. People are now more cynical, and less certain, about the success of projects just because they're blockchain. They've had their eyes opened to all the uncertainties. The result is that altcoins are now seen as a sort of lottery ticket, maybe you pick the right one but the odds are against you.

You know how this is going to end. You might be trying to lie to yourself, you might be secretly hoping that some token in your "portfolio" that you have 10 million of is going to moon to $50 and make you rich, but let's be real: that is not going to happen. Even the allegedly strong altcoins like LTC or ETH or whatever is cool these days (I've been out of this game for a while) are not doing well and BTC dominance is growing. Which makes sense if you think about it. BTC can do most of what any altcoin can do and the few really useful features that BTC is missing (private transactions for example) are implemented by multiple altcoins, fragmenting their market share.

And the elephant in the room: 99% of altcoins are total garbage. They're called shitcoins for a reason.

Sell your altcoins and tokens. Take the proceeds in BTC, stick it into a cold wallet, keep some online to play around with Lightning and other things that actually matter for real-life stuff, like being able to buy something. When was the last time you were able to use for example Ethereum for something tangible, not to buy some garbage tokens or to play a game?

Do it today. Your grandkids will thank you.
Instead of advising people to go with diversification you are telling them to sell their altcoins for bitcoin, are you a great seer? somekind of a messiah? i guess not, mind you i will remember your advice today and keep your post safe for the future and when altcoins start surging i will be the first one to remind you

@OP

It's easy to say but hard to take the decision.

2019 is the year for alts to bleed and last year it was for bitcoin - the thing we need is a concrete market for both bitcoin and altcoins (the best ones).
Shitcoins need to vanish and this can only possible by educating investors to choose the right coins. Imo, 2019 has given us the opportunity to figure out the shitcoins; coins that are survived are the best coins.

I think you've lost alot to altcoin investment and now you are angry and been controlled by your emotions, you need to safe yourself the frustration and try to understand that risks are meant to be taken only by those who aren't scared of what to come, i am sticking with altcoin no matter what, all i need is solid altcoins that have real use case and i will be fine,thanks for the advice anyways

Sell your shitcoins today. Use the proceeds to buy Bitcoin and solid altcoins. There is really no need to all out on Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the best coin to buy of course but it will also fall sometimes. It is better to diversify your cryptocurrency portfolio. Of course you will not diversify it with shitcoins. Altcoins are mostly made up of shitcoins but there are some that are not. Ethereum comes to mind. No question about it.

You can't just say what will go to happen in the future. You don't know what the future holds. You are just driven by your emotion because of a probable lost in the past when the market is something like this. If you want to save yourself from your so called frustration, then go save yourselves. WHAT IF, the alt season came? Then, this prediction of yours would be nothing.

This is a logical conclusion, many people will agree with you, but not me. I will not stop believing in altcoins. Bitcoin is the basis of cryptocurrencies, Ethereum is the king of altcoins, but this is not enough. The cryptocurrency market is too young, now it has problems, but everything will change, I believe.

And in particular, I believe that the Ethereum may become very high in the future, even if it is not yet ready.

This is your own decision and not going to work on many people especially altcoin lovers, the real fact is bitcoin and crypto is still very young and bitcoin can't do it alone, many better options are still yet to come and if you think its will be bitcoin forever you are only kidding yourself

It actually depends on what are you holding. Before, whenever I receive my bounty reward, I hold them longer than I should've to the point that the value goes almost 200% less than the amount if I sell them when I received my bounty. There are decent altcoins that are worth holding, but do not hold new altcoins that long since it is risky.

I agree with you on some issues. We agree on the future of Bitcoin. But I disagree with the idea of buying all the subcoins. The right project becomes really profitable. Hundreds of cryptocurrencies in the latest bull have earned good money for those who own it. We can't ignore that. But since the last bull, more than 1000 projects have surpassed ICO. Not all of them can gain value. Someone will loose, some of them will earn.

that's not a bad idea, but the problem is that the tokens that I have are not yet listed on the exchange, even though some of the tokens that I have are generated from good projects. then how to sell it? In this case waiting for the altcoin season is very boring, especially for altcoin holders, but I don't think to immediately sell all the altcoins that I have, at least only a few that I think are not worth keeping, so sell immediately.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
We can't pin point which is going to only stay here for long time which gives the hop for every altcoins holder that their altcoins will also be in long run so they are responsible for their decision and we can't do anything about it.I also second your opinion of sell your altcoin but for bitcoin.

After this I got one question,will crypto market able to stay alive without altcoins?
