You don't have to have ntp enabled in order for it to hash, just deselect the option and save and apply. I then suggest switching the ant off and on again so it boots up from scratch and that should take care of the problem...

Sometimes saving doesn't work very well and you need to click save and then click on the red text in the top right which brings you to a screen listing the changes... then click save and apply.

Edit: if it hangs on updating cgminer, you can wait for a minute and switch it off and on and the setting should be saved... I suggest switching ntp off first.

He will still need to SSH to it.
And depending on his Ant version there is a slight difference (from v1.4 to v1.5).

If you need help with SSH to disable NTP just let me know Smiley

Thanks for the replies, I've disabled NTP in System Tab and rebooted but still the same error.
Sometimes it has the gcminer error at the end, sometimes multiple of the same cgminer errors, sometimes just the daemon...error.
I will need help with SSH, I don't know it at all.
Thanks again

Hi Nick, did you upgrade the firmware?  I think upgrading the firmware fixes it.

Upgrade the firmware on the Antminer S1

I think I have a troublesome unit. It says it is 42 degrees and the fan is running slow but it is running physically quite hot.  It is better now that I added a second fan but it makes me think the temp sensor is out of calibration and tricking it into running the fan slower.

My other unit is physically cooler with a higher fan rate but reports similar temps.
Anyone else seen this?

Hi i am new to antminer S1 and i cannot connect my browser to 192.168.1.99 which is my antminer ip

i try to change the TCP/IPV4 to

ip address : 192.168.1.188  <--- change this to 192.168.2.188
subnet : 255.255.255.0
default gateway : 192.168.1.1  <--- change this to 192.168.2.1

prefered DNS : 8.8.8.8
alternative dns : blank

and also try the default antminer tutorial

IP Address: 192.168.2.254
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1

Both also no luck can anyone please help me thank you

Then open your favorite browser and browse to: 192.168.2.254

Considering of course that your ant came with a sticker saying that the address is 192.168.2.254

If not post your Ant's sticker (IP) details here.

Did you connect the Antminer to your laptop/PC directly?  If so, you had to disconnect your PC/laptop from your network router/switch, unless you have a 2nd card?  If this is the case, you need the laptop to be 192.168.1.100 so you can connect to the web page of the Antminer   http://192.168.1.99  then you can follow the guide to change it to 192.168.0.188 and other settings so it can be connected to your router/switch.

Sorry i am kinda noob here

The Antiner Sticker is 192.168.1.99

But my internet default gateway is 192.168.0.1

so if i change the default gateway

i try to change the TCP/IPV4 to

ip address : 192.168.1.188
subnet : 255.255.255.0
default gateway : 192.168.1.1

i lost my internet connection and yes the miner is directly connect to my router with antenna

it has  port and the ant miner is connected to the last port

That's good.  You will lose connection to the internet on the PC that you change the IP settings on (this is temporary), but it will bring you to the same subnet(work) as the Antminer, and you'll be able to change the Antminer S1 to your home subnet(work).

When your PC/laptop is 192.168.1.100 connect to the Antminer and change it to:

192.168.0.188    IP address
255.255.255.0    subnet mask
192.168.0.1        IP default gateway (assuming this is your network router address)
192.168.0.255    broadcast address
8.8.8.8               DNS custom address

Make sure you save and apply and wait until it is applied successfully.  you should lose connection from the PC until you change your PC back to your regular settings (either DHCP or 192.168.0.x)

You can now connect to the Antminer S1 on  192.168.0.188   and put your miner pool settings.

Good luck.

clear the IPV4 BROADCAST address - this is unnecessary in 95% of home networks

Thanks guys i finally able to excess the antminer pinging it and then refresh

but now i am facing another problem i have input the pool configuration username and password but the unit seems not hashing

from the miner status page all section appear " this section contain no value'

anyone please help ?

I got Satoshi's avatar!

there are 2 units that experiencing high HW errors (they are using the same firmware 20140207 and cgminer), what could be the problem?

the units hasnt been OCed, and regardless a brand new unit from bitmaintech, i found dusty heatsink which indicates its being mined for weeks before sent out.

Man, those are the best HW% I've seen yet.  Not even 1%.   You shouldn't worry about those numbers.
I'm not sure if I agree... with OC, less than 1% is good, but with standard 350Mhz my Ants were getting 0 HW errors... it was only once I Oc'd that they started to show up.

It does look like your temps are quite high for those fan speeds though... what's your ambient temp there?

Hello,
I'm having the same issue, getting:
 ....   daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: bad address '3.openwrt.pool.ntp.org'
....   daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: could not resolve peer 3.openwrt.pool.ntp.org, skipping
 ....   cron.info crond[576]: crond: USER root pid 856 cmd /usr/bin/cgminer-monitor
in my system log.

I've tried many NTP servers or disabling them and have been trying to sort through threads but no simple fixes.
I don't know anything about puddy or SSH and have been stuck here all day/night so any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Thanks,
-- Nick

That's going to be a difficult one to troubleshoot, as we don't know anything about your Mining pool, worker and password.  The only thing you have to make sure is that the Antminer has internet access, then the mining pool information can be changed to another pool server and account to eliminate that variable.

Are you able to ssh to the Antminer?   ping google.com  on the command line of the Antminer and make sure it resolves the name and pings it successfully.

Good luck.

Those error counts are completely normal in my opinion. All ASIC's are going to have hardware errors, it comes with the territory. Smiley

If you did in deed upgrade ok and verified the md5 checksum's, the next issue would be your network settings.
What are your router settings and range if using dhcp and what is your antminer set up to use

i follow youtube video step by step already. but

yes i do.

update version 20140207 but it,s not change when i check in kernal log

( i cannot checksum )

but complete proceed but not change

thanks

When you click on proceed, it should give out the message "The system is flashing now, Don't turn off".  This needs to complete, and you can't click on other tabs and when it finishes, it will reboot automatically.

Did you see those messages?  Don't click on other tabs while that is active.  It will need to complete the process and reboot the Antminer.  Whole process takes about 3-4 minutes.
