That woman looks hot!

I don't see why good-looking women should not use and contribute to Bitcoin as well. Personally I have no problem if they wear nice shoes, preferably high heels... Cheesy A women being a possible mating target, does not exclude that she is also intelligent. I never understood this feminist dogma (maybe the simple reason is that most feminists look below average).

Women interested in bitcoin will use Bitcoin. They need no invitation or special treatment to do that.

ya.ya.yo!
What does looks have to do with anything to use bitcoin or promote it?
If it did I believe the majority of us would be banned from using it as we all know most of us look like pale golem looking trolls that have nothing better to do then waste away in front of a computer talking about woman instead of talking to them.  Wink

Please don't jump to premature conclusions just by extrapolating the small convenience sample you have to the whole Bitcoin community. Personally I'm talking to women every single day and it's not the talking that I enjoy most in their company...

But having a little Bitcoin topic to talk about once in a while in between clearly doubles the fun. Cheesy

ya.ya.yo!

Talking to them at work does not count. Tongue They talk to you because they have too.  Undecided
Small convenience sample?
Post a picture of yourself so we can be the judge if my conclusions are conclusive.  Cheesy

i don't think this is a serious problem, they put only "female shoe" on their photo, and you said coindesk make women dont want use bitcoin becasue his,its too serious. i think Elizabeth Rossiello as SEO of BitPesa put on last list because bitpesa is the smalest company.

First of all, you don't judge situation and base your conclusion of 1 picture! This is just showing how ignorant and happy trigger we all are with our judgement.
Secondly men are more prominent in bitcoin world - that is a fact, it is not that women can't be part of it, they are just not as interested from what I could tell.
I talked to many women and men about bitcoin - and I can tell that in general women are more ignorant and reluctant to hear about it.

I did not experience the same thing though there are less woman in the space that are interested in it or are big in the scene. I think the reason simply is the way bitcoin came to live. A dry topic... mathematics... and what's the men-women-ratio in that areas? The big heads in there are mostly men too.

So I think it is plain stupid to demand equality where one should judge from knowledge and experience only. If a woman did not sit there even if she would have been better suited there than one of the mens then fine. That would be unequalitity. But taking taking in persons, regardless of some outer appearence, that are less experienced... why? To make it more colorful?

Imagine having a brain tumor and you want to have the best treatment. Though you get a way less capable doctor to do the task than you would have gotten. Simply because that doctor has some meaningless different appearence.

This is a photograph published by CoinDesk today:

In this panel, the entire worth and contribution from the only women - is represented by her shoes.  While they are nice shoes, they clearly cut the only female out of the story and quite disrespectfully left a mere tiny slice of her representation.

Shameful.  It is no wonder women don't feel welcome in this group.

you're being sensationalist here!   there were women represented at the conference -  (i was there, and saw they were well represented).  there were several talks with women on the panel.  One talk even had Majority women on the panel and the moderator actually called it out as a good conference for diversity.

its a fact of life in tech that women are under represented, but you're reading too much into that particular slide, as there were plenty of talks with women represented, and actually, i felt there we were going in the right direction as there were significantly more women at the conference this year than last year.

could coindesk have picked a better photo (or cropped this one better)?  probably.   but your point is unfounded and you're off base.

Make Bitcoin glow with ENIAC
Please let's stop with the feminist comments. I'm tired of hearing "Women can do this, women can do that".

I know women can do many things we men can. But crying because you did not appear in a stupid photo is too much for me.

Try to work in silence, we have been condemned to brutal work for ages and we're not talking about it.

I work 62 net hours a week to hear from a woman my work worth nothing because I am a man, and I earn $50-60 at the end of month for that.

They want to be treated equal, but not when it comes to fight and workload.

Sometimes, I feel like I should take my hands and start beating them at the street randomly.

Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

Hmmmm... judging from your reasoning here you might have to consider that she might be right.

There will surely be other pictures of the entire panel together?  fair enough they cut her out and if the photo was to represent the entire panel then the full panel should have been included whether that be a man, woman or fish! you can see her name listed on the screen behind them but you can't see the other names.....
