If you have enough money go for bitcoin. It is the leader and you will not loose money
if from the current market situation I am more likely to invest in litecoin. This coin is a promising future opportunity, we see a few months ago the price could be above 300 $. I am currently collecting LTC, and hope that someday the price will return above 200 or 300 $.

These are two strong, promising crypto-currencies. But if for Bitcoin and so everything is clear. It's your choice which one you like most. But I recommend you to buy litecoin. Cause litecoin price is very undervalue and you can get big profits in future by hold it.
I suggest just investing in bitcoin, because in the next month the value will be more valuable than Litecoin and I'm sure of that.

I agree that Bitcoin is better choice, but I believe that Litecoin is very good coin too. I suggest to consider both coins and invest in them, because both will show good return.

I would prefer to buy bitcoin than litecoin, bitcoin has a better prospect and less risk than litecoin especially if your goal is long term.
You should be buying bitcoin especially if you are planning to hold the coins that you buy for the long term. I don't even think 50-50 applies here anyway, if you want a good coin out of the two to put your money into then bitcoin is the best choice. It is the coin that you can be sure will be here for much longer than any of the other coins.
If I have to choose between Bitcoin and Litecoin , of course no doubt I choose Bitcoin , I know the prices are currently falling slightly, but I believe in the couple of months will recover .
