It just get to know that some shops now accept BTC as exchange, that is very good Bitcoin is making progress, after some years now Bitcoin will shock the world, with the way things are going now.
Even though there are no shops in my area that accept Bitcoin as payment, currently there are many shop owners who are happy with Bitcoin and they are also trying to get it through the market by entering fiat into the market. But for things like this I have also had time to read one site which explains several companies that are willing to accept Bitcoin as payment and I think at this time there are also several new companies that are starting to like Bitcoin so this has led to its own progress in Bitcoin which continues to increase throughout the world. And the site I mean is: https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin/who-accepts/

Of course, each country has different regulations. If the country accepts BTC it will definitely be very easy to accept payments with BTC, but if not it will certainly be very difficult. And in my opinion, it is very rare for general stores to accept payment in BTC, if only a few. But many large shops or large companies are starting to accept BTC. Maybe here are some big stores or big companies that accept BTC as payment, but mostly via giftcards:

1. KFC. In 2018, they introduced the “Bitcoin Bucket” feature. In this feature, their main website will accept BTC for purchasing special chicken packages.
2. Subway. This restaurant also accepts payments in crypto via gift cards. In fact, Subway is the first fast food restaurant in the world to accept crypto.
3. Burger King. Currently, they accept BTC and other popular cryptocurrencies in the form of gift cards as a payment alternative.
4. Ace Jewelers. They also accept crypto payments directly via crypto wallets. In fact, in the last decade, this company was the first jewelry company to accept payments in BTC.
5. Shopify. lets online store owners accept BTCand 300+ other cryptocurrencies by enabling “alternative payment methods” in the Payment Providers section of the admin page.
6. Adidas. At Adidas, you can also pay using crypto via gift cards which can be purchased from BitRefill. Recently, Adidas said that they were interested in collaborating with CoinBase and this is an indication that there may be direct payments in the future.

Maybe that's all I know, even though they accept BTC on average with gift cards, I think it's very good, and it doesn't rule out the possibility of being able to accept payments directly.

Finding an actual shop near you that accepts bitcoin as a payment can be a challenge depending on where you live, however when it comes to online shopping there are several options and services which basically allow you to buy almost anything you may want, as bitcoin has made great progress on that front since its creation, so we are getting close to the day in which an average person could use bitcoin exclusively for their purchases, if that is what they want.

Anyone who understands Bitcoin can see its issues. Unlimited transactions seem naïve. It overlooks this technology's operation. The idea of infinite transactions with security and everyone in control is nice, but not possible. Bitcoin was designed for daily purchases like coffee. But not now. People now consider it digital gold, something to hold onto rather than spend. The fees are high when everyone uses it since its design makes it slow.

Talking about correcting this is fine, but we must be honest. It won't be flawless, like making a little car race-fast. Just not happening. Little by little, we must improve Bitcoin, but never lose what makes it exceptional.

bitcoin has gone beyond being accepted as means of payments in shops to different levels.

Have you heard of bitcoin ATMs ? I guess No! You have to read https://www.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-atm/

I don't know what country you're from but in my country Nigeria, I have seen a lot of threads that shows that bitcoin is accepted as means of payments in different high firms in the country and other local shops. I can attest to it that I have seen a furniture shop that accepts bitcoin in my city.

So you will have to find out how far bitcoin has gone, sooner buddy! Before it has a big community like this forum you should know it's not kidding right?

In some advanced countries like the US, businesses that accept Bitcoin as a currency are very high. However, the use of Bitcoin in my country for the buying of goods and payment of services is not popular. Most people in my country know nothing about Bitcoin. But I have seen one shop that accepts Bitcoin. It is located in the highbrow area because this is where you can see youths who are wealthy. For now, Bitcoin will be better as an investment because high transaction fees will make it expensive to use. Bitcoin is already shocking the world not as a currency but as a profitable investment and a promoter of privacy.

i'll send you some btc to stop posting crap. deal?

It depends on the roles of a country in a few countries there is no regulation for Bitcoins uses hence it is used in a shop but it is not permissible in all countries. Bitcoin is used as a  payment in many countries and still the development of Bitcoin is increasing so a time will come when every country will accept Bitcoin for purchasing materials.

With the passage of time bitcoin is going to be more acceptable currency all over the world and all those countries where there was no concept of Bitcoin are now accepting Bitcoin and those who already know about bitcoin have started to use it for a payment.

The only word that stands out to me here is "now".
I have been paying stuff with btc and other crypto since maybe 2017. In 2018 I paid my new Macbook at BIC camera in Tokyo in BTC, even even got a 5% discount because of that.  Grin

For some reason in Japan you can find plenty of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and so on where you can pay in BTC. And all this even though crypto is quite regulated here, there are no crypto ATM or anything like that here.
In Hong Kong it's also easy to pay with crypto at several places, at least I saw plenty.

Sure, other countries might not have adapted BTC and others at the same pace but hearing about seeing it for the first time in 2024 is surprising to me.

This is nothing new. From very early days there have been shops that accepted bitcoin as payment. I dare say the first case was the Pizza thing and it has grown ever since. It's just that the bitcoin adoption is still very small (maybe less than 5% of the world) and out of that small adoption, many are seeing bitcoin as an investment to get rich quick! So the number of people who see bitcoin as a currency, have a shop and decide to accept bitcoin as payment is understandably small.
The only thing that matters is that this adoption is growing.

Buying goods with Bitcoin is more common in El Salvador, where Nayeb Bukele fully accepts Bitcoin. Bitcoin has generally gained a lot of influence around the world within a short period of time, although in our country Bitcoin is illegal because it is not officially awarded but we use it secretly. So there are people all over the world who are secretly using Bitcoin, grocery stores, furniture, clothing and food stores also have Bitcoin style bill payment systems in El Salvador. But very soon such modern technology will spread all over the world.

There are quite a lot of shops accepting Bitcoin. I don't know how up-to-date this map is, but you definitely can use it to get an image: https://coinmap.org/view/#/map

For a country like Lugano

Your post contains quite a few confusions there. I will start with the fact that Lugano is not a country, just a region in Switzerland.
Also you've put together regions or countries with big support (or legal tender) for Bitcoin with regions/countries with not that special status of Bitcoin. Not mentioning the Bitcoin is actually regulated in many (maybe even most) countries of the world.

Do you mean that some shops in your country or in other country are now accepting Bitcoin? If it is in your country, that is good to know, for other countries, it is not a news but real. I have seen different post on this forum about shops that is accepting Bitcoin payment and not every one of those post are from the same country. In those country that Bitcoin is not banned, there are definitely some business that accepts Bitcoin payment.

I love buying stuff using crypto in general and I have been doing this for years now, almost all my equipment was bought online unfortunately not many are accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment.

I have spent weeks looking for online marketplaces that accept crypto and most that I have found have something to do with crypto e.g. crypto hardware wallets, crypto asic miners, graphics card stores, crypto-related smartphones, etc.

The others are Gift card stores, bill payments, vouchers, and co, I read on this forum that Newegg is accepting Bitcoin payments. I haven't looked into this, if this is true there are many things I have wanted to buy on Newegg, and this could make me go ahead with the purchases instead of using restricted credit cards from my country.

It is a different story in my country, there is only 1 out of 1000 that are accepting crypto, and even now that the government isn't very friendly with crypto adopters in the country it will take some balls to display "crypto is accepted here" in front of your store, I took down mine months ago and still accept Bitcoin behind closed door.

Some of the shops accepting BTC in some countries do it just for clout-chasing, just to attract young customers like you to their shop.
I actually doubt that.

Bitcoin is a risky investment much more a risky payment method. These businesses need to have a profound understanding of bitcoin and how it works and how it could benefit or cause harm to their business.

It’s not a simple marketing strategy because they are quite literally putting everything on the line. I think if a shop decided to put bitcoin as one of their accepted payment methods they genuinely believe in btc and would want to be part of it.
For a country like Lugano, El Salvador, Brazil, England that have accepted to regulate the activity of cryptocurrency users in their countries respectively, I don't think shops or businesses there would find it hard to accept BTC or even any altcoins for their transactions, because it is a currency for exchange and payments that may include purchase or taxes.
Where I think accepting BTC or cryptocurrency in shops or businesses isn't viable, is when such businesses exit in a region where crypto currency is banned or not accepted and regulated by the government. Unless it is from well known customers and trusted P2P traders or investors, shopping with BTC or cryptocurrency is a kind of option that is specifically requested or available to real crypto currency believers.

Usually shops are already accepting btc as payment but most even companies do the same, if i could recall as then there were some gas station that was accepting bitcoin payment people were patronizing them. Bitcoin has gone beyond the way you have had it and you can unveil more things if you stick around here.
There's not a lot of them unfortunately, maybe in my country it would still be the same as any other, they like to use fiat much more than bitcoin because they're either ignorant, they're not aware that bitcoin exist, or that bitcoin isn't a thing and most of them probably don't want the added hassle of having to convert bitcoin to fiat so they can cycle it back to their business to buy back their stocks and pay their workers. In a small business, it might work but the problem is that the tax season will be a hell of a lot more difficult to do because there's some issues they need to deal with involving doing transactions using bitcoin. Also, the word is patronage not patronizing because that would mean that the bitcoin users that are paying their gas on that gas station is condescending or demeaning them in some way.

I don't know about shops accepted Bitcoin at your local area but there are some websites to find shops and where you can spend your bitcoins.

https://bitcoin.org/en/spend-bitcoin

With small fund to spend, it will be better and more economical if you find shops that accept Bitcoin via Lightning Network or side chains.

There are so many shops that accept Bitcoin in several countries of the world. Accepting Bitcoin at a shop as a payment option can be challenging especially if the merchants lives and does business in your country where Bitcoin is not sanctioned by the government. In countries like El Salvador where bitcoin is accepted shops that accept Bitcoin as payment options will see greater sales, new customers, increased profit etc.
If the use of bitcoin for transaction will make you face punishment or sanctions, I don't think that it would be logical for merchants to be accepting that as a form of payment for their product and/or services. Regarding the El Salvador situation, there's never been an article that reports that there were increase in sales or anything like that but there was a report that said that after some months, the use of it lowered and most people still preferred to use fiat over bitcoin and despite the $30 bitcoin subsidy of the government, there are still untouched bitcoin subsidy despite the massive amounts of download of the Chivo wallet.

I can imagine how excited this has made you, giving you a kind of reassurance that what you're investing in is actually something that is becoming global. For many of us on the other side of the world, this is not new.
