I like ethereum and I really believe to it's potential but I will not going to sell all my bitcoin to ethereum because It's better to have both this coin. They have different possibility value in the future and they are both potential coin the top 1 and top 2. If bull run continue both this coin will gong to increase and you may know that you will earn money what ever you have between the two but having both is more profit you will get.

I was laughing when I read the news when I saw that many large hedge funds were selling their bitcoins, so what does this mean? Some people have already started to profit from this market and they are expecting the bull run to end soon and they are looking towards a stronger wave than the alt season. I'm not sure if you look at the current situation, the whole market is back up again, so don't rush anything you think you bought at a good price, hold on to it and waiting for the target.

I have heard that some high net worth individuals are unloading all their BTC for ETH.

Reason Being is ETH tends to outperform BTC in Returns in Bull Runs for example in 2017 and 2020. And with ETH recently making a new ATH in USD feels very bullish and looks it may do the same on ETH/BTC pair.

However after the the run or when they feel the top is in they will return the Ethereum back into BTC and hodl.

Do you think its a good idea to hold more ETH than BTC rn?

in my opinion ethereum has more potential to grow more than bitcoin in this year
but, i think if somebody want to sell all his bitcoin, he will not only buying ethereum, but he must split his capital to other altcoins too
such as polkadot or chainlink

Why follow someone else? Big company that invest in crypto usually put big portion of their allocated money for crypto to bitcoin and the rest to various alts like ETH. That means those big company which usually consist of expert doesn't really trust ETH other than for diversifying their portfolio so that they don't put all money in the same coin.

Honestly sounds kinda reckless to convert it all but it's your money and it's your decision to follow that high net worth individual or safely diversify your portfolio.

hold more ethereum is a good idea, but sell all bitcoin for ethereum isn't a good idea my friend
because to reduce the risk of our investments, we should hold at least three cryptocurrency

Sounds like a bold move.

Eth always seems congested and out of control.

Will it trade in 1 for 1 on eth2 or whatever? or will it be legacy?

Depends on your thoughts and belief for the both crypto. You hold it at the same time and you'll no longer asking this question. But what I do is to hold both of it and I keep BTC foremost.
I don't intend to sacrifice my bitcoin holdings to buy ETH but instead, I'll take some of my cash and use it for buying it.
Total Agree

so keep your btc and use some from bitcoin profit to buy eth, and yes usually after bitcoin bull a year after Halving there's alt season with altcoin price pumped
That's not what I'm saying but if you do that, it's also fine that you use your profits to buy Ethereum. But that's no different from converting your BTC into ETH.
But whichever is light, easy and acceptable to you, you should be the captain of your own portfolio.

I also think like some: Hold my bitcoin for a long time and I have considered having ethereum for my basic needs for the short and medium term.

One thing is well known whenever bitcoin hits a new ATH the altcoins look bullish.
Without bitcoin the market is hostile, we often find thoughts such as that money is in bitcoin in the wrong way.

I think that not on the contrary we should focus on bitcoin and demand the best developments for bitcoin users and so it would be easy to use for everyone.

Your question or conjecture is more to the idea of the trader, rather than to discuss about bitcoin in the possession of a because, I think that the discussion at least in this section have as an idea for the discussion.

In that sense, I can tell you that no, it is not "the idea" for those of us who see bitcoin beyond just seeing a worth, in the long run for those of us who are not large holders of bitcoin, we should not be worrying so much in the short term of this type stocks, at least not if we take bitcoin as a topic of discussion to make a social and economic difference.

I think the idea would be to always have bitcoin and pass all types of currency to bitcoin, the investment in any other currency if that could go to ETH  and take advantage of the current performance for example and then switch to bitcoin.

Do not get nervous with sudden falls in the price of bitcoin and try to find the wrong havens in other Alts, do not worry if you have little bitcoin/sat you must worry about getting the accounts corrects and understanding that how little or much you have of bitcoin is your greatest refuge for the future, do not be afraid.

I knew that if any altcoin manages to pump somewhat independently of Bitcoin and at the same time won't lose 80% of value at random it's going to be ETH, so I bought it 2 years ago when it was still cheap and still have it now.

Of course I wouldn't sell my BTC for ETH. I believe in ETH but I believe in BTC more. Dumping bitcoin to catch a possible pump on some altcoin, even if it's the best altcoin out there would be very risky.

If you want to be safe stay with Bitcoin. It's going to offer you steady gains and safe haven from inflation. Is that not enough? Keep moving coins around and jumping between stablecoins and random shitcoins and you'll only lose money.

Selling all btc for ethereum in my opinion is not a bad way considering that the ethereum price hikes have brought a lot of profit for traders. But when these two assets have the same potential profit, then I don't think that's the best way to sell them. Your current 1 bitcoin might be equivalent to 26.42 ETH when you sold it. It is not impossible that when you sell ETH you will no longer get 1 bitcoin because the price is not the same.

If you really want to do that, I think you can still sell some of the bitcoins you have to buy Ethereum because these two assets are also pretty good to have in your current portfolio. But remember, everyone here is just telling you and giving a little bit of their opinion on the question you asked. You should be able to make your own choices because both profits and losses are a consequence of the crypto trading activity that you have to accept.

Sounds kinda risky.

Yes, we have witnessed this in 2017 as well as if we calculate the returns this bullrun it's ETH which has outperformed BTC. But unfortunately, this moment is not the right time to experiment with funds wherein uncertainty is looming over the crypto market from past 2 weeks, eventhough we have seen some positive signals today but still we are going through a crucial situation that will either lead to further pump or bear market.

Depending on yourself and the period of your strategy you can chose toy sell bitcoin for ETH or any coin you want. Usually, ETH rise when the BTC rise and falls whenever BTC falls they actually move together with different tolerance. If you ask me I would say I'm holding all by bitcoins during the bull run, no matter what's going on, because I have a long term plan and not gonna sell bitcoins for a cheap price even for ETH or any other asset. However, you an chose you divide your money between different coins at this moment.

It depends on how you see the possible movement of the market in the future. We have different instinct and speculations and we could rely our decisions on what we feel. I have actually sold my Btc when the price reached 40k and bought Eth from my profit. Both BTC and ETH are actually worth holding but things will depend on our investing strategy.

You have to have strong belief in ETH then, just because BTC is falling doesn't mean you'd have to sell everything and shift to Ethereum, remember, the next bull run can happen in the next month or even in the next week, we'll never know when, and we can't 100% trust our data because of how volatile Bitcoin is, although, ETH is also good and reliable, but to compare it with Bitcoin, I just don't think it's a good idea switching to ETH, but who knows, ETH might have a successful bull run.
You are right about the incomparable BTC and ETH. BTC and ETH have different platforms and have their respective advantages. Holding both is a good option, instead of having to sell all of the BTC for ETH.
We know these two coins have technology that is being developed. After Halving, BTC was able to reach a new ATH which is really amazing and also ETH was able to reach a new ATH when ETH 2.0 was released.

Save both and you will get more profit.

Do you think its a good idea to hold more ETH than BTC rn?
I'd better still hold more on BTC than ETH. I'd never see ETH outperform BTC at this time. May some investors are selling their Bitcoin and switch to ETH but I don't think that they are into selling all of their holdings. Having 60% BTC and 40% ETH on my portfolio, I'll be making a good decision (maybe).

Bitcoin will never have a huge fall even Ethereum price will soar high. That is what I take and I know for sure that many people still holding Bitcoin than those who lose their hands holding it. Well, ETH is profitable, they are still doing for good and that is their decision.

I don't think that's a good idea... Better to hold BTC than ETH... ETF futures trading will soon be open on ETH, and we all remember very well what happened to BTC after ETF...
