Many posts discuss the possibility of exchange earnings with selling Bitcoin (and buy later). Other posts discuss the Bitcoin exchange rate, it seems that many agree there is a strong upward tendency and the volatility is hard to predict. It seems dat selling Bitcoin results in a serious probability of an opportunity loss. Selling Bitcoin can only be motivated by an (partial) exit. Do you agree?

I think so too, most people who sell their bitcoin is just a temporary exit, most buy back once the price goes dip or when the market starts it's bull run. Most people believe in the capability of bitcoin, since it is a good innovation which had brought convenience to everyone.

Selling bitcoin during the growing trend is a huge opportunity loss. However,  there's more than one right thing so it would be wrong to say for certain.
It depends on the situation. If you are going to hold bitcoin even when it has reached your target but since greed has overpowered your senses, you are going to lose in this case because it takes a second to enter dip for virtual coins.

Similarly selling off when the market or bitcoin is facing harsh dump is the worst thing that you could veer do to yourself and your money. Panic selling is the biggest mistake with bitcoin.
We all have different perceptions and strategies in our life, so if we found out that this is the right time to sell bitcoin because we have seen opportunity on it. Selling bitcoin does not mean that you loss but because you found out an opportunity and you need the fund for you to invest in some other things and maximize it.
As long as we sell bitcoin at a price that gives us a reasonable profit, that will not be an opportunity loss, the chance of loss is when we sell the bitcoin at a price that we are not satisfied, at a price lower than the price we bought. So what exactly can be said here just that we sell bitcoin is a regret, because we were selling Bitcoin too soon or too late, although we profit but we have overlooked a bigger profit, however, this is the market, we can not know the future, so we should become familiar with regret

In investing bitcoin, you need a good strategy. It is a loss if you sell bitcoin in a low value, but if it reached its high value and you gained a big profit then it is probably an opportunity.

It depends on the situation, if you sell your bitcoin for the emergency payment you cannot call it an opportunity loss because you save the life of your family. No one can predict the price of the bitcoin because of his characteristic of being volatile. For me no need to hold my bitcoin because I use it in my daily life.

I don't think so as bitcoin has rosed so much and has not too much space to fly. U could sell bitcoin to buy some coins else like CMT.
I just talk one advantage of CMT blockchain. Once u lost ur funds in the Ethereum, that means u lost ur money forever. But in the CMT, u could refund the lost transparently.

selling bitcoin is automatically an opportunity loss, what ever happened do not sell your bitcoin because in the near future, bitcoin will go to the moon and we must also wait for bitcoin`s possibilities.
In my opinion, after G20 meeting. Bitcoin will tend to be stable and will not reach its peak. Because there will be a lot of government interference in this regarding the tax and regulations. So, in this time it will not be any better.

Its really a big mistake, yes probably your money will lose because the prices is on dump called as a panic selling. Instead of panic selling your bitcoin you can buy more cheaper coins and wait the prices goes up.

the assumption that selling is an opportunity loss is not a very accurate one coz we cant cant expect the bitcoin prices to continuously go up, with the crypro market so volatile and unpredicatable, anything can happen, and sometimes selling might just be the best decision.

Trading is a game of strategy ,just because you sell your btc earlier it means that it is an opportunity loss. You can't earn if you can't sell it. In selling just always make sure you still earn, don't get too greedy and always study the strategy in trading.

In my opinion, the opportunity loss if you sell all your coins and you never returned to gain some of bitcoin. dont stop to earn bitcoin so that the opportunity won't loss. bitcoin can give you infinite earnings and try to saved some of your bitcoin. we all know many of us sell some bitcoin its our choice but you need to save some so that if the price increase you benefit to it. you will not loss the opportunity to earn.

The crypto market is currently up and down, so at the moment Bitcoin and other coins may be down for fake news, but in the near future it will reverse its position, no doubt here. And if you are going to sell it at this time it would be a stupid job if you sell bitcoin based on current market conditions.
Up and down is always there in crypto market and mostly because of the increasing and decreasing demand of bitcoin, in current time although bitcoin is trading above 9000$ but still i think that bitcoin price is still very low and in future its price will start increasing therefore i think that holding bitcoin is best option in current time.

You are assuming that the price will continue to rise. That is not guaranteed, so selling is not necessarily lost opportunity.

Selling may be the way to maximize your return, but it depends on the risk of holding.
Exactly! Selling BTC is not necessary thing! But as I understood, topic starter spoke about an opportunity to open short positions on crypto exchanges. I am not sure if this option is available...

I think at the current levels, if you want sure shot profit, do not sell before 6 months. The longer you hold, more will be your returns.
Most people have developed a system where they buy low and sell high and the whole continues again and again and they make profits with that system although it is not enough compared to what people who hold for a long period make.

I partially agree. As we all know, bitcoin's value is volatile and selling some of it can make you loose some opportunity as the value rises more, but on the other hand, there is also a possibility that the value will fall which will lead you to a great decision making for some reasons. In selling your bitcoin, you need to be smart and wise before making an action to prevent further disappointments.

all return to the trust of all people, of course we sell and buy according to our own ability and will, if we sell with a delicious taste of price with us, why we have to hold it .. though not how profits, the important still get results.
Target is very important, we all want to see the price to go up but without specific target it will only make us greedy.
Actually not good for us if we think like this since the market is unpredictable, like now, if we were not able to sell when the pump happened
last year so we are in regret right now.
it is unequivocal Whether there is today to sell Bitcoin, then this is a real loss, especially if you remember those prices for Bitcoin that were still a few months ago. I'm dreaming about the price of 20,000 dollars for 1 Bitcoin, so far I can not help it.

You loose the opportunity if you sell your bitcoin in a low price but if you sell your bitcoin in a highest price its a good opportunity to gain more profit. In my case I'm not holding my bitcoin and i sell it even in a low price because I need money to spend my daily expenses to support the daily needs of my family.
