It just get to know that some shops now accept BTC as exchange, that is very good Bitcoin is making progress, after some years now Bitcoin will shock the world, with the way things are going now.
In fact, globally there are many well-known retailers or shops that accept Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. However, if the retailer has many branches in various countries, of course it will probably be different because it will also depend on the conditions of each country, regarding the regulations for accepting cryptocurrencies and their legality in that country.

However, so far, there are several that are quite well known and accept Bitcoin payments in the retail companies sector.

1. Burger King -> Fast Food Since 2019.
    Accepting BTC and Bitcoin cash

2. Balenciaga -> Luxury Fashion, since 2021
     Accepting BTC and ETH

3. Pizza Hut  -> Food & Beverage Since 2020.
     Accepting BTC

4. Gucci    -> Luxury Fashion, Since 2021.
     Accepting BTC, Ethereum, and LTC

5. Etsy   -> E-commerce, Since 2020.
     Accepting BTC, Ethereum, and various altcoins.

*Note: There may be differences in the number of retailers in each country due to cryptocurrency regulations in that country.*

And actually there are many more who openly accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as one of their means of payment. Some of the lists include at least 35 large companies in the world. And of course, in some countries, there are also shops, both small and large, that already accept crypto as payment, it's just that it's not yet very widespread or the scale isn't yet global.

Check the source about he information above, here in this article:
https://swissmoney.com/who-accepts-bitcoin-as-payment/

So in essence, currently, the development of Bitcoin adoption is very good. However, the hope is that it will develop further and be accepted again in more and more fields throughout the world.

So you will have to find out how far bitcoin has gone, sooner buddy! Before it has a big community like this forum you should know it's not kidding right?
It can certainly shock someone especially someone who was kind of out of the news or just someone not as updated about current innovations to see how Bitcoin has taken the world by storm.

There was a time where bitcoin or digital currency was considered a scam back then so to see how far it has come now to the point of not only using it for investment purposes but also using it as a daily method of payment. We are about to see more of that in later years.

I don't know what country you're from but in my country Nigeria, I have seen a lot of threads that shows that bitcoin is accepted as means of payments in different high firms in the country and other local shops. I can attest to it that I have seen a furniture shop that accepts bitcoin in my city.

So you will have to find out how far bitcoin has gone, sooner buddy! Before it has a big community like this forum you should know it's not kidding right?
Yeah obviously there is no doubt that Bitcoin has become much greater than before, and there is way more recognition and acceptance for it around the world than a few years back, but that isn't the case with every country. There are countries where a large percentage of the population doesn't even know what Bitcoin is, so there is no way shops or businesses are going to accept cryptocurrencies as payment very soon.

So there is still a long way for Bitcoin to go for it to become a globally accepted payment method that can be used by people from all countries to make payments for the goods and services they consume when they go outside. It will probably take a few more decades for that to happen, and I hope we can stay alive to witness that.

In the Philippines there was a movement a few years ago aiming to make Boracay, arguably one of the most famous places in the country, a crypto paradise, all of a sudden stalls registered for businesses are obliged to accept crypto payments in the form of bitcoin, and a lot of events were held up to really sell the idea of Boracay being a crypto paradise in the Philippines. Nowadays there's only a few of them left, and the whole place itself seemed to have let go of the idea of bitcoin and crypto currency as a whole, since no events are being held anymore, and no movement/activities were made in the past few years to really sell this idea.

Goes to show that you can be crypto-friendly all you like, but you gotta sell the idea to the businesses and the people who will buy from you as well. Could also be the case that since there's only 5% of the population globally that's into crypto, the idea of a largely crypto-centric paradise still doesn't sell itself.

IDK though, but one thing's for sure, crypto still has ways to go when it comes to becoming widely-accepted, we're on that trend though, so that's one good thing.

It would have been nice you give more details that will enable people patronise such shops if in their cities. There are a couple of businesses in my city that also accept Bitcoin, from salon to laundry services.  I have patronised some of them in the past when transaction fee was in cents but when it became too high, I was discouraged from using Bitcoin for such services that the transaction fee is even higher than the fee for the services,  what's the point?

I know the beauty of Bitcoin is when it makes life easy especially for the ordinary and reasonable percentage of humanity and not just a few. So, I always encourage innovations that helps Bitcoin make direct impact in the lives of people.

I can imagine how excited this has made you, giving you a kind of reassurance that what you're investing in is actually something that is becoming global. For many of us on the other side of the world, this is not new.

Some of the shops accepting BTC in some countries do it just for clout-chasing, just to attract young customers like you to their shop.
Even though he didn't say that he invests in Bitcoin but the tone of his statement alone can make us guess that he might be investing with it and even though there are lots of positive things that have occurred in Bitcoin, I think it is still not safe to say that it can give us an assurance.

At the end of the day, Bitcoin is still a kind of investment and any investment has their own risks. There are people like that who clout-chase. It is inappropriate but let's admit it that we can also benefit with it sometimes. In the case of Bitcoin, it is not just a quick hype but it remains. This is great because it means that we can now also use it for a very long time.

Some years ago Laszlo hanyecz who is a Bitcoiner bought two pizza for some amount with bitcoin. I don't think it is a new occurrence for shops that accept Bitcoin as payment. I know haven't seen many shops that accepts bitcoin as payment,  but I know their so many shops that accept it as payment and If i come across anyone right now I won't be surprised because I know bitcoin has gotten awareness that people can use it for transactions to purchase things.  Bitcoin use to buy things is one of the qualities Bitcoin have  as currency.  For sometimes now the transaction fees of bitcoin have been high but I don't think this will be a reason for some people not to use bitcoin to acquire the things they want.

Bitcoin us getting more awareness,  don't be be surprised to see bitcoin accept in big organisations as a means for payment for goods and services,  just know bitcoin is serving its purpose as a digital currency.

Well, bitcoin is very famous now. Those who know how to use it are likely to accept bitcoin as a means of payment, and sometimes they even hold it as an investment. In fact, when you buy at a shop, and the owner knows about bitcoin, then you can offer an exchange using bitcoin. However, personally, I would probably choose to use Fiat as a medium of exchange, and keep the bitcoins I own.

...Bitcoin was designed for daily purchases like coffee. But not now. People now consider it digital gold, something to hold onto rather than spend. The fees are high when everyone uses it since its design makes it slow.
So far year by year bitcoin transactions doubles or triple and even reaches new ATH. So what you said doesn't hold much. High fees can be accomodate with lightning too. The only problem was the previous surge of tokens transactions in the bitcoin blockchain which is not designed for its purpose.

BTC is p2p electronic cash and it is designed for any kind of payment, as long as the merchant is ready to accept it. Yeah, high tx fees make BTC unusable, especially for small payments such as paying for coffee. However, tx fees are kind of low right now, and maybe 1-2 sat/vbyte is possible in some months from now.

Take note that BTC has many use cases right now, and you have to accept the fact that people are going to use BTC in the way they like and choose, so they are the ones to decide if they want to spend or hold.

Bitcoin is on a massive progress though not all part of the world accepts it still bitcoin has proven itself as independent. We all look forward to the day when bitcoin will be accepted and recognized all over the world that is why we need to learn more about it and also educate others there by creating awareness and moving bitcoin to it's final success.
Bitcoin is already known world wide, I'm sure many people or countries already heard about bitcoin its just they dont want or they are still hesitant to bitcoin its because there are no proper way of introducing and advertising about bitcoin, if we will just be more spread about bitcoin then many people will actually do bitcoin, they know the risk and some dont want to because of the complexity of bitcoin and we cant blame them, if we could just all people who wants to learn bitcoin then it will be good, that's also why only a selected country and business are knwo to accept bitcoin because accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment is another process and a complex thing especially for businesses, they should be first know how to navigate in crypto world and also the pros and cons of accepting bitcoin as a payment, expect that only in big company or businesses will accept bitcoin.

Yes, some stores in other countries have accepted bitcoin in their stores, this is progress that deserves appreciation because bitcoin has developed even further.

I have only ever bought hardware items at bitcoin payment online stores but to buy them directly to physical stores that accept bitcoin never because indeed my area will never accept it because there are already strict rules.

Maybe when traveling to other countries such as the Philippines, the island of Boracay, which already accepts bitcoin, some shops there include restaurants, hotels and many more.

That's what I read in the news before.

Knowing that Bitcoin is accepted as payment in many shops in many countries makes you happy because they have implemented Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. We are also happy with the actions taken by businesses to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment because it can increase Bitcoin adoption.

I have not updated data on the number of shops in each country that accept Bitcoin, but in my estimation the number is not just a few shops but many shops in several countries have implemented it.

For those business people who use Bitcoin as a means of payment, in my opinion, it is to make it easier for them to get Bitcoin directly to use as an investment because the use of Bitcoin as a long-term investment asset is more than the users who use Bitcoin as currency.

Where have you found shops accepting Bitcoin? In your country and in your city? Otherwise, nothing new, actually. Bitcoin has been accepted by many countries and businesses. You might share your experience with your Bitcoin shopping experience. I have visited a couple of countries, but sadly, I haven't or wasn't able to spend Bitcoin directly. But I have used P2P services abroad, so I have local currency to spend. However, Bitcoin adaptation is growing fast, and businesses are expecting to reduce transaction fees so that they can accept Bitcoin easily.

@Emmybit001, if you could share a bit more details on the specific stores taking bitcoin.  It would be helpful to know the country or region they are located in.  As some folks already pointed out, there are a good number of major retailers that accept bitcoin now.  Microsoft and Overstock.com are two bigger name companies that have allowed customers to pay with bitcoin for some time and  there are also services that let you spend bitcoin at retailers that dont directly take it.  But if you have names of some smaller or local brick and mortar shops embracing bitcoin, that would be interesting to hear.  Even just the general area so we can get a sense of where adoption seems to be happening.

There was a time when I heard that some businesses do accept bitcoin as a payment method. Actually, I don’t know about those businesses because they are not close to me, so I couldn’t really confirm it, but with the current crisis about cryptocurrency in my country, any business accepting bitcoin will definitely have stopped it. Because if the CBN can discover that, then the business account might end up being compromised, which will be affecting the business. So any shop or company accepting bitcoin in my country will have stopped that, and maybe in the future we are going to see more businesses accepting bitcoin.

Now it's not just a shop but indeed there are several service providers also implementing the same thing but it does need to be underlined that something like this happens for countries that do accept bitcoin as a means of payment and it is not arbitrary to do so without any regulation from the state because however when we live under the rule of a country then we must comply with all the regulations in it.

When a country still does not recognize bitcoin as a legal means of payment then don't ever dare try to do that because it's the same as you are against the policies that the government makes and seems to impose its will.
Currently there are countries that have stated that they will adopt bitcoin which makes the bitcoin system as a means of payment still enforceable but not all countries can do that.

Hmm, Op I think you've forgotten, this is a global section or you were posting in local anyway can you mention some more details location = country + city + area haha because here still 90% of people don't know is Bitcoin a scam or not haha, space the matrix andrew tate (just kidding), by the I cant expect it to be in my country because we need at least 10 more years to recognize what Bitcoin is here. So mention freely as I know it's not happening here also is it L2 coins, because no one will pay 10 bucks on high network fees?
