BitPesa is an African payment and trading platform and it's obvious that the hosts of this panel made it clear that this fine lady doesn't have any importance for the discussion by placing her on the very bottom of that list. I would like to point out that she is the CEO of BitPesa and this photo is taken from her Twitter. She is very good-looking btw 
OP might right,coindesk should post better picture of this confrence,lets dont make any different between man and women in bitcoin,its better if coindesk take picture from CEO of bitpesa,and yes she was good looking,and perfect women becasue she know and expert about bitcoin

i think you are overthinking the situation. this is more like a shitty photographer's fault than Coindest releasing this photo with the purpose of removing the woman out of the photo, and it doesn't look like a photoshopped picture either.
No matter how shitty the photographer is, the editor still has eyes and can see the woman is cut out. maybe she wanted to not get with the other? she could have asked for that, if she occupy another position, in comaprison with those other guys, it could make sense
bitcoin is inclusive in nature, it's for everyone who wants it without interference. Lookin symbolically at the pic it seems to demonstrate exclusion which is not what bitcoin is about.
I am sure this is one of many pictures, and not the only picture for the meeting. Women are equally important, if not more important, for the growth of bitcoins; otherwise bitcoin will just be a silly game.

I blame the photographer and the photo editor. The photographer should have taken more photo's of the panel to give the editor more options to chose from. If the editor decided to use a cropped photo, he or she should go look for something else, because that was definitely not the best option.
You said multiple times, WHO CARES. I think the lady excluded in the photo cares and also the friends and family looking at that site. The readers should also care, because next time it could be them. Is this a gender issue? Nope. It is poor quality editing and poor photography.

again that means nothing as you are assuming that she cares, or assuming that she is looking to be in public light as much as possible.
As for readers caring because it could be them next, first get real, chances of any readers here being cropped in a photo coindesk publish is about the same odds that one of the readers here is SN, and again you would be assuming everyone wants to be in the public light.
It is not for us to assume this or that and get our knickers in a twist for nothing.

May be you have a mistake, may be it is not original photo, if someone have the same photo than it is helpful for the judgement with evidence, but i believe it is by mistakenly happen, so it is not the fault of Coindesk.
I've been trying to get women and men on-baord Bitcoin since 2012. No women that I know have been interested at all... until Bitcoin started gaining in value. That tells me all I need to know about women and Bitcoin. It's boring to them or to risky to even consider... until it becomes valuable and massively adopted so they risk little.
You are explaining the wrong things to them,
The easiest way to explain to a woman is quite simple
Have some BTC at hand ready, Then:
Have the woman select something she wants to buy on amazon,
Once she has selected desired item or items,
Then show her purse.io
Then buy the desired items at 15% discount, either by making her buy bitcoin which could be time consuming,
or the easier way you just pay with your bitcoin and she gives you cash.
If a woman see's she can save money she will be interested.
Woman (mostly) think a lot differently to men in regards to money and future etc.
You need to show people the here and now, not explain how they can cash out in future and make money.
Show women how to save on purse.io and how they can sell old stuff for free on openbazaar.
explaining about price of btc rising in future comes later, and is just a bonus, not everyone wants to be a trader.

I believe you all are under the mistaken belief that it was the woman that was invited to be on the panel. Where you went wrong in your logic is that is was actually her Shoes that were asked to be on the panel. The woman, was simply there to facilitate getting the Shoes there in a timely manner.

No matter how shitty the photographer is, the editor still has eyes and can see the woman is cut out. Definitely a poor choice in photo composition. I wouldn't be surprised if she was disappointed to see that photo was chosen. Bizarre as she is probably the one on the panel readers would most prefer to see.
One could argue, however, that she is more than adequately represented by her enormous name and company name on the wall while 4 of the others are missing in that respect.
