I am having problems connecting to my S1 i have configured the static IP on my laptop but i get to this part. For the DNS Setting: Select “Obtain DNS server address automatically" I don't have that option and i also cant find my miner with the advanced ip scanner program. Is there a specific DNS address i should enter?
I have purchased this PSU for use with an S1 I bought from ebay , is it possible to use it?

I tried to update the firmware to my S1, I followed the instructid I wait almost 5 or 6 minuter before turn off and on the S1, but now i can't comunicate with it througth Ethernet, s in the ethernet conector just blink the green ligth.
I reset the S1 and nothin happen.
Can you help me with this problem.

You may have nuked your controller, you can read this thread for the recovery procedure, just use the S1 firmware instead of the S3. You may have to spam "tpl" instead of "p" in order to interrupt the boot process to get into uboot, but otherwise it should be about the same. I got a S1, can not get to the Miner Login screen from the Browser. I have a windows 7 machine, hooked the S1 right to the Network Port on the Computer. Went to "Internet Protocol Version 4" and put in IP Address: 192.168.2.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1. Went to the Browser and put in the S1's IP but it will not connect??? How do I get it to the miner login? 
Since you said you connected a cable direct miner to PC, you need a crossover cable for them to be able to talk to each other. Or run with a switch/router in between. Problem is that the Tx and Rx wires need to be switched so one is sending to the others receiving wires.

I have not been able to get cgminer-ants1-4.2.* thru cgminer-ants1-4.9.1c-e6ad32a to work on my S1. The cgminer 4.7.1 version on nicehash's web site works fine. All I should need to do is copy the cgminer binary executable to /usr/bin/ on the S1, give it permissions and start it . . . right?
It looks like they start, but never connect to my pools. Rebooting or power cycle doesn’t help. What am I missing? Like I said nicehash's 4.7.1 version works.

Depends on the version, the S1 could have the IP of 192.168.1.99 and the default gateway of 192.168.1.1 with netmask of 255.255.255.0

I got a S1, can not get to the Miner Login screen from the Browser. I have a windows 7 machine, hooked the S1 right to the Network Port on the Computer. Went to "Internet Protocol Version 4" and put in IP Address: 192.168.2.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1. Went to the Browser and put in the S1's IP but it will not connect??? How do I get it to the miner login?

I've tested it on my pool https://kano.is/ and also on p2pool (fired up my home one for a while for testing)

Please check the System Log and see if you don't have anything saying "NTPD"
Hello all, I've got my antminer s1 set up with a 700 watt server power supply. It powers up and appears to run fine. I've got my pool info set up in the miner configuration tab.
The problem is on the miner status tab, it's not showing any figures, just says 'no information to display yet' or something. Also, on my mining pool dashboard, I can see my little 2 ghs usb miner which is working fine, and a couple of times upon powering up the antminer, I'm seeing a spike in my hashrate, indicating that the antminer is connecting to the pool momentarily, just long enough to spike my hashrate way up. This tells me I obviously have my pool info set up correctly in the antminer control panel.
Any ideas why it might be doing this, and how to tell if it's disconnecting from the pool, or just ceasing to hash? Kind of a noob here. Ok, MAJOR noob.

I greatly appreciate help on this subject. I've been up two nights trying to figure out my life. I have one S3 up and mining via slush pool. I have two more s3's on me and I'm working to try and setup the first of those two. Both of these s3's have been hard reset(probably not the right idea here)by me due to other networking issues I've now worked through. Ive changed to DHCP.... updated the most up to date frimware for the s3 from bitmain, I've verified my slush pool link, and re-re-re-verified this worker and password. I no longer have the red error message on my miner configuration page.... but I'm not clocking shit under my miner status either....... Help would be muchhhhhh appreciated. And if your in colorado drinks+ on me

Pencilmoded Antminer S1 if connected to power meter or in the timer switch in 80% of the time it will show lots of xxxx on ASIC chips.
If connected directly to power source all ASICS will be fully working.
Tested with few S1 as well as few power supplies (high quality server power supplies).
Didn't try without pencil mod, maybe it works fine...

put a surge bar between the timer and the PSU - it should offer a small amount of capacitance to prevent ripple (if the timer is causing that sort of issue)
